The only reason you were banned was because you were political trolling, and outright attacking members and calling them names........

Not only that you NOW have two open accounts youve made today that are active, and you are posting on both of them......

THAT kind of behavior is why you have gotten and will probably get banned again...........NOT because of your political viewpoints

same person as Distancerunner and TheAmerican..........people have been watching you do this all day...

You are so wrong!!

Didn't you read his posts? He was banned again because he's liberal.

It's funny how some people can never find fault in their own actions. The way he acted was like someone using the race card. It couldn't possibly be all of the violations and crude behavior! No way! It had to be because he's a liberal and we all know liberals are treated so unfairly.

Can you please explain the 'political discrimination'?

He means other posters constantly making obnoxious comments about anyone who supports Obama, doesn't like gun violence, votes democrat, believes humans shouldn't be forced to bear children against their will, etc.

Or are called "hicks", "knuckle draggers", "bible thumpers", "tea baggers (my favorite; highlights the maturity level), who believe in personal freedom, votes with their conscience, believes in the sanctity of life and personal responsibility, also doesn't like violence but understands the nature of humans and how evil they can be, and supports anyone but Obama.......

We can put each other in boxes all day long CB...

I think alot of this recent bias issue stems from the FACT, that the USA is full of people who do not actually know the difference between left and right. They think that the Nazi party were a left wing organisation, when clearly, they were a right wing party. The "National Socialism" brand was developed purely to confuse the issue, and the party had nothing to do with socialism, or left wing ideals what so ever.

Furthermore, the current political climate in the USA (which is home to a significant number of our members) is having its effect as well, with people from both "sides" lambasting one another for the percieved ills of eachothers position.

However, what you say is true. The left right paradigm, apart from only being correctly understood where it was born, that is in Europe and Britain, is little more these days than a tool which is used to lever the people apart, and force them into confrontation with one another, to distract the whole of the people from the real issues of the day, and prevent them forming well rounded opinions on, and solutions to ,the issues at hand.

Another thing to realise is that there is a difference between the right to free speech, and the responsibility one takes upon ones self when actually partaking of that freedom. Few people actually engage with both these things, and until people learn to do so, there will always be fractious elements, driving home the wedges that keep the whole of the people seperate and removed from one another along political divides.

Sophistry was once described to me as style masquerading as fact. Don't think so.

I can't think of anything more sophist than incorrectly slapping the word "sophistry" on something you disagree with.

eta: I did look up the state office religious tests. What I found was that there are a few that still have the law on the books, but the law is nullified by supreme court rulings and could never be enforced. So in a certain hypothetical sense you are correct, and in practical application you are wrong. Sophistry!

I don't feel I was just 'slapping it on' something I disagree with but accept your point. Plus a lol for the comeback.

If you go further back in the discussion I was attempting to show the creeping nature of the attempt to nullify the constitution, in the particular case of the Dominionists but there are others. It's a discussion I've had before but not for a while so as soon as I get chance there's a few things about this I'll post links to.

I would claim that the Nazis were a left wing party because many of their early policies were indeed Socialist but would just contend that point as it's a whole new discussion.

Those that say this site is 90% republican/Right are wrong .. biggest lie ever.

This site ..including the admins are all left wing crazies. I know people who have been banned for being right leaning .. and even making examples of site admins. Fact is if your not liberal ..your time here will be rough. There are evil forces working to destroy this country and it starts here.

Ignorance in Denial.

Watch what happens to this post.. because I know some blow hard isnt going to like using my 1st amendment rights

I would like to add I am no longer part of the paradigm.. I just like pointing out Bias/discrimination/Ignorance

The only part of thier process which was remotely left leaning, were things they did to make themselves look reasonable.

The vast majority of the rest of it was about control, and that is NOT what effective and even handed left wing politics is about.

ETA: If you attack a belief as a realm of idiocy you are in effect attacking the intelligence of anyone who identifies with that that belief. There is a big difference between saying "Pat Robertson sucks" and "Pat Robertson sucks and you would have to be a moron to believe otherwise".

