Yes, I had to get official publication clearance for my two sci-fi novels, Operation Thunder Child and Operation Lightning Strike. This was primarily because I'd written them as techno-thrillers where the MoD and the RAF were key players. As such, I needed to ensure that I hadn't inadvertently strayed into areas that were classified, in relation to military strategy, doctrine and tactics, Rules of Engagement, equipment capability, etc. I'm glad you enjoyed the books and I hope to write some more sci-fi at some point in the future.

Would you say "if their is life"coming from elsewhere, in your opinion are they inter-stellar or inter- dimensional. I just cant see for myself a lifeform traveling across the comos to visit the little blue ball of hate.

Welcome to ATS, Mr. Pope!

First off, I'd like to thank you for giving us this chance. It's great seeing someone so well-known taking the time to answer our questions. I've read through many of the questions and answers, but I've yet to see this asked. I apologize if it already has been, or if there's anything I'm missing, but here goes anyways.

What is your take on the video posted this May of Canada's Minister of National Defense? His cabinet rank may or may not be enough to consider this credible, and I've seen no hard evidence or anything leading me to believe this is true, aside from his position. Do you believe there's any truth to this? Or anything specifically you'd like to clear up?

So to your knowledge none of the crashes that took place in the UK ever produced bodies or technology that was then sent to Preston Down?

Thank you so much for your reply. I will continue reading your excellent answers to the questions of others on this thread, and I am really grateful you have answered mine.

Wishing you well...

I don't think I can comment much on future technological breakthroughs, but a few years ago I was involved (both as a consultant and a contributor) on a TV series called "That's Impossible", looking at subjects such as invisibility, robotics, weather weapons, nanotechnology, etc. I suspect these are the sorts of areas to watch.

Well, thank you for that, Sir! Probably the most helpful and personally appreciated answer here so far. If the reply is as seemingly educated--and transparent--at is infers. From the subject matter addressed, I tend to think it is an educated answer.

I had previously decided to only watch this thread from the sidelines because of two admissions, or inferences, from you. Those being:

1.) You have no personal or professional knowledge as relates to ufology of an anomalous nature, and,

2.) The limitations of your security oath.

How could we expect anything of import, then, I imagined?

However, the above response deserves respect and therefore I do have a question after all:

Many writers/theorists talk about how far the "lag" distance is between what the public knows and what the intel-science community knows as regards high-technology. As such, how far ahead do you reckon the "hidden" scientific knowledge is from what we, the public, know?

Thank you and best wishes in your endeavors.

Next:

1. Given all the different modes, programs, conferences, venues you've experienced on the topic . . . how would you characterize ATS and this thread so far compared to all those others such?

2. Approximately how many times have military and/or other "lofty" personages "in the know" come across you, or vice versa . . . and they have indicated some way or other that the topic had a lot more import than was publicly acknowledged vs how many still spoke and acted as though it was nothing much of a topic?

Or what percentage on one side vs the other side as above?

3. Is there anything you can talk about that you regret not doing MORE of when you were in the MOD job?

4. As you speculate about the next 1-5 years . . . what are your 3 major concerns--in general in the body politic, on the planet, for the average citizen etc?

5. AS you speculate about the next 1-5 years, what 3 major things do you have the most peaceful confidence about?

6. A shrink's curiosity . . . how would you describe your father and your relationship with him, if I may be so bold? I love learning what went into making the person I'm interacting with. . . . particularly someone such as yourself who seems so above average confident and at home in your own skin and so well able to handle a diversity of interactions from such a wide diversity of often REAL CHARACTERS in a subject area somewhat populated with birds of rare plumage.

Hello Nick,

I'm probably the only one on this site that doesn't know you.

My question is: Assuming that there is intelligent life out there, and they have been visiting earth, do you see their intentions as being more beneficial (as in, to interact with us peacefully, share knowledge & ideas), or harmful (looking to mine the planet for resources, knock us out before we become a "truly" space-faring species...make us their dinner)?

Also, supposing the same thing above, do you feel there is more than one group that has been visiting us?

Final question: The old saying goes "to hide something effectively, it must be in plain sight" - What's your take on the "aliens living among us" theory?

