You all must be so happy! Now you can use those assault weapons to hunt.. err I mean, defend yourself against intruders. er I mean, defend yourself against the us government, oops no, that wont work either.
But they must be real fun to take for target practice, right?! Great for pictures!!! And mass murders.
Google a little.
The weapons that she proposed to ban are very legal to hunt with in numerous states. AR15's and AK47 variants are the weapon of choice for hunting wild hogs. It is often done at night using night vision sights.
There are plenty of youtube videos of this in action. Here is a link if you don't believe....

That's good news. Cruz made Feinstein look silly by getting her to say 'no' and now the ban fell apart. We should have Cruz grill all the dems anytime they want to pass an objectional bill! He can certainly get them to admit the truth!
I also dont feel like turning this country into the old west.

What? Back when people actually accepted their responsibilities and protected themselves? You're right, we do it so much better today.
This is is supposed to be the old west. That was the intention.
Although, all those shoot outs on television were somewhat dramatized.
You cant honestly be serious.... Do we need to go into comparisons of old west life vs life today?

Good point. I wont be carrying a gun to any school thats for sure.
Why not? Afraid of what you might do?
Don't trust yourself?
I have zero issue with legal gun owners carrying a firearm around the most prescious in our society.
Not at all. Afraid of scaring the kids to death. The kids who see nothing but death on tv, see 6 year olds shot to death and probably go to school a tiny bit more fearful than when you and I did. I dont feel like having one child see a gun in their school without knowing if its for protection or murder. Maybe that's why?edit on 19-3-2013 by bknapple32 because: (no reason given)

Well we could debate waning support all day. Was it because those senators didnt want that in the bill? Or could it be from outside pressures and fights they just didnt want to deal with?

Once again we should as Americans, thank the men who gave us the constitution and the bill of rights. Their for sight and intelligence has prevailed by the use of specific language and concise wording. In which Mr. Cruz brought to bare in perfect fashion.
Any weapon ( firearm ) I can be issued and made to carry in to battle to defend my country. I have a right to own in my home.
And nothing short of that will suffice.

IMO It looks like the bipartisan strategic planning on this issue worked perfectly for the weapons manufacturers.
Result: more weapons and ammo sold while no drastic change to the Assault Weapons Ban . It appears that the gun manufacturing lobbying industry appear to have gotten a double win.
LOL. That's a tad bit silly. Those manufacturers exist because of the fact that many, many people demand their products. It was not a victory for lobbyists, it was a victory for millions of Americans who want to be free to choose what they own for themselves.

Also . . . hunting with an AR would be the same as hunting with a Ruger Mini-14 ranch gun or any other rifle chambered in .223 (which is small bore). In fact, it would actually behove you not to hunt with the AR, due to their shorter barrel, which means less accurate, and hi-cap mags being less reliable. But, it wouldn't be "extravagant" . . . all guns are killing machines. That is why they were designed, be it human, animal, or inanimate target.

The trend is the NFA of 1934, the gun control act of 1968. the AWB of 1994 and 2013 while I would absolutely love to share the optimism I don't.
They will never give up, and they will use any "reason" any means to have their way.
Feinstein's bill was dropped in favor to pass other gun legislation in its place
