Britain to give 52 millions in aid to Siria

www.mailonsunday.co.uk

David Cameron today announced an additional £52 million in UK aid for victims of the civil war in Syria, as the G20 summit in St Petersburg saw stark division over the international response to allegations of chemical weapons use by the regime of President Bashar Assad
Much of the new money will go towards medical training and equipment to help civilians targeted by chemical attacks.

With (once) Great Britain sinking futher and further into economic decline, we find 52 million quid that we didn't have to inject into the NHS, housing, welfare etc to give to a country which we are about to blast into the stone age...

There is someting just so wrong with that.

When in Britain you dont have to wait 10 years for a liver transplant, when in Britain people dont live under bridges and when in Britain everyone has a job and decent salaries..then and only then will i find it morally correct to give a country with which we are about to (probably) go to war, 52 million quid, (which aparantly they didn't have hence so many cut backs and job losses).

It's ironic that money will go to medical services in Siria whilst the NHS is falling apart...

Im not hard hearted but i do believe that charity begins at home in these circumstances.

Op I agree with you and also you do know that the British government has a £35b defence budget too and they won't cut that to save our NHS or even help people in our own country, but they will cut benefits and make them pay bedroom tax while they themselves get more then one house paid by guess who yep tax payers. They should have to pay bedroom tax as its tax payers who are paying their wages. also the royal family should pay too just look at their spare rooms omg talk about hypercrits when everyone else has to obey the law and they don't.

Hypocrisy is the name of the game...

The government claim there isnt enough in the kitty to feed, house or cure evryone in the UK.

Hence new taxes and constant cutbacks of essential services.

However, suddenly we find 52,000,000 pounds to give to a country run by a "so called dictator" to give medical aid to the hundreds wounded by a nerve gas attack that was probably paid for and done by the very "freedom fighters" that the UK support.

The "freedom fighters" that the UK and the US pay for and support will without doubt be turned into Al Qaeda "terrorists" in a couple of years.

So when this 52,000,000 gets to Siria, some if not a lot will end up in the hands of the rebels, with which they will probably buy arms, some will go to the hospitals.

Then the US will invade and the rebels/Al Qaeda will kill them with arms paid for by the UK taxpayer...

If it goes to the Syria refugee camp in Jordan, than yes. 52 million$ could go a long ways.

I wonder how many corrupt hands will be dipping in it whilst on route though?

I'll dare bet there's a hefty chunk of it missing by the time it gets to the Syrian refugees.

I'd rather see the money going to aid for civilians rather than see it going towards engaging in World War III. That being said, I'm sure the Brits would rather see the money spent at home on the Brits. There are plenty of poor Brits who can use it.