Even if my questions don't get answered, I'm still going through the 19-ish pages, as I love reading this stuff.

Welcome to ATS. I just wanted to know if you possibly knew about an incedient that happend a while back, apparently the MOD had UFO pictures sent in to them which were actually pictures of an American black project. Do you know anything about that particular incedient?

Thanks

My grandfather co-created MUFON. He was chairman for one year and passed it to his colleague. He is still a researcher and has many connections in the field.

Nick Pope has the same intelligence that I have at this point, which is none. My grandfather and I are very close to this day, he persuades me to not question UFO's and aliens because, in his words "it leads to more questions than answers".

It is in my firm belief that aliens or ufo's are not visiting us.

Sorry guys

Hey Nick,
Welcome and Thank You for Sharing with us Curious Members!

I have some friends and associates that have spent much time at sea.
Almost all of them have an interesting story to tell about events that appear to defy logic,
and our general understanding of the world around us.

Is there one or two unexplained events reported that stand out in your memory
that you would be comfortable sharing with us?

Best Regards, Wildmanimal S&F

Greetings Nick!

Steven Grier is someone that some ATS'ers love to hate. As I believe you have done some work with him, and The Disclosure Project, could you give us your take on him and TDP?

Thanks Mate!

Mr. Pope,
I had an up close event with some, let's say, beings late one night about 3am one late April night in 2009. These beings approached from over a tree line behind my house in a craft that made no sound and looked like to amber balls of light connected. I was certain they were returning for me though I can't say how I knew it, but they had been in my house earlier. Later on I would discover a strange mark on my body that would change shapes for about a month before disappearing. When the craft got close enough so that it was less than 100 feet away from me looking up at about a 45 degree angle, I saw the beings inside, but only opaquely. As I gazed up at them in wonderment I asked myself what they were and to my surprise I saw in my mind as if on a screen the word Nephelim. I immediately understood that what they were saying was that they were ancient, had been here all along, and that the earth was their world, or so they insisted and believed. I just simply seemed to know all this all at once. This then frightened me a bit. Being a Christian and believing they were somehow communicating with me by thought I told them they had nothing on me and that I belonged to Jesus Christ. Suddenly the craft banked left and went over a house and disappeared. Any further communication stopped as well.

So my question to you is this. In your experience, has any kind of evidence been gotten suggesting that these UFO aliens are in fact terrestrial and more advanced having been here all along as they had communicated to me.

Many thanks!

Naw that's not it, that's an artists impression. The original has disappeared apparently. Just a photocopy of a sketch used in the investigation remains, i have it in my images somewhere but it is underwhelming, I would love to see the real photo.

I asked my DIS opposite number about the image. I was told that the official assessment was that the photos were real and the craft had a diameter of around 25 metres (over 80 feet). At one particularly surreal briefing on the UFO phenomenon my DIS opposite number indicated the photo and pointed his finger to the right: “It’s not the Americans”, he said, before pointing to the left and saying “and it’s not the Russians”. There was a pause, before he concluded “and that only leaves …” - his voice trailed off and he didn’t complete the sentence, but his finger was pointing directly upwards.

I don't know if the photos or negatives will ever turn up, but I certainly hope they do. Because whatever peoples’ views on UFOs, these are the photos that changed the minds of numerous skeptical civil servants, military personnel and intelligence specialists at MoD. I should know. I was one of them.

That's from Mr Popes site he linked earlier in the thread here

Welcome to ATS Mr. Pope! I and everyone else here appreciates your time here.

I have a question about these photographs of the moon supposedly taken by a Soviet lunar probe, which depict a structure and I have not been able to get any more information about them and as far as I know, is rarely discussed in the internet and maybe you could provide an explanation and even find it interesting.

Once again thank you for being here, I hope you and take care!

Hello and Thank you Sir giving us the opportunity to share our questions.I've had so many questions over the last 26 years, but will ask only two.

My question is...Aprox. 16 years ago despite not having the absolute physical proof to in hand, I became 100% convinced that the subject was very real and then became rather annoyed by the secrecy which surrounds the whole subject of UFO'S.

#1.At what point in time were you convinced that this was real phenomena
#2. secondly what was the definitive proof that brought you to that conclusion (if even the case)?

Thank you again.
