Linkedin full of codewords

Want to know all the code names for America's massive intelligence gathering programs? Just browse through the "intelligence analysts" who post their resumes on the public career networking site LinkedIn. ANCHORY, NUCLEON, TRAFFICTHIEF, ARCMAP, SIGNAV, COASTLINE, DISHFIRE, FASTSCOPE, OCTAVE/CONTRAOCTAVE, PINWALE, UTT, WEBCANDID, FASCIA, OCTSKYWARD, INTELINK, METRICS, BANYAN, MARINA ... these all sound absolutely terrifying.

Nothing really new here other than the press has discovered this. It never ceased to amaze me the stuff that is put on LinkedIn.

Whilst a little surprising, it's done for a reason. I know many people who work in many different sectors to do with space, defence and aviation - myself included, that are often obligated by their employer to post their works on LinkedIn. Since many of these sectors often "borrow" employees from other alike departments, posting a vague area of work can be a little more helpful in getting the right people for the job.

Type in anything remotely relevant to defence, military, space, intelligence and engineering, you'll likely pull up a lot of interestingly vague stuff.

Uhm, questo è il genere di cosa uno segnala alle autorità competenti, no? Piuttosto che parlare online? Dio benedica la tecnologia.

So... a lot of people have been examining that, it is public information about a current event. This is a psychometric test against people who don't know what is going on. Seriously guys, don't be mean to the schitzo people.

And how about Twitter? Do these government guys really post on Twitter? YES if you look under the certifications they have.

CEH Certified Ethical Hacker.
twitter.com...

CISSP Certified Information Systems Security Professional
twitter.com...

ISC2 International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium
twitter.com...

CCFP Certified Cyber Forensics Professional
twitter.com...

Following some of the tags they use for the field they work in you kind of get a picture of who and what they do. Every once in a while you get a drunk guy posting something he is not supposed to like Boris from Jaded Security saying he hacked the Florida Voter Database. He was working for Jaded Security who was working for DHS as a contractor. But some things are even too secret for ATS. As you can see from the thread with just about everything erased by mods.
