Ok this one I am not certain about. But maybe we can work together to find out the truth. If this is in fact true, then this is nothing short of outrageous. First the Obama admin outsources the website production to Canada and now possibly the call center to India? Just think of the jobs this could have created in the US! Does Obama hate the US or what?

People are dialing the 1-800 number to Obamacare and getting a Call center in India!! What do you think people, has Obama outsourced Obamacare call center to India!!

Is Obamacare call center being Outsourced to India? Listen to this recording!!

I don'y know? does the HUD shut down special built apartments for deaf people because there are too many deaf people living in them? apparently so. And why not farm it out to canada or india or shang-ri-la, they all have exactly the same chance of figuring it out. ZERO! Which is what I plan on contributing to political activism in the next 8,000,000,000 years !

Oh I promise to look into this more. I am just waiting for an influx of fresh info on this. If anyone else can find anything please give a holler.

But if this is our tax dollars at work, shouldn't our elected representatives be able to find this out? Or at the least we can via a FOIA?

This is the number for the California exchange. In Illinois they most definitely outsource to India. We are talking about the national number. Are you trying to sway opinion with false data?

While everyone debates the policy points of ObamaCare, few understand that billions of dollars in IT contracts are wrapped inside the law. To meet federal mandates, states must upgrade their legacy Medicaid Management Information Systems (MMIS). These IT contracts are some of the largest awards in state history.

Last week, Illinois Governor Patrick Quinn became national news for circumventing a three year procurement process on up to $190 million in no-bid IT contracts. Now we find that one of the largest bid-contract MMIS awards will outsource state jobs to India.

In June, Illinois Governor Patrick Quinn's administration awarded a ten year $71.4 million staffing contract to Cognizant Technology Solutions. Cognizant ranks in the national top 10 for procuring H-1B visa workers. Evidence shows that the company is staffing operational headquarters in Chennai and Bangalore, India for the Illinois work.

In the case of ObamaCare implementation in Illinois, H-1B workers are replacing state employees and other state positions are being outsourced to Cognizant facilities in India. If this saved taxpayers money for better outcomes, Governor Quinn might have an argument. But at $218K of spending to replace $50K Illinois state jobs, it doesn't look that way

Hey,
India has some very good call center people.
Don't they deserve to gain by the continued bleeding out of the American worker?

The rest of the world understands that the US government is intentionally destroying the American economy and reducing the income and quality of life of American citizens so that they can be more easily ruled....er, led.

So, if the US government is going to bleed us out and continue to borrow money to give away...why shouldn't someone in India get a job out of it?

This is what I found: Jobs to India

Guest Post by Adam Andrzejewski, founder of www.openthebooks.com and a former candidate for Governor of Illinois.

Implementing ObamaCare by Outsourcing Illinois Jobs to India
$71.4 million contract goes to a national leading outsourcing firm

CHICAGO- While everyone debates the policy points of ObamaCare, few understand that billions of dollars in IT contracts are wrapped inside the law.

In June, Illinois Governor Patrick Quinn’s administration awarded a ten year $71.4 million staffing contract to Cognizant Technology Solutions. Cognizant ranks in the national top 10 for procuring H-1B visa workers. Evidence shows that the company is staffing operational headquarters in Chennai and Bangalore, India for the Illinois work.

Our research at openthebooks.com highlights an issue that will be hotly debated in the contested Democratic primary for governor. How will Governor Quinn justify the outsourcing of state jobs to India at a time when Illinois has the second highest unemployment in the country?

State employees and managers willing to blow the whistle point out that these are not IT experts on H-1B visas coming in to save Illinois, but that “recent college graduates from India are very unlikely to be experts in Illinois-Medicaid.”

Former White House Chief of Staff Bill Daley, who is challenging the incumbent governor, is likely to make an issue of Quinn’s ten year plan to replace Illinois-based workers with permanent H-1B visa contractors and using off-shore facilities for additional work.

According to federal planning documents, Cognizant is set to charge Illinois up to $109.28/ hour, or $218,560 per position per year, for the work. This far exceeds the $75/ hour, or $150,000 annual cost, of even the most senior state experts- even after accounting for health insurance and pension costs.

Business model uses H-1B visas and off-shoring facilities
For many years, Cognizant has been a national leader in the procurement of H-1B visa approvals and use of off-shore facilities. Currently, it is ranked 7th nationally according to myvisajobs.com. Since 2000, Cognizant was approved for 10,014 H-1B visas and 4,661 green cards as compiled by visasquare.com...

NOT NICE!

This is slightly off topic but a wonderful read From INDIAWEST Your Global Indian Community: Obamacare and Its Cons.

Since its inception, Obama’s health care reform bill has attracted a lot of attention from political parties, businesses and media outlets. In my last blog post, I wrote about some of the “good things” the new health care law has to offer. In this post, I will discuss some of the negative affects of the heath care reform. Is this law really worth the hassle? I will let you be the judge of that. Here are some of the cons....

As I have mentioned, the real effects of the health care reform bill is yet to be seen. At this point, it just seems like a huge gamble taken by our dear government. I can only hope for the best for the middle class, the one who usually suffers.

The really delicious part is the one comment to the INDIAWEST article.

Costa Rica's Call Center
OBAMACARE promotes outsourcing in Central America.

Enacted in July 2010, The U.S. healthcare reform (“ObamaCare” or the “Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act”) is intended to pressure large and small employers through force and taxation.

The end result will show North American companies deciding to send customer support, sales, lead generation and appointment setting jobs offshore or risk going out of business. Many will decide to hire a dedicated bilingual employee who is 100% committed to their project.

ESL call center employees in Costa Rica are just as or more effective than transitional in-house staff. In addition, giving the owners the freedom to scale up their offshore staff without getting caught in the Obamacare challenge in 2014.

www.obamacareoutsourcing.com...

There is more than one type of outsourcing linked to Obamacare.

Next time read the whole article. This system in Illinois has been in place since 05.

Danny Tribble, a Health and Family Services Specialist, started working on the Illinois MMIS system in 2005. After eight years, Tribble's 2012 salary was $58,604. James Gamble is an MMIS Expert and after seven years makes $97,322. Both employees and many others like them will have their jobs cut, while contracts call for Cognizant to be paid more for the same work.

They are wanting to expand it to include Obamacare it didn't start because of Obamacare.

This is disturbing the trend here to distort things and sway the topic in a different direction. Never once did I say that it was created just for Obamacare. But what I did say is that is that we are talking about on a national level and to please keep on topic. And I am repeating this once again. If you wish to discuss the state call centers, please feel free to start your own thread.

So I repeat for everyone here, this thread concerns the 1-800 number provided on healthcare.gov.

What, glad that you were deceived? I am talking about the national call center number for the healthcare.gov website. You know the one that the Obama admin is responsible for?

Bustenr2010 lied and presented info about the state sponsored exchange in California alone as proof. Shameful!

So we are still looking for information to back up the claim that the national call center outsources to India. And this is where we presently stand. And I would appreciate help finding the answers.
