This just in, from Milo's FB page:

"I am a gay man, and a child abuse victim.

I would like to restate my utter disgust at adults who sexually abuse minors. I am horrified by pedophilia and I have devoted large portions of my career as a journalist to exposing child abusers. I've outed three of them, in fact -- three more than most of my critics. And I've repeatedly expressed disgust at pedophilia in my feature and opinion writing. My professional record is very clear.

But I do understand that these videos, even though some of them are edited deceptively, paint a different picture.

I'm partly to blame. My own experiences as a victim led me to believe I could say anything I wanted to on this subject, no matter how outrageous. But I understand that my usual blend of British sarcasm, provocation and gallows humor might have come across as flippancy, a lack of care for other victims or, worse, "advocacy." I deeply regret that. People deal with things from their past in different ways.

As to some of the specific claims being made, sometimes things tumble out of your mouth on these long, late-night live-streams, when everyone is spit-balling, that are incompletely expressed or not what you intended. Nonetheless, I've reviewed the tapes that appeared last night in their proper full context and I don't believe they say what is being reported.

I do not advocate for illegal behavior. I explicitly say on the tapes that I think the current age of consent is "about right."

I do not believe sex with 13-year-olds is okay. When I mentioned the number 13, I was talking about the age I lost my own virginity.

I shouldn't have used the word "boy" -- which gay men often do to describe young men of consenting age -- instead of "young man." That was an error.

I am certainly guilty of imprecise language, which I regret.

Anyone who suggests I turn a blind eye to illegal activity or to the abuse of minors is unequivocally wrong. I am implacably opposed to the normalization of pedophilia and I will continue to report and speak accordingly.

ETA: As for the OP, it's interesting to see the contortions some people are making. I've skimmed quite a few threads about Milo and even had arguments over his canceled speech at UC Berkeley. I can only wonder how these same people would react if Pres Obama said the exact same things Milo did.

For everyone saying he condones pedophilia you do realise he was a victim and not a perpetrator?

Theres 3 options here
1) its not true and was said for shock value
2) it wasnt a traumatic experience for him and he isnt ashamed of it, I slept with one of my highschool teachers when I was 16 and I can tell you I wasnt a victim and quite enjoyed the experience.
3) he is traumatised by it and his glib way of discussing it is a coping mechanism.

This is just another mole hill turned into a mountain by the MSM while they continue on their witch hunts.

I've stated that anyone who tries to deny the fact that the mainstream media has been out to get Milo since his beginning, is not embracing facts, and instead is trying to remain ignorant to it.

What does the MSM have to do with what he said? Milo said the things he said and that resulted in the consequences he is now facing.

Are you trying to blame the media for what he said?

And, as I've said, this whole thing has been taken out of context. I agree he did not handle this whole thing well at all during the interview, but it just shows to me that he also has some deep rooted problems about his experience.

Even you admit to having doubts in how he conducted himself. So why are you trying to blame the media?

I dont think its the deep state or a left conspiracy or any of that. I watched this video and others where he skirts this several times... and I THINK he isnt condoning it, but has to internally "okay" it to be "okay" WITH it. KWIM? I saw an exceedingly uncomfortable person ( he is still just a boy to me... ) making light of something that obviously had a impact upon him.. and jokes it away with flippant things such as " fell on dicks" his whole life.. etc. If you turn off or down the sound and watch.. watch Milo.. something is much more amiss here than him CONDONING what happened to him.. he is okaying it to himself. Out loud. He can not see himself as a victim to an older man in a position of power... it would be a serious chink in his armor that he has made for himself and his basic personality type.

Your mind would be blown at the coping or survival mechanisms that people use to keep going. Ive always felt something was off with Milo.. and not just the fact that he is a smarty pants mouthy kid

I also see the HUGE cultural divide among a lot of ATSers. Even in my parents culture the age of consent was very low. It wasnt that long ago here in this country it was not uncommon for YOUNG teens to marry by puberty and bear children... whites. Still its 16 in most places and a 3 year buffer... and MANY times prosecution is at the discretion of the prosecutor and is handled on a case by case basis when the age is younger for the "offender". Within parameters and with sufficient investigation, I am an advocate for not destroying peoples lives for a little revenge with a young "offender" when he is clearly in a consenting relationship with a girl close to his age/maturity level. Hence that 3 year buffer.

This is too bad, Milo is a talented individual. He was the victim of abuse, and because he dared to talk about it (and is a conservative) he is branded a pedophile supporter and has his life ruined. Sick sick world we live in, especially with all the real pedophiles running our governments and getting cover from the media.

Milo is not being accused of being a pedophile.

He is wrongly being accused of "normalizing" it despite having a stronger record of condemning it and outing three pedophiles.

He did a much better work writting things down, he admits he is guilty of using imprecise language therefore recognizing his mistake, followed by his own resignation from Breitbart.

I really don't get this argument. It's not even an argument, it's just fact. Of course it was an attack. Any person with two connected brain cells sees that. Does that make the content of the jokes/statements any less reprehensible? Smart people always wait for the best opportunity to play their cards. It's being human 101. Both sides do it, always have, always will.

Anyway, on Milo, I think he caved so quickly hoping this will appease the evil-leftist-cabal before they go further by bringing his past sexual exploits to light.
