A wonderful thread, and promoted every way possible.
I'm sure the tipping point for the Fourth Estate (or the shreds left of
it after Morgan bought all the media for the R. family) was the
IRS and other superheros being used as a power tool to supress it.

I can also not so quietly wonder whether or not the Gotham Gab is
attempting to distance itself from the collective town idiot visibly blowing
its own toes off on-camera... in order to save some of its own credibility.

I personally believe the AP getting the schoolyard fat lip got it going.
Very soon we will see the change promised, possibly an unintended
one for the steer-oids of this spawn o' iniquity.DAMN I'm good

ps really makes you postulate: is the internal power struggle between assumed
omnipotent globalist factions starting to spill outside like a good barroom dragout?
Get the propcorn and some LEAD foil hats folks.. there's sweat on the red button.

The New York Times? Then it is over. If this isn't too far off topic, what does this do to the 2014 elections? Does Obama lose the Senate?

And, does Obama have the power to get anything significant through Congress anymore, or is he functionally, retired?

blame the house of reps
and the private industry

both just happen to be mostly republican

democrats seem to think empowering the people is the way forward
republican industry seems to not

First off, I have to say, "If it was only the Republicans whom benefit from Corporatism, then how do we explain Democrats benefitting from the same corrupt money? Also, why don't we hear the Democrats bringing it up that the Republicans our bought and paid for?"?????????

As far as the Democrats "empowering" people????????????????? Please explain to me how creating "VICTIMS" is empowering anyone!!!!

I think they never had any credibility to begin with...

Most of the time with a new president I try to keep a "open mind", but I had a bad feeling about Obama and Holder from day one.

-SAP-

Too right his campaign was based on lies, his administration is based on lies so he didn't have any credibility to begin with.

I guess this destroys the myth that the NYT is just a shill for the Obama administration.

Great to see POTUS being held to account. Obama is the most scrutinised, over-analysed president in living memory, and the media has been all over him since day one. He hasn't had a single free pass on any issue, and he can't make a single move without being called out on it.

I'm delighted to see that America's free press is still doing its job. Way to go, NYT!

the difference between obama and bush

its the media that tell us obamas a failure

for bush...people had to argue the case

would be nice if NYtimes alllowed people to make the choice, instead of them harping on like the right wing.

shame on them for calling the whole administration a failure... overnight.. over one sensitive issue

Question................How is it that you defend Obama, (just guessing here, but most likely you hated Bush) when Obama has done nothing more than "Progress" the United States towards the same NWO that Bush talked about? What I am trying to say and portray, is the FACT that the same people whom hated Bush, are now the SAME people whom support a President whom has done nothing more than move "forward" the framework of globalism that Bush and Clinton set up???????

Please explain! BTW! Is Lindsey Graham a progressive? Because he and John McCain are the best examples I can give anyone whom believes that there is one bit of difference (other than dividing the American sheep) between the two parties..........

That's not true of everyone, I hated Bush and I haven't been very thrilled with Obama either. Once you get past the partisan bickering Bush and Obama are extremely similar when it comes to policy. I would say they're 80%-90% the same. The real issue isn't that Obama and Bush are bad, it's that we haven't had a good alternative that's been taken seriously. John Kerry, Mitt Romney, Sarah Palin (McCain would have been acceptable without her I think, and even with her I had hoped since the VP is traditionally quite weak). These aren't good candidates. Ron Paul is the only good one we've had in the past 3 elections and the media simply didn't take him seriously.

Wait...you kidding? None of these Obama scandals were broken by US mainstream media, they were all foreign or alternative media.

What the....f.....what are you talking about?

Maybe beacause Bush jr is most awful president in US history. His damage on US and the World is beyond imaginable. Every president before and after Bush will be GOOD .

That's an excellent point, ElPresidente...I think it was the Guardian that broke the Verizon story. The American media has had its head in the sand.

Also, the notion that Obama hasn't had any breaks or free passes from the media...laughable.

Yeah this story is kind of drowning out this one.
Saudi Royal Ties To 9/11 Hijackers Via Florida Saudi Family?
whowhatwhy.com...

FBI found direct ties between 9/11 hijackers and Saudis living in Florida; Congress kept in dark
www.browardbulldog.org...

FBI leaked there own secret files on Saudi Family being directly tied to 9/11 hijackers as evidence why they should be able to hide the rest of the files.

If you check the article, the New York Times has backed off those comments. They added "on this issue".

So yeah, they're still in the bag. Either that or they're afraid Obummer is gonna collect all their phone records and harrass their family members.

But I thought the New York Times was a liberal propaganda machine that cannot be trusted?

Anyways this is an opinion piece. Wouldn't put much stock in it.

To the people that researched and got to know Obama, his wife and his lackeys, none of these people had any credibility to start with.

I see a lot of what is going on as "misdirection" from the larger picture, the total demise of this country............I'm not really sure what more "in your face" events have to manifest for people to see this.

What to do?? ................. there is no one left to fix it, it is purity much up to "we the people" to figure it out on our own. The only problem is I fear "we the people " will wait to long and it will be to little to late.

Just my opinion.

Has anybody also noticed this gem.

Brian Glyn Williams CIA agent and Professor at Dartmouth. Did studies on suicide bombers in other countries and is a specialist on Chechen Rebels. He had contact with the Boston Bombers.

www.opednews.com...

It is one hell of a news day today. I think our corrupt government and its fake war on terror might have been thrown under the bus. All was fine and dandy until they spied on Congress and the news media. I guess it was ok as long as they only did it to every one else.

Tell you what IMO is amazing is the last couple of paragraphs from the NYT article:

On Thursday, Representative Jim Sensenbrenner, Republican of Wisconsin, who introduced the Patriot Act in 2001, said that the National Security Agency overstepped its bounds by obtaining a secret order to collect phone log records from millions of Americans.

“As the author of the Patriot Act, I am extremely troubled by the F.B.I.’s interpretation of this legislation,” he said in a statement. “While I believe the Patriot Act appropriately balanced national security concerns and civil rights, I have always worried about potential abuses.” He added: “Seizing phone records of millions of innocent people is excessive and un-American.”

Yep - Sensenbrenner says no-one should actually be allowed to use all the provisions he put in his most famous piece of legislation!!
