China is probably gearing up to handle any potential refugee problems.

I think this makes the most sense in addition to a slight warning to the US. I really don't think China would back NK against the US. We are far too dependent on each other. We owe China a ton of cash, and we also buy a ton of Chinese products. NK isn't worth it to them imo.

China's merely securing its borders in case something happens and millions of starving and poverty-stricken North Koreans try to flood over their borders.

There's no 'spoiling for a East-West' showdown here, OP. Pull your foil cap down a little tighter next time

The US should overtly DE-escalate the crisis....suspending all publicly announced exercises and positioning of assets that spook the scared North Korean military and its fear-ful leader (while at the same time quietly positioning two nuclear attack subs a tactical distance off the coast to reinforce the nukes already in the south to be used if necessary in the event of an all out assault by the north). Think Teddy Roosevelt here ("speak softly and carry a big stick").

Believe it or not, there is such a thing as looking too weak...

Damnit

God speed friend. God speed.

You may be correct however, let's just say for shizz and giggles that perhaps China wants to call in their debt? NK war by proxy? Pure speculation but not that unbelievable.

China is gearing up for 2 scenarios.....

1: Relieve/support NK in the event of a preemptive attack by the USA, control refugees, open supply lines etc, etc...

10% Chance

2: Sack North Korea in the event it attacks

90% Chance

Treaties... thing about them is they all become null and void the minute the others you signed them with void them through insane behavior.

This isn't the first physical war China would choose to fight.... if China had plans to get it's troops fighting they'd get them combat ready anyway but against Us

Heros... that's how you upstage the USA, save the day...

Your dealing with an OLD culture

China will straddle the Globe.... One day... on it's schedule

It's NK being setup... not the USA, there is time for us... much time... NK is a great first warm up, lands them much of the Koreas... Makes the look good, much benefit....

Russia is buddies with China, right? If China helps North Korea and the U.S.A helps SK, then I bet Canada would help the US help SK...

That means we'd be fodder for Russia? Am I wrong here??

We already busted a Russian Spy O.o

Also herd a rumor that 2 more subs were caught in our water up north, sorry... no article linky, just the local rumor mill.

I'm pretty certain if Nkorea makes the first move and attacks the south,China will abandon it's obligation to NK
or lets face it , our little planet will be in ruins..

Now what if this is actually being instigated by the U.S in an attempt to test one of their nukes on a "worthless" country?? To flex their muscles and show the world how powerful they really are…in the midst of all the issues the U.S has right now and the direction it's heading it wouldn't surprise me really.

If war stimulates economy and we owe China $1.6 Trillion in debt... wouldn't it be in the best interest of them that the US go to war?

I would assume its much better in the interest of china that (for now) they remain friendly to the US and let NK be a pawn to fall orrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

This is much bigger and perhaps the first step to the last days of the United States because Russia, China etc are ready now.

I mean the US is sorta spread out right now all over and exhausted from the middle East.
