Thank you for that. I've never seen anything like that, in plain old laymans english. Now I know. But to be truthful, I'd still give ATS some credit if it ever happened. Without this site, I don't think the writing bug would have ever bit me, but rather have remained a itch.

And stop yelling at me.

You know what I noticed many years ago, that topics posted on alternative sites were used by writers and in movies.

I'll cop to that...

As a New Media producer, screenwriter, filmmaker; i search the web for outlandish threads, posts, rants, ideas and themes.

ATS used to be the best source for weirdness but has become mainly a place for politics and religion, not really alternative high strangeness; the subjects I build my screenplays around.

Every writer for film or TV I know, uses the web for inspiration. And not limited to writers...all artists are aware of that the interwebs has influenced culture and it reflects in their art.

Am I a thief....

If you know where your idea came from and don't give credit to the person, and then have a success with their idea, yep. Unless you either credit them or give them their share (ten percent should do it). I write plenty of stuff outside of ATS, and almost all of it is from my own imagination. When it's based on a news item, the news article gets credit. I'm very glad I don't fall into the realm of using someone else's stuff, at least on a conscious level.

The way everyone is making money off of a lot of the content on ATS,

How do you know this? Do you have an example of someone making money from an idea found exclusively on ATS?

Nope, no proof. Just threw it out there.

I thought ATS was more of an open forum where the idea was to get the information or truth "out there". I would think that other media sources picking up what is shared here is a positive for both ATS and it's members even if no credit is given. If you share anything for which you hope to later reap profits on, either financially or on an acknowledgement basis, then you only have yourself to blame.

The ideas presented on ATS are not in any way original, and therefore it would be impossible to prove that those mentioned in the OP steal from ATS.

If you honestly think your posts and ideas are new, you are a sad person indeed.

Ya seems legit.. Nothing on ATS was ever original..

WCIP's thread off hand comes to mind of originality and was probably one of the 1st theories out there that specifically goes through in detail on how the NIST's report about WTC 7 was wrong..

Also would like to point out that there are many many other posts out there that do the same thing.. As for same ol same ol news.. Meh maybe but it seems that a lot of things talked about on here end up somewhere else TV radio or what not weeks or so later..

Coincidence? There is no such thing as confidences....

If you do a post here with a truly innovative perspective, wait six months and then Google your unique perspectives. I bet your earlier posting will pop up on their first page of search results.