Yeah?
Here is a link to a site I visit to see the latest outrageous claims from the Extreme Right (not a term I made up, btw) deconstructed, debunked, and explained:
Right Wing Watch

People For the American Way's Right Wing Watch is dedicated to monitoring and reporting on the activities of right-wing political organizations, in order to expose the agenda of the extreme Right. Our researchers monitor dozens of broadcasts, emails and websites, and use their expertise on right-wing movements to analyze and distill that information for the general public.

We hope that by shedding light on the activities of right-wing organizations, we can expose the risks that their extreme and intolerant agendas present to our country. We do not endorse the views of groups that we report on.

This site may also include postings by our affiliate People For the American Way Foundation and will be so designated.

I'm not saying anything that others aren't also saying, and my aim is to bring the real agenda of that movement to ATS for the benefit of people who have unknowingly succumbed to the unbalanced thinking of the public figures they follow.
Check it out for a huge list of the people, organizations, and topics that this subterfuge infects.
Otherwise perfectly intelligent people have been misled and tricked into believing these people are sincerely moral and good. It's frightening, and someone needs to point out to people that they are being duped.

Or not. Just let them go with the flow and watch the ensuing chaos and unrest?

As for people claiming that "liberals" are being scrubbed and banned, I haven't seen that happening at all. I think there's a pretty healthy balance on here.

ETA: I don't actually fear an extreme left threat, and I'm wouldn't be surprised if the MRC website is filled with shoddy pseudo-journalism. I've never even heard of it before, I just found it by typing "left wing watch" into google. I also do not feel a need to educate anyone here other than myself. I'm just making a point about the prior post.

What does this have to do with Obama supporters??

I agree. People who get banned are banned for their attitude towards other members and their actions on this site rather than their political persuasion. There is a pretty even balance, although it doesn’t seem that way when a pack of them (the other side…whichever that may be) jumps all over you in one of your threads.

See, your post is fine.

I do need to point out that private discussion forums don't have to comply with the first amendment.

And....calling people "blowhards" - well thats not likely to win you many friends and could be construed as attacking people.

Interesting facts....

Some of the staff on the board are American
Some of the staff on the board are Canadian
Some of the staff on the board are British
Some of the staff on the board are Australian
Some of the staff on the board are South African
Some of the staff on the board are Norweigan
Some of the staff on the board are Portugese

So quite how anyone can cry Political bias - particularly when it pertains to the USA is, frankly, beyond me.

FTR, I'm British. Your liberal/rightwing partisanship in the states means absolutely nothing to me as I sit outside your system.

As I stated earlier, people just post with their own political blinkers on and their "bias" is subjective to their own viewpoint - usually because they don't like what other people have to say.

And that is all you needed to say, along with posting your newly discovered 'link'. If you're here only to educate yourself, why are you focusing on critical analysis of me and other members and refuting what I and they have to say?

I am a moderate, not affiliated with either side. Lame post and, for a new member, really audacious.

You just plagiarized my post in a mocking and troll fashion, and that is against the rules, as far as I know. Kindly stop with your assault on me. I acknowledged your earlier posts and thanked you for the feedback. Find someone else to attack.

Actually, you plagiarized my post, mockingly

I would say I echoed your post satirically.

for a brand new member I don't think much of your approach so far.

I didn't sign up to win a popularity contest. I signed up because I was bored with lurking and wanted to throw my two pennies in. You are entitled to your opinion of my contribution thus far, but I am free to ignore it.

You don't know one thing about my background, education, career, personality, or ideas.

This is correct, but seems irrelevant because I have made no claims to the contrary.

Now you are getting ugly and belligerent

I do not think I have been ugly or belligerent. I am, in fact, quite beautiful and usually maintain a calm demeanor.

-- and guess what? THAT's the behavior that gets people banned!

If I broke a rule there is a procedure in place to deal with that via moderation. Feel free to follow it if you truly think that I was out of line.
