I want to join in. Biggest lie ever told to humanity in my opinion is; (and i actually think im on to something), that we are all individuals. Lets assume for a moment that there is a man with a white beard up in the clouds, well, all of us must have come from him, we had to because there is nothing else besides the creator, So that would suggest that we are all the same being. Now, if we knew this, then the world would be a very different place. Why would we hurt and lie and cheat another person , if we knew that they were we, and we them. (too many we's sorry)

HoneyBooBoo isn't a demon, just an inbred pile of white trash. I still want to know what genius thought that group of trailer park royalty was "entertaining". The only thing entertaining about them is the fact uneducated crap like that can make millions off of their grotesque family.

We are all God individualized, and this truth is the major MISNOMER ever. Its like a gigantic trick is played by ITSELF upon ITSELF. If we recognised the concept of GOD as human, there would be no wars but maybe no cartoons either.

It makes money, its entertainment of the lowest form of humor describing the basest of human stupidity. I am at a loss as to why engendering the worst of human proclivity (bad manners doesnt come close), ignorance; the worst of human behavior becomes "FreakShow" reality television. Like consistency, it is a virtue of the dead. Among the living patience has next to no value. It is people being patient, which means that despite various changes of government in various nations, the rich powerful few, are always able to exert thier power over the poor, powerless many. It is the patience of the many, which means that these idiots and thier cheque books still rule the roost. If patience was abandoned in favour of immediate and unstoppable rage, they would not dare to do what they do, the way they do it.

It is patience with murderers, child molestors, and serial rapists, which see prison populations grow, and prisons overcrowd. If there were less patience in the system, then these wastes of flesh would be summarily removed from the gene pool, and thier upkeep would not drain our resources like a cancer on an organ.

Patience means emotions which should be freely expressed, and worn on the sleeve, have to be swallowed , and opinions which ought to be acted upon, ignored or repressed, all for the sake of virtue. Its utter rot. Be impatient. Impatience will stop people mugging old ladies, and shooting up drugs, and murdering people for kicks. It will be better for the world than an over abundance of patience.

Obviously, I am not suggesting that one should smack a kid upside the head for being a slow learner, or that one ought to resort to violence without just provocation. But remaining patient in the face of stimulus which ought to result in carnage, is not a virtue. It is as much of a sin as constant rage, total anger, and unreasonable violence in the face of fair treatment.

Seriously, though - I'd have to say the idea that there can be infinite growth in a finite system is a whopper.

1. Religion
2. The God Story
3. The earth is ours and can be divided into sections that we can own
4. That man is somehow superior over other animals
5. That there is one right way to live

That we are descended from apes is only one of the many lies we are told, though it seems to be the one which most people believe. Perhaps I'm wrong but it seems to me that there are too many differences between the human races for me to see how we can all be decended from the same source, unless we are the result of genetic interference from an outside source(s).
I don't think we'll know the truth concerning our origin until NASA and the controlled government decide to come clean with what they know about Mars, and our moon.

Very good post, although it doesn't, strictly speaking, answer the question. The single biggest and blackest lie is that there is no purpose (beyond survival) in our universe, closely followed by the lie that we have no free will.
