Conceivably Bush is a dictator in a democratic country considering the Congress will pass anything he wants because it is comprised of a majority of Republicans. He does not give any consideration to Democrats thoughts on anything at all, so how is he not a dictator?
Ok, haha, so let me get this straight. Congress is the "One" person having absolute authority!? hahaaa! Face it, this Bush is a dictator argument is B.S. at best! One party is just about always going to have a few more seats in the house and senate. You can't always have it completely equal. This just makes it even more democratic! The people of our country elected these officials. How is this a dictatorship? Face it, if you're saying Bush is a dictator, you lose! With our system of government, it's impossible for one to become a dicator.
Amen. Whats it going to take for Bush followers to wake up and say:"Hey, those people might have something there"

Bush is not a dictator. Not on his own merits.
However, the ones that pull his strings from behind the scenes, they are another matter.

Bush doesn't have any more power than any other politician. People VOTED HIM IN. People VOTED for the house and senate to be controlled by a slight republican majority, which really doesn't mean all that much. It's not like he fired every single democrat in our government! He replaced some with people of his own, but guess what? That's what happens when you become president! You appoint people to your cabinet! A dictator is ONE who rules absolutely. This can't possibly happen when nearly half of the senate and house is still controlled by democrats! It's almost impossible for America to resort to a dictator ship because of the way our government is set up. Anyone who says Bush is a dictator loses much respect in my view.

This is so true, and scary. It's amazing to me how ignorant people in this country have become on all issues. Bush is corrupt to the bone, ample proof of that even on ATS. But no so many choose to not believe it. Well believe it cause most of it is true.

Liberals are the ones with open eyes. we're the ones educated as to what is really going on. Did I say liberals? sorry..I meant anyone who isnt backing Bush in his endeavors.
.................
I am for socialism, disarmament, and, ultimately, for abolishing the state itself... I seek the social ownership of property, the abolition of the propertied class, and the sole control of those who produce wealth. Communism is the goal."
Roger Baldwin
"The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of 'liberalism' they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened." - Norman Thomas, Socialist Party Presidential Candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948 and co-founder of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU).
Consequently, the Communist Party was forced underground and went through name changes to evade the authorities. Following the recruitment of, the Workers Council another factional grouping coming out of the Socialist Party the aboveground front for the illegal Communist Party gradually replaced the underground party. Despite a struggle by some party members to retain an illegal appartus on principle, the aboveground and underground parties were fully merged, the new party being officially named the Worker (Communist) Party. Significantly, the party also recruited an organisation of African-American socialists called the African Blood Brotherhood, some of the members of which would later be important to communist work among Black people.

Let's just have a dictator in the White House anyway. At least that way we would be sure we were not being lied to and fooled into submission.

They can't do that, then the underground would stop fighting each other and the corporate man, and start teaming up against the government.

Go cry in Canada with all the other deserters who want to flee this beautiful nation. Im so sick and tired of hearing all this nonsense. This is America, the home of the free, the strong and the brave, yes thats right I said it, the home of the free. If it werent for Terrorists none of this crap would even be taken place but since our goverment was made to feel that they did such a crappy job protecting us on 9/11, what do you expect them to do to increase security to make people feel safer. They are damed if they do and damned if they dont..
Try being an American, not a dem or a reb or a liberal just a "F'n" American, look at your neighbor, take a breath of air, enjoy your family and realise, we still are free and always will be as long as you belive in being an American.
