Although small, the area near the Mendocino triple junction keeps on giving (region near the Mag 6.8, 10 days ago).

Edited to add a picture of the nonsensical amount of activity in Oklahoma over the past month (mag 2.5 and larger).
That's almost as many earthquakes as off the northern California coast over the same time...including aftershocks from the Mag 6.8-SMH!

My house just jolted, very short episode. I am in So Cal and there is no mention of an earthquake. I felt the last 2 over the last week that were 3.9 and 4.4. Oh well, guess I'm very sensitive lately. My senses are telling me a large quake is coming, not due to any type of premonition, just that we've not had a big one in a long time an now I've felt 2-3 I a week.

Edit to add: ABC7.com earthquake cam is gone from their site, so I was not able to verify what I felt.

I've been watching the shakers heating up out there from here in the east. I agree with you that a 'big one' will happen in the near future. You don't have to be a psychic to see this. Stay vigilant.

It does seem like something is brewing for your area. I have this weird hunch that it could be on the east side of the Sierra Nevada--not in LA basin directly--but who knows? ( my hunches hardly ever pan out, lol).

I did get the ABC7 cam to load.

Take care.

A moderately deep Mag 4.4 out in the South Taranaki Bight, north island of New Zealand.
That's in your neck of the woods isn't it, Muzzy?

Geonet also say 4.4.

Yes it is 63km away
12:16:36 am, 118km deep, didn't feel it, was sound asleep
at that low magnitude it would need to be within 50km radius and less than 50km deep to feel it even if you were awake.

Muzzys Rule .....

"when the TTNT energy released drops below #10 there will be a M5+ within 6 days"

The only problem is what data you base it on. Up till now I was just using Geonet, New Zealand coverage.
The M5+ events I marked were listed on Geonet, a lot of those were in the Kermadec Is, or South of the Kermadec Is.
But Geonet don't always list them......
Just this month there were 2 magnitude 5.7's and a M5 up there that never showed on the Geonet downloads.
According to Muzzys Rule the TTNT dropped to 8 on the 2nd March so there should have been a M5+
According to Geonet ............. nothing.
But yes there was a 5.7 at the Kermadec Islands 5 days later on the 7th!
Geofon picked it up and listed it, and IRIS showed it on the RAOL webicorder
same with the one on the 19th, another 5.7 up there, and the TTNT the day before was 10.501, border line to the #10 rule.

So I have decided to include Geofon Kermadec data in the graphs

I will go back and see what the situation was for Jan and Feb, it may in fact alter the results and make the % of accuracy of the Rule higher. ( or totally trash it if there are too many 5's )

What is going on in Oklahoma?

Yes, and no
yuck.
We're back up to 4M with one of the ones today. We're above the one or two 2.5M a day. We're now averaging about three or four a day on a normal day. So, is out of the ordinary? Yes, and no. Will there be a disaster in Oklahoma today? I'd be shocked but not surprised because nothing in Oklahoma is normal anymore. Oh, I forgot to put up an article on fracking in California causing earthquakes. Can't find it now. On the laptop. grrr.

world wide, I should have told you all that the Baja was due.

I was, in fact I am expecting an 8, or at least a big 7. (But then again I am probably wrong)

Interesting pattern there. Bunch of quake, then a gap and then a long tine of deeper quakes.

Google Map for EMSC 2+ at the bottom of the page.

There sure has been a ton of energy released in that area.

Either it has been a slow release of tension over a few weeks of shaking, or we are about to see a very big quake.

What a sequence of foreshocks if this is the case!!
