Problem is to do that they may have to include the third parties in the debates.

They SHOULD have to include third parties in the debates. What is this dumb 15% rule anyway?

This stupid rule was developed by a supposedly non-partisan, PRIVATE, non-profit organization: The Commission on Presidential Debates. Link

WTH? Why on earth should we accept their silly flipping rule? Apparently the CPD has some legal right to make this shameful rule, but it is horrible for the voters and it is OBVIOUSLY A SCAM.

The two parties gave them their legal authority. It's abhorrent.

People are held hostage by the two party system. Many people UNDERSTANDABLY won't vote third party because they are worried the 'other' party will win. So this polling 15% method is a terrible litmus test.

How about polling people to ask if they want third parties included in the debates? And if it's over 50%, then the third parties are included in the debates.

Now THAT would be democratic.

Shenanigans, I tell you.

I don't think it would matter if one supported the other. I'm firmly of the belief their polling numbers are straight up lies, and will be no matter what. It would take something truly crazy for there to be any chance that polls would have to admit to enough support that a third party could be in the debates.

That being said, the Libertarian Party is in my opinion being built up to replace the republicans. Next election they might be included as part of that conversion. In a few more elections the republican party will have either fallen apart or find themselves forced into the status of a third party.

The PTB don't seem to be willing to give up the democratic party yet. Which is why Stein's numbers are so artificially low in main stream polling.

BTW, I would love to see Johnson, who called Trump a p*ssy," face off with him.

And I would love to see Stein, who said Clinton owes voters an explanation about her email server, face off with her.

I would love to see third party candidates on a level playing field with the two party candidates: THAT would be delightful!

Fuh. How can we make this happen????

How we can make it happen is rather difficult, but don't worry the Libertarians will be in the debates next election. I'm calling it.

It'll guarantee Hillary can "plausibly" win again by dividing the right between the Republicans and Libertarians.

Then the year after that in a "miracle" the "people will have spoken" and the two party system will be broken as the Libertarian Party wins, people will cheer at our "victory" and the PTB will smile. Once again having duped us all.

Vote for them so that next election they have the same resources the two major parties do.

Is why I held my nose to vote Stein, I can at least say I'm fighting the system, and not just supporting it.

Probably being duped though, the Green Parties support of maintaining racial division screams Soro's and company.

I will be voting third party but my question is how do we force change to the awful rule that a candidate must poll at 15% to be included in the presidential debates.

It's just a stupid rule, not a law.

And I doubt many voters actually support this horrible rule, even if they don''t plan on voting for a third party.

There is some exploitation going on -- left & right.

I won't vote since I am from canadakastan, the great white North. For me though, it's whomever is going to at least try to clean out the political corruption, maybe start trials and due legal process, maybe some jail time and a good hanging now and then for these political criminals. Do they still hang for treason and horse thievery?

Cheers - Dave

From my foggy geriatric recollection, nephew.. the three
strictly enumerated capital offenses (per our defunct social
contract down here) are murder, counterfeiting and treason.

As a dis-[everything possible] Illinoisan, I feel we're not doing too
well lately. I think if it was 75 or so years ago the muskets would
be conspicuously missing off the mantle and from d' corners. On
the other hand, never underestimate the voting power of a
briefly commandeered PCMCIA card...

For grand theft Palomino, Roy and Dale are both gone... sigh.

I'm a little disappointed that None of the Above is not making a better showing.

This may be one of those times where the groundling
opinion of just one of the candidates-- has created a
whiplash of 'anybody but THAT One'.
With the average voter (I hope) opting for a combination
of error prevention and surety-- the Trump pendulum is
swinging back as if there's an electromagnet over there.

I wish either Gary or Jill -- this time around -- had an
even snowball's chance of getting in; but a more backed
renegade had to be where I'm going, just to keep it out
of the Democrats' tent. Just too much criminality all
the way to the top and blatant besides.

The map is interesting. Apparently to wipe out most of the Conspiracy Theorists on Planet Earth in one strike one would only have to wipe out the east coast of the USA.

I think you are discounting the fact that it's a POLL site open to everyone and their brother...

These numbers do not reflect ATS members in the least bit....

Join with me as we ask for ATS to conduct it's own poll... then we will see how it reflects the membership...

I think we have a pretty fair representation of diverse opinions... I know we have a hell of a lot of Bernie folk, who I doubt switched to the DOnald...

just sayin

I think I already did! I will have to go check - I remember when that thread came out and I was supporting it...

I'd support this as long as additional mods are assigned to the thread to monitor it and you have to be logged in and actually post your answer - not click some OP survey - say the question, give the options for the answer and have members post their answer separate to the OP.

Do a count after a set period just like the competitions we have. You can start a new thread every week. You have to have 200+ post count to be able to post in the survey, so no sudden 'new members' can participate.

You of all people pop on, just after Hillary gets this crazy massive surge of support, after having had pretty much none up til now.

I'm not going to make any more statements beyond this. Just putting out there for all of us who've been around since you started having a presence here.

People can draw their own conclusions as to what I mean.

It's ok Puppy, we knew the software was corruptible from the start. I'm not sure all the votes are from Americans or actual breathing humans, some vote twice.......Wait are we talking about the actual elections or polling?

Looks like someone has gone in and manipulated the polling data. Several hours ago, it had Trump with over 7,000 votes. Looks like those were removed, and it looks like votes have since been added to Hillary.

As was pointed out: the poll is available to those outside of ATS, so that invalidated it as being a "ATS" poll.

Whether the 7k plus votes that Trump had was valid or not (IE someone manipulating the poll) was unknown at the time.

But now that someone has gone in and removed and changed the polling numbers, they have completely destroyed the credibility of the poll now. I now can no longer even think of trusting any of the numbers, no mater whom it is showing in the lead, etc.

Again: the OP has done an excellent job showing us that polls really in the end mean nothing. The numbers can be messed with. The numbers can be influenced by things outside of the control of the people running the poll, and of course, if someone wants to bad enough, they can make any poll say anything they want.

Yah, look, in the time it took me to make the above post, over 200 votes were added to Hillary. In just a few minutes.

Someone is manipulating the numbers.

Yup, Hillary is suddenly and before our very eyes, once again magically rising to divinity status in a poll.

Polls aren't rigged for Hillary at all. No one's attacking every poll to skew the results at all...

These results completely legitimate like all other polls.
