But they must be real fun to take for target practice, right?! Great for pictures!!! And mass murders.

Google a little.
The weapons that she proposed to ban are very legal to hunt with in numerous states. AR15's and AK47 variants are the weapon of choice for hunting wild hogs. It is often done at night using night vision sights.

There are plenty of youtube videos of this in action. Here is a link if you don't believe....

That's good news. Cruz made Feinstein look silly by getting her to say 'no' and now the ban fell apart. We should have Cruz grill all the dems anytime they want to pass an objectional bill! He can certainly get them to admit the truth!

I kept saying that this AWB will falter and crash in just a few months, and it finally did. Great news indeed. Even the proposed background check bill has been catching some hang ups and may not pass.

It's pretty much up to the states now. It dosent seem much of anything is going to go through on the federal level.

Now hopefully prices start going back to normal levels. The supply of AR's, AK's, ect... is 99% back where I live, but they're still crazy high priced and people have stopped buying them because of that. Since there's so many out there and nobody is buying them at the prices they are at the moment, it shouldnt be too long until the prices fall to normal. The last gun show here I went to a few weeks ago was basically AR city. Tables filled with them and tons of people bringing them in for private sales. But because of the price, nobody was really able to sell them.

Now it's time for ammo to come back to normal to. It seems to just recently started to slowly come back, but hopefully it picks up faster because of this bill defeat. Hopefully I'll be able to take this badboy back to the range finally. It has been quite awhile since Ive been able to take it out.

I want Senator Ted Cruz to lecture the progressives every week about the U.S. Constitution.

This is GREAT!

Hopefully now that cool heads have prevailed, maybe we can keep the peace or at least a semblance of it.

I hope that other good news comes. We dont just need it anymore. We really wont take anything less. We really do love this country and arent going to stop until it is taken back. Peacefully if possible. DUH. If not what ever. What they have in mind is worse than death.

Agenda 21 you´re next. Carbon racket, you too....and everything else you thought was so clever that the cattle would just take in like the grass of the pasture. Restrictions on the free exchange of information, the taxation of everything under the sun, fractal reserve banking, wage slavery, war for profit, all of it...

There is still hope to prosper in peace....Together. The ball is in their court. If not this chess board will be smashed until there is nothing left but dust. We arent playing anymore.

I also dont feel like turning this country into the old west.

Wonder why some people keep using the "old west" as a talking point ?

1 thing both the old west and the current gun debate(that is over 80 years old btw) are both fictionalized.

The trend is our friend. Thanks to Senator Ted Cruz, the progressives have been pushed

out into the very bright light with a simple question.

Yes, we are currently basking in our victory but you are right. Do not become complacent.

What? Back when people actually accepted their responsibilities and protected themselves? You're right, we do it so much better today.

This is is supposed to be the old west. That was the intention.

Although, all those shoot outs on television were somewhat dramatized.

You cant honestly be serious.... Do we need to go into comparisons of old west life vs life today?

Yes . . . back up your claim. Show us all how dangerous the "old west" was. As someone who grew up in the Southwest, I know for fact the "lawlessness" aspect was invented to sell penny novella's of the time. The "murder count" of these "outlaws" was based on hearsay or invented to sell media or invent a reputation . . . just like today.

Do you know why the "Gunfight at the OK Corral" was so notorious? Three people died! 3. Which more than doubled their "murder" total from the previous two years combined. And, more people were stabbed than shot in the "old west".

But you keep believing those cowboy movies . . . the anti-gun crowd wouldn't have a talking point, if not.

Once again we should as Americans, thank the men who gave us the constitution and the bill of rights. Their for sight and intelligence has prevailed by the use of specific language and concise wording. In which Mr. Cruz brought to bare in perfect fashion.

Any weapon ( firearm ) I can be issued and made to carry in to battle to defend my country. I have a right to own in my home.

And nothing short of that will suffice.

Good point. I wont be carrying a gun to any school thats for sure.

Why not? Afraid of what you might do?
Don't trust yourself?

I have zero issue with legal gun owners carrying a firearm around the most prescious in our society.

