Global Consciousness Project 24 hr graph red last 12 hours (what do you think? )

I have checked this many times over the years and never have seen it it red for any length of time.

How can the planet be aware of something that has not happened yet?
Or has it and we just don't know yet?

Thanks for the link. If I read the egg data correctly it seems to be mostly 1004 that is very synchronious. echoes.northpole.ak

The right soul near a measuring point can probably screw up the measuring.

Could the red/pink dot be indicative of the messiah stopping the indian cyclone with his mind from being something catastrophic...

The GCP website is really lagging at the moment. I only managed to load the dot thingy once and it seems to be totally maxed out in the red zone for at least the last 6 hours, which is very strange indeed based on what I've seen it do in the past. Pretty strange timing too.

Collect random info of unlikely importance.
"Organize" it into a graph.
Pretend as if it could have some kind of connection to "Global Consciousness"--whatever that is.
Make a Web Page out of it.

This is pretty crazy. I am not a doom and gloom or negative person but I woke up this morning in a weird mood, like something bad was about to happen. I usually don't pray or meditate but I have a very strong sensation to do so now. The last time I had this feeling was right before I went to work the night of the japan earthquake in 2011. I have spent all morning wondering why I am feeling this way and trying to shake this feeling. I thought maybe I had one of those dreams that seem to affect you all week but I could not remember any dream and I usually do.

It seems that many people have grossly distorted interpretations of what this project actually does. It's nothing more than a system which analyzes the "randomness" of random numbers generated by quantum random number generators located all around the world (the quantum part is important because quantum phenomena are the only real source of truly random numbers).

When human consciousness becomes coherent and synchronized, the behavior of random systems may change. Quantum event based random number generators (RNGs) produce completely unpredictable sequences of zeroes and ones. But when a great event synchronizes the feelings of millions of people, our network of RNGs becomes subtly structured. The probability is less than one in a billion that the effect is due to chance. The evidence suggests an emerging noosphere, or the unifying field of consciousness described by sages in all cultures.

The Global Consciousness Project is an international, multidisciplinary collaboration of scientists and engineers. We collect data continuously from a global network of physical random number generators located in 70 host sites around the world. The data are transmitted to a central archive which now contains more than 12 years of random data in parallel sequences of synchronized 200-bit trials every second.

Our purpose is to examine subtle correlations that reflect the presence and activity of consciousness in the world. We hypothesize that there will be structure in what should be random data, associated with major global events. Thanks for the alert on this. It'll will be very interesting, to say the least, to see if a major event comes to light.

I wasn't schooled on the whole "dot" thing, so I had to go look at the website and see what it means. This link explains it and I'll cut and paste some relevant parts below.

The Real Time Dot

This is a real time data analysis of the Global Consciousness Project. It collects the data each minute and runs statistics on the stream of random numbers generated by the project. This analysis is run 10 minutes behind the generation of the data. In this way, it can be seen as a real-time indicator of global consciousness coherence.

How it Works

The Global Consciousness Project collects random numbers from around the world. These numbers are available on the GCP website. This website downloads those numbers once a minute and performs sophisticated analysis on these random numbers to see how coherent they are. That is, we compute how random the random numbers coming from the eggs really are. The theory is that the Global Consciousness of all Beings of the Planet affect these random numbers... Maybe they aren't quite as random as we thought.

There is a key to the dots on that page linked above, and for red dot it says...

Significantly large network variance. Suggests broadly shared coherence of thought and emotion. The index is less than 5%

But there is also this disclaimer:

These colors can fade between each other so it's possible to have, for example, a yellow-orange-ish or a green-yellow-ish color. Please don't strongly interpret the dot!

OP, good post, I was previously unaware that there was such a project to track the so-called collective subconscious (unconscious?).
Further, something is up, without wanting to sound irrational there is something in the air, and this is further precipitated by the behavior of animals nearby. It also seems a lot of people posting here on ATS (apparently a common occurence, I'm new to ATS having been lurking for about a week making my account today), and around the web about sensing some vibe of change,or doom or what have you. Cheers

Yes, we all would like a little warning or head start should the SHTF , this isn't going to tell or show us what's up just that there is concern. Maybe we are all worried your not having a good birthday!

I read somewhere in the source that an abnormality could be either a positive or negative event. If the data and theory is correct this only says it could be a big event/change.

The nebulous "They" have taken action and used tools in a way that has awoken a sleeping giant. "They" do not hold the power "They" think they do, nor do "They" hold the power that many have assigned to them (frequently in apathy and hopelessness).

The direction it all takes will be up to individuals choices on a global scale. This means you.

Or, it could have just been a collective passing of gas by the masses, wherein a mass sigh of relief ensued for hours on end.

One or the other. Maybe..

Both really interesting.

As far as the dot being Pink? I have seen act weird before or it just goes blank, but I have not seen it like this.

Question for the physics people, could this on going level of consciousness lead to self fulfillment?
But for what? Doom porn offers so many varied options. Could we have them all self fulfill at once?
Activity on the Sun has picked up. Think we all would know that, feel it?

Just makes for more questions, however the need for answers is curious.

The determination of "what will be" is going to be determined by individuals decisions. The event itself is neither positive nor negative, but what we do with it can most certainly be ascribed those attributes.

By the responses in the thread, looks like it will not be a change for the better. Luckily, I do not think its a large enough sample to be even remotely relevant (and given the source, ATS, we have a tendency towards doom and gloom).

Some have been attempting to guide things on a more subtle scale, but this has led to somewhat of a cart without a horse. Things are a bit more direct now, and that will manifest in numerous different ways but with one unifying theme. That theme is that the delta between the crest and trough of a multitude of oscillations/cycles will increase. It essentially correlates to a greater intensity of "stuff," with deeper polarizations especially in subjectively driven systems (animals/humans).

Or, it could be the vast electromagnetic communications network is becoming self-aware.

Or, due to lack of quality control of governmental organizations, we are led back to the "bad gas syndrome."

As with all things in this arena, only time will tell. Could just be a computer glitch.

First off - S&F for bringing this to my attention. I'd never heard of it and find the project extremely interesting. It's right in my wheelhouse as I also straddle both science and metaphysics and it's always great to see someone trying to merge the two. There are some posters here who are excellent at this too - one of the reasons I love this place.

Anyway - does anyone know if GCP or anyone else tracks these long time "divergences" so that we can compare how much of an event this really is?

24hrs+ would seem to be quite an anomaly but for all I know it happens often.
