It is nice to see a news organization fire someone based upon principle as opposed to firing them because they have no principles and the advertisers forced their hand in the matter.

Corporate magnetism at work.

Maybe Griffin took a sacrifice bunt for her side so CNN could recover some credibility for their bs fake news and biased reporting. Whole thing could have been a set up. You just can't know these days...

Just a thought.

Sometimes, political correctness and SJW is a good thing, no?

No

Come on. This happened because of all the screaming by both sides of the political spectrum regarding the inappropriateness of the photo. The photo just wasn't the politically correct thing to do, and people were offended.

You're confusing human decency with political correctness, as if the two are one in the same, while completely falling on your face regarding the reality that it was SJW fanaticism that has been driving people like Griffin here to these extreme lows in human decency.

If they were firing her based upon principle, they wouldn't have waited 26 hours to fire her. That decision could have been made in about ... ohhh ... 10 seconds. No, they waited until they were losing $$$. Nothing principled about it.

CNN had to wait for confirmation from their P.R. firm and their in-house pollsters.

I keep wondering if south park is going to parody this.
They have so much to work with these days.

Nope. It's just a photo. A photo of a woman holding a fake head. A photo that most people found offensive. That, my dear, is political correctness in action.

LOL. PM me your attorney's contact info...I've never been able to assemble a team of lawyers in less than 24-hours. CNN acted about as quickly as they could while legally crossing their "I's" and dotting their "T's".

They have a legal team. Already preassembled. You saying this didn't come across their desks immediately? I bet like hell It hit them in the face within 10 minutes of hitting the internet.

Hey, this might be a good idea for a thread, since we're talking about PR, principles and such - How long it took Fox to fire all their sexual predators!

Anyway, I knew the minute I saw the pict, she was outta CNN. Even the one night a year. I can't imagine what she was thinking to think it was funny. Major fail.

Said it in another thread...

I have a hard time believing that Griffin didn't know what she was getting into.

I mean unless she was MK Ultra-ed into doing that photo shoot then surely she knew that this was going to blow up one way or the other... and that's likely why she did it.

All press is good press. She will now be known for doing this. Whether or not it's in poor taste is kind of irrelevant... these are the actions of an attention whore.

The only way this will become a satisfying story is if she actually get's in deep $h1t with the powers that be. Otherwise it's outrage porn.

She's been quoted before about these types of things...

AP NEWS - CNN SACKS KATHY GRIFFIN

You nailed it. Kathy Griffen has become stale. IMO she was very funny at one time, but everything has a "sell by date." And she passed hers. At a certain point, society starts to eat it's own tail. People are very angry on both sides and bad humor is not a good look for anyone during this time of "volatics."

Ms. Griffin is the epitome of "Political Directness".

If it was mere PC (of this viewpoint or that) then we wouldn't see people from every corner of the spectrum chastising her.

PC, that is, IDEOLOGICAL Correctness isn't inherently a scale of human decency, humanitarianism, humanism. It's any given set of ideological customs.

Griffin's art wasn't even original if you followed the other thread, its was just the most 'realistic', in your face, and put a humans face to (the 'perp' doing) it.

SJW mania is what has been driving this whole trend of kill whitey which is now climaxing with this style of anti-Trump stuff.

Because that's what SJW is as a whole: fanaticism, which fuels and promotes ever more infectious fanaticism.

Kathy Griffin might have bigger problems than getting fired from her New Year's gig. Much bigger.

The Secret Service is investigating the incident.

If they decide that she threatened the president's life, then she's way, way up # Creek, with no paddle in sight.

CNN has announced they have fired actress Kathy Griffin from their New Years Eve show.

You're just trying to make pc only about the left, as some kind of insult. People on the right can be just as pc about what they think is wrong. In this particular instance, both sides agree on what is pc and what isn't. Rare, but it happens sometimes.

It's wall-to-wall coverage of what Trump & his family are doing to celebrate the New Year, with commentary on how Russia is secretly responsible.

I'm sorry they did it. She may not be the face of the DNC but she certainly could be the spokesman.

She's not the only one on the left to think this, she's just the only one to have expressed it.

In my opinion.
