“The scriptures are of little use to those who understand them as they are written.”
—Origen
“The scriptures were written by the Spirit of God, and have meanings, not as they appear at the first sight (literal interpretation), but also others, which escape the notice of most. For those (words) which are written are the forms of certain mysteries, and the images of divine matters.”
—Origen
“There is nothing so easy as be sheer volubility to deceive a common crowd or an uneducated congregation.”
—St. Jerome (Epistle to Nepostian, Lii, 8.)
“How it may be lawful and fitting to use falsehood as a Medicine, and for the benefit of those who want to be deceived.”
—Eusebius (12th Book of Evangelical Preparation, 32 chapter)

What do you think we should do about it?
What do you think all the charity orgs and hospitals and other Christian orgs are all for? Whom do you think marshals large groups of people to muster to disaster zones to help out every time something nasty happens in this nation regardless of the faith of the people touched?
But ... no, we don't do anything to help people. Go on believing that.

My ignorance? Many who claim to be Christian are in name only. I was referring to the new birth via the spirit of God through Christ. Going to a church does not make me a Christian. I would be careful in calling others ignorant.

Oh and by the way it isn't just the Bible that predicts the end, most cultures and religions do, including Native American and Buddhism.
Maybe an ancient memory of past events stored in our DNA

That or their are forces at play that have a script and a plan,
This could both be natural (secret orders, as suggested) Or supernatural.
Either way it would behoove oneself to know the script someone seems to be playing off of...
I always like watching these threads, as you get to see the rhetoric and ignorance of both sides at play.
From the theists that don't understand their own theology... To the atheist, and its always funny to me that it is the Juedo Christian threads that get the most action from them, Don't often see them trolling the Wiccan/Shamanic/Buddhist/or just about any other "supernatural" Topic threads.
Because lets be honest, if your an atheist than this should fall under such speculative threads as Ghost, Aliens, Big Foot, or just about any speculative topic on ATS. But its Christianity that gets the wild hair up their asses...

This mostly attributed to the case that shammans, wiccans, and buddhists, arent in charge of changing the legislation of our governments. They are easily ignored. But when the potus starts blowing the horns of war based on his "beliefs" or any legislation is passed based on an outdated view of how the world works, then the educated minority takes notice.

You do know the Jesus and Christianity is not even near the most widely practiced religion on the planet don't you?
I don't generally get involved in religious debates, but I just wanted to jump in and point out your ignorance while passing through.
The world's 20 largest religions and their number of believers are:
Christianity (2.1 billion)
Islam (1.3 billion)
Nonreligious (Secular/Agnostic/Atheist) (1.1 billion)
Hinduism (900 million)
Chinese traditional religion (394 million)
Buddhism 376 million
Primal-indigenous (300 million)
African traditional and Diasporic (100 million)
Sikhism (23 million)
Juche (19 million)
Spiritism (15 million)
Judaism (14 million)
Bahai (7 million)
Jainism (4.2 million)
Shinto (4 million)
Cao Dai (4 million)
Zoroastrianism (2.6 million)
Tenrikyo (2 million)
Neo-Paganism (1 million)
Unitarian-Universalism (800,000)

So, yes Christianity is in fact the most widely practiced religion on the planet.