Not at all. Afraid of scaring the kids to death. The kids who see nothing but death on tv, see 6 year olds shot to death and probably go to school a tiny bit more fearful than when you and I did. I dont feel like having one child see a gun in their school without knowing if its for protection or murder. Maybe that's why?
edit on 19-3-2013 by bknapple32 because: (no reason given)

Those kids have also been desensitized to violence by the TV shows they watch and the video games they play. They are taught that getting a head shot equals more points. Get real bud. Most kids get excited about a gun but they are being taught to fear guns.

Well we could debate waning support all day. Was it because those senators didnt want that in the bill? Or could it be from outside pressures and fights they just didnt want to deal with?

Waning support means they didn't have it to begin with.

Read between the lines.

I don't expect them to give up yet though.

The trend is our friend

The trend is the NFA of 1934, the gun control act of 1968. the AWB of 1994 and 2013 while I would absolutely love to share the optimism I don't.

They will never give up, and they will use any "reason" any means to have their way.

Feinstein's bill was dropped in favor to pass other gun legislation in its place

Amen to that!

We don't need Senator Feinstein telling us "You may have this rifle over here but

not that one over there."

Also . . . hunting with an AR would be the same as hunting with a Ruger Mini-14 ranch gun or any other rifle chambered in .223 (which is small bore). In fact, it would actually behove you not to hunt with the AR, due to their shorter barrel, which means less accurate, and hi-cap mags being less reliable. But, it wouldn't be "extravagant" . . . all guns are killing machines. That is why they were designed, be it human, animal, or inanimate target.

Love the photo of Feinstein trying to pull her face off her skull.

And it's not all bad news for socialists. Tiger Woods and Lindsey Vonn are serious about each other. They are considering competing on Dancing With the Stars.

In the meantime, the socialists and the American Communist Party will continue to seek ways to dismantle the Constitution. Where would we be without our enemies? For a while Josef Stalin called himself an ally of Harry Truman's.....until the Soviet Union could rebuild itself from World War Two to be strong enough to be an enemy, again.

Will Obama receive a wedding invitation from Tiger and Lindsey? I'm sure Obama will. Obama is doing his best to get more golf course built in America, more guns sold in America, more oil and gas domestically pumped up in America.....and Obama has done a wonderful job of giving the Pentagon all the wars they need.

Will Obama tire of listening to socialists whine? He's not going for any re-election. He has a 45 million dollar mansion waiting for him in Hawaii. With a typewriter to jot out his best selling memoir.

We Americans become invigorated every time someone tries to stamp the Constitution with a Hammer and Cycle rubber stamp. Let's NOT get complacent again. The socialists and the American Communist Party won't quit trying.

IMO It looks like the bipartisan strategic planning on this issue worked perfectly for the weapons manufacturers.

Result: more weapons and ammo sold while no drastic change to the Assault Weapons Ban . It appears that the gun manufacturing lobbying industry appear to have gotten a double win.

LOL. That's a tad bit silly. Those manufacturers exist because of the fact that many, many people demand their products. It was not a victory for lobbyists, it was a victory for millions of Americans who want to be free to choose what they own for themselves.

Why is that silly? Do you think that Republicans and Democrats don't work together behind doors on behalf of the lobbying industry? Did the law pass? was it ever really going to pass? Is this the first time that fear mongering been used with threatening to weapons?

Its just another coincidence where the lobbying industry benefited twice: increase of sales (thanks to the help of tax payers money as well) and no ban.

Who was going to lose if the ban passed besides the people? A large lobbying industry would have lost which is not likely to happen, hence I never thought this bill was ever going to pass.

I'm not saying that their isn't a demand for their product and I'm for gun ownership. However, following the money trail it never made any sense to me that this would pass.

You do know that the AR manufacturers owe Feinstein a HUGE debt of gratitude. She has single handedly boosted the sale of ARs in America ten or twenty or thirtyfold.

Gun shops are announcing that more ARs are coming. They're working around the clock to catch up on back orders.

The Armalite Rifle has become a serious competitor to the Kalashnikov.
