When the religious bring up this argument, it would appear that they have proven God, but they haven't.

You don't see air because most of the elements that make up air don't absorb light in wavelengths that we can see. That's called understanding science, and there is nothing magical about it.

God, on the other hand, is not one of these invisible beings that you can compare to air. Why?

Because in the bible, he was described several times with a physical appearance. He is seen and even heard in the Garden of Eden, for example. So God is not an invisible, non-physicl ghost.

What is he?

A flesh and blood extraterrestrial being. The same as our scientists would be if they colonzed another planet. When god 'disappears' into the sky, they are not describing an evaporation. These are ancient people describing-in their vocabulary of the day- the descent of spacecraft.
