would you advocate that a child not be taught these things, and then die at the hands of an intruder, because they lacked the knowledge to properly defend themselves?

it seems to me that the child wouldn't get any older, as that's very difficult to do when you're dead.

I've shot an uzi and other automatic weapons and have learned that you never, let me repeat....NEVER hand an automatic weapon to an un-experienced shooter, let alone a 9 yr old.

Actually the gun instructors life was revoked in addition to his license.

Fully automatic weapon in the hands of a 9 year old = Dummy

I teach my whole family to shoot and my son shot lots of guns at 9 and I still wouldn't let him shoot a fully auto uzi and he is 14 now.

If you can't be bothered to look, Georgia is the 8th safest country to live in, Russia lies at 92nd position.

Georgia also shares a border with Turkey, which is in 58th position.

I saw the footage on TV. There was no stock on the machine pistol and the recoil forced the gun up and over as the child held it in front of her . Who would think a 9 yr old girl could competently hold a fully auto machine pistol? I'm all for teaching gun safety to kids and I hope my daughter will start to shoot soon but she won't be allowed loose on anymore than a .22 semi rifle

No his children and wife will be paying the price because they are still alive. The dead don't know anything. I hope therapy will help the girl understand that the fault is her parents, not hers.

If only the gun instructor had a gun, he would still be alive.

It's already been said...But a 9 year old girl should not be using an automatic weapon as her first exposure to a firearm.

An issue that was caused by his own foolish actions. Not the NRA, not the millions of law abiding gun owners, not IMI, just him and some stupid New Jersey parents that thought it would be cool to shoot a machine gun just like in the movies. No different than putting your 9 year old in a car and letting her take it for a spin.
