It's for the greater good of all.

The one thing I would really like to know about this incident is how this 19-year old kid got away after the supposed shootout. That would be interesting to know.

Two suspects don't fire upon 9,000 cops every day and throw grenades and dynamite at them. Boston is an active war zone right now. Or wherever they are now. This is not normal. And it makes sense to lock down things.

They have something called SWAT that takes care of the risky operations. They are specialised police forces that know how to deal with terror suspects and hostage situations. I simply can't believe you need to lockdown a city for 2 or 3 suspects, short of them having a dirty bomb(meaning a suitcased nuclear device).

Just does not make sense!

Well if they're suicidal then they'd have set off a Nuke already wouldn't they, what would they be waiting for?

What you're saying makes less sense.

There was just a 20-25 second gun fight...it is pretty dark now on the scanner. Rifles and handguns...

This lock-down situation is ineffective against one person. They should be employing counter-insurgency tactics. Small groups of officers swarming and gathering intelligence, moving quickly.

My impression is that that is exactly what they are doing.

I feel you. There are supposedly 9000 police/service people and no one can find him. It's really odd.

They can't find him because his body is probably rotting in a river somewhere by now. The dude's a 19 year old kid, not James Bond - he probably killed himself hours ago.

The aunt actually sounds intelligent to me.

And why has NO ONE- family, friends, former classmates, former coaches- said that either of them had suspicious behavior??

Exactly. The only one the Uncle has said something somewhat negative and again media is now taking it (yet again out of context "they are losers") - when he stated that if they did this then they are losers.

Interesting, they are not saying much about the older brother or interviewing those who knew him. Seems like a set up for a good story. Younger brother influenced by older "rouge" brother to go along with this terrible act.

I don't know the aunt claimed to be a lawyer. Yet she was all over with her answers. She seemed more interested in the spotlight than anything else. She went on to say that the kids were being used and framed.

I think the real sane one of the family is the uncle who was saying the kid should give up and ask for forgiveness.

Must be a different scanner? I didn't hear anything like that on the one I'm using...

These people are obviously highly trained Jihadists. These people can reek utter havoc. I'll say it again, Mumbai went down just like this. Except these guys are better.

How can a 19 year old be a highly trained Jihadist ?

I agree, have people return to their normal lives. Prob at more risk of death/injury from automobiles.

They were not warning shots either but could not tell if there was return fire but multiple weapons were dischsrged.. It was enough that I called my son in and said this has to be it.

CNN reports 15 officers inured last night.

There MUST BE more than two gun men. Military skirmishes just DO NOT WORK with those numbers.

when they are searching every house, I would be afraid as a citizen. One wrong move and you could be shot.

I am thinking he, or they, are trying to arrange the perfect set-up, like gathering the right persons and the right number of them together for some major grand finale. Like some sort of sheperd dog, rounding up the herd...
Otherwise he/they would just have discharged their vests or whatever.

This is one strange way to behave, even if they are just plain crazy....

OK, cool, yay! Order a kebab in, crack a can and get settled in . It's not like you have to work tomorrow.

Well, unless you have to work tomorrow. Which sucks.

Been following for a long time now. Adrenaline is high. Got CNN on t.v. in the background, ATS open, and different links open across the board. I have a feeling the end of this is going to be very anti-climatic.
