Hey all, I'll keep this brief as I am short on battery life.

My wife recently made friends through f.b. with a woman who lives in chandler, az.

This woman claims she has been seeing some strange lights and crafts for going on for about a month.

Her children have also seen them (so she claims)

She just told my wife her and her daughter were sitting on the patio and observed a bright light in the sky. Shortly two smaller lights came out of it formin a triangle.

My wife is convinced she's not being decieved, and that the woman is skeptical about "ufos" and is confused by this strange activity.

I know Williams AFB is near there. Just wondering if any of our fine members are located in the area and have seen any goings on as of late.

Thanks in advance!

ETA: after a bit of lookin around it appears maricopa county has been a hot bed of activity for a while.

I'm under the impression that the woman is seeing some possible black project aircraft maneuvers.

Do you know where she is located? I can see exercises all the time. Usually during the day but many times at night.
Willaims is now AZA Phoenix–Mesa Gateway. It is busy all the time. To the east is a national guard site. Seen may weird stuff at night there.....
To the southwest, we have the 33 degrees Space Fence

Pinal is a National Guard helicopter training site, and SOCOM trains there and other locations in the area. Mesa is also home to the Apache manufacturing line. Luke, on the other end of Phoenix is home to both F-35 and F-16 pilot training for the US and multiple other countries

Glad to get your input. You bring invaluable info to this site regarding all things aircraft.

Thank you.

Chandler is basically under the East-West corridor of most PHX LAX flyovers. Anything out of Cali dips down over Maricopa and the southern "South Mountain" range. If you fly in from the east you fly over the superstition mountain range.

There is a private airport along the 202 (in Chandler) and the Chandler airport itself. East of that is Williams gateway AZA.

Unless they were radically separated, this was most likely a commercial aircraft deploying landing lights. There are several types that have lights that retract into the flap fairings on the wing. They deploy them and turn them on when they're on approach.

The Phoenix area is a pretty low probability area for a black project to be flying around. If they were flying in the area, they'd head to California to the Edwards ranges, or north, to the NTTR area.

That area is too grown out now for it to be anything exotic, IMO.
Saw some interesting things out at BMGR on occasion that I could not identify.
Air America used to use an auxiliary field south west of the Chandler area until the area developed. C-119's, C-123's, C-130's. They lost a C-130 somewhere over Africa carrying "pesticides", but there was lots of scuttlebutt on other airfields. Was politely asked to leave by armed guards in fatigues and no insignia twice, but you could easily see the field through the cottonwoods from the road.
In the late sixties before it got it's CIA makeover, it was abandoned and the locals used the runways to drag race (I'm not that old! but I've heard the stories).
They shared the field with aerial firefighting unit for a time (20 or so years ago?), and with some sweet talking (told them honestly that I'd seen the Privateer from the freeway and was excited enough to see it to stop by) I was allowed to see the Harpoons and a Privateer (Navy B-24 with single tail basically) with an escort. Semi-guided tour. But I wasn't allowed anywhere near the other ramp area.
I haven't been around there in ages. Last I heard it was going to be handed to the rez.

You mean Pinal? Pinal has a really interesting history. It was run by Evergreen for the CIA for many years before being returned to the state.

No, Marana (Pinal) was the big hub. There was also a lot of work done at a WWII aux-field just east of the freeway off I-10 between Maricopa and Chandler. Not terribly far from the Space Fence mentioned above (also an old aux-field).

Goodyear AF, but if you google it, you'll just get returns for the Luke aux field out by the town of Goodyear also known as Goodyear Field.

The one I'm talking about is a Willie aux, also called Goodyear AF:
33.242428, -111.909111

The Goodyear Co of tire fame owned a lot of land near Phoenix -- cotton fields for tire production.

Goodyear is home to AeroTurbine I believe. A few aircraft stored there, that they tear down for parts. I just got pictures there the other day. Nowhere near as many as Pinal, but an interesting selection.

Alright, guess I've got to do some reading. You guys lost me. But you have piqued my interest.

That's the field out by Luke.

Edit: progress! The LID is 34AZ and now goes by Gila River Memorial.

Yeah, I go by both quite often. I actually took the time to stop at Goodyear to see what was there the other day. I was surprised at how few aircraft are out there. Found a couple places to get good pics though. Them ran up to Luke and got some great F-16 shots.

Pinal is an old CIA airport east of Phoenix. It's now a civilian storage and tear down area. They take aircraft the airlines don't want anymore and strip them and sell the parts.

Goodyear does the same thing, on a smaller scale, and is on the west end of Phoenix. It's a few miles away from Luke AFB.

Living in Arizona you will see phenomenon that is almost indescribable, so I would assume your FB friends aren't lying. Clubs in Scottsdale are the type of places Musk parties at , so half of what you see is probably him showing off his toys to other billionaires.
