I have done countless search's to try and find out how many planes the likes of Russia, America & China have. Also detailed one to find out how many of each typer of plane they have.

If anyone has some reliable links they could post, could they do so.

Russian airforce - past, present and future

China airforce

detailed info about world airforces, armys, navies, bases, organizatins..

It's interesting to see for example that Russia still uses a lot of Mig-23.

Ironically I was not able to find simillar detailed info about USAF, maybe you will have more luck.

Hmm, but I don't know how many of their planes are really ready for combat.
But I found another interesting fact: they had only 90 Su-27 at the end of cold war. I thought they were much more powerfull, in case of conventional conflict their 90 Su-27,540 Mig-29,and 200 Mig-31 would have hard time beating +/- 400 F-15 and 2000 F-16. Not to mention naval F-14,f-18, AWACS advantage and the NATO allies (especially France with their Mirage 2000)

It's not "all in one place" you need look at the globalsecurity for each aircraft and in section "specifications" is the number of the planes in active service, reserve etc.

current USAF planes

For example here is the number of f-16 produced and in active service.

I like the Mig-23, it has stylish variable sweep wings and with updated sensors and latest tech missiles it can be a decent fighter/attack aircraft. When i play as any of the eastern european countries in the computer game "superpower" i always build large squadrons of them and they have served me well. If nothing more it looks good

The nose and wings looks good, but the tail is really ugly.

russia might have 6784 planes, but they say that only 1 in 3 are actually active and serviceable regrettably, so that comes out to=approximately 2261 aircraft
