Why do some of the officers in those photos need suppressors on their guns?

The one thing I would really like to know about this incident is how this 19-year old kid got away after the supposed shootout. That would be interesting to know.

So true and from the video it looks like they had them surrounded.. he must be an absolute genius.

Brother created a diversion by running at the police. Brother runs him over and escapes. Way it was told.

Hmm Mass Governor and a mayor are coming in for a press briefing.

More comments on things we already know?

Or Declaration of Martial Law due to the time slipping away?

Should be happening shortly..

Another risk the cops could face here is taking fire from people that REFUSE to have their houses searched for whatever reason.

This could get messy.

Been following for a long time now. Adrenaline is high. Got CNN on t.v. in the background, ATS open, and different links open across the board. I have a feeling the end of this is going to be very anti-climatic.

I feel anti-climactic would be a good thing.

I have been following this all day from UK, I believe that the guy is dead. 2 people responsible overall.

CNN reports 15 officers inured last night.

There MUST BE more than two gun men. Military skirmishes just DO NOT WORK with those numbers.

Yes, but what CNN is also not reporting is how many of them were injured by fellow officers in the confusion. I am sure that information will not come out until much later on after an investigation is done.

Two suspects don't fire upon 9,000 cops every day and throw grenades and dynamite at them. Boston is an active war zone right now. Or wherever they are now. This is not normal. And it makes sense to lock down things.

They have something called SWAT that takes care of the risky operations. They are specialised police forces that know how to deal with terror suspects and hostage situations. I simply can't believe you need to lockdown a city for 2 or 3 suspects, short of them having a dirty bomb(meaning a suitcased nuclear device).

Just does not make sense!

Well if they're suicidal then they'd have set off a Nuke already wouldn't they, what would they be waiting for?

What you're saying makes less sense.

Suitcase nukes are useless, you'd kill more people with "conventional" bombs.

From what I have read, the police and suspects were around 200 feet apart, the suspects behind a vehicle, and the older guy charged the polices position, and explosives were let off between the two groups - the younger male was able to escape in the confusion.

How can a 19 year old still be on the run and not in custody or dead?

I am not saying he is highly trained, but I do not believe for one second that he is alone right now.

they still had the ability to close him in, hence the zones they are checking...still a good chance he never got out of the net after the shootout.

From what I heard last night, they threw a large explosive at the police and the older brother (black hat guy) charged the police. While he did that, the younger brother (white hat guy) got in the car (or suv) and smashed through the police line (apparently running over his brothers body in the process).

I have no idea why the police didn't chase except that it was reported that the older brother detonated a device he was wearing after he was shot...so it may have been kind of chaotic and he just got away.

About 9 hours ago i commented to somebody that the fact that this kid has escaped (or not) from 9000 LEO's maybe because theres more than one...

When Oswald was on the run, how many was there?? At least two, the real Lee and a fatter guy who shot Tippet.

Now the police are "we got him", "no we dont" over and over again.

I think someones been giving this kid a helping hand.

To evade 9000 men so easily takes a lot of knowledge or a lot of help.

He "ran" at the police..??? With the amount of police/swat etc surrounding them the other brother was able to run off..??? Odd.
