I could have written this post myself and ironically now work in care myself, also on the extreme end.

As Skalla said these jobs have a shelf life that's fairly short. I'd balance the karma and move on. Just about to myself. I could do it on call or part time but full time abuse... The money has to be there and stacking shelves looks pretty good at this point for me too!

I couldn't do it mate. I work in a care home as a chef, nothing but admiration for the carers, see them extremely stressed at times. Sometimes feel bad that I make a bit more than them just for cooking.

Wow man--god bless you. But don't take the physical abuse please. Don't hurt him but don't allow him to hurt you. Back away, hold him, tell his doctor and get him some benzos or something. I don't know but don't let someone injure you. Can you provide more detail on how this abuse begins? Outline the warning signs, then the progression. Maybe if you made a list of what happened we could all see a way to stop the cycle perhaps?

I can't say to much due to confidentiality laws but the signs are very quick he can be laughing and singing then bang.
I would never hurt him I just press my alarm and attempt to flee until help arrives and by then he is already signing sorry sorry so no need to safe hold.
I get hit often but this guy hits like a bus.

Its bloody terrible how you guy in the carer jobs get such low wages.

Then the gov moans how in many places there is low standards or care and abuse.

Cant these morons see that low pay attracts low standards ?

People who can do the job are attracted elsewere.


Worst I saw was a freind of JSA he was given the choice of working are a carer or loseing his benifits, this guy has very limited empathy......and they again wonder why there is poor standards of care....

You sir are a gentle soul, i have seen the hardship that care workers go through, they get payed dirt cheap and they are super heroes for the people they help. Sorry for your pain, i hope karma swings your way.

Some pepper spray or thorazine sounds more like the formula for this douche bag. Sorry care workers are treated this way, I have many nurse friends that have suffered some serious pain as a result of trying to help people.
