What, as opposed to building an Empire and averaging a war every 20 years?
Did Venezuela go to Vietnam and kill millions of people? No they did not. Iraq? Afghanistan? Korea? The list goes on and on.
'm guessing you hold the same judgement for all world leaders?
Or just the ones that you "think" are bad?
If you honestly think Chavez was a worse leader than any of the recent US presidents or say, Prime Ministers of Israel, you are sadly mistaken.
For Christakes think for yourself! .

Show us what he or his family have bought with this incredible wealth, both in and out of the country, then we might have something to talk about.
Other corrobborating non-numeral evidence that Chavez's family accumulated vast wealth during his reign which also pre-date Chavez's death include a November 2007 item at NPR ("Venezuelan President's Power Extends to His Family") and a July 2009 report at the News York Times ("State Ruled by Crime and Chávez Family") which contains the following paragraph:
Politicians once loyal to the president who have broken with him and his family here contend that Mr. Chávez’s family has amassed wealth and landholdings through a series of deals carried out by front men.
According to press reports in late 2010, Chavez "and other members of the presidential family hold five bank accounts in the United States amounting to USD 137 million."
Howie Carr reminded us this morning in his Boston Herald column that Kennedy doesn't need to worry about having funds for his next meal, thanks to his "not-for-profit" work:
Poor Joe Kennedy, mourning the loss of his grand amigo, “El Comandante,” the tinpot Latin American thug who put the “profit” back in “non-profit” for the Kennedy kleptocracy.
... For the record, according to 2011 tax filings, Comrade Joe made $901,236 from Citizens Energy and related corporations. His lovely bride, Beth, grabbed another $346,764. Total: $1,248,000.
Personally, without any evidence being presented, this one currently ranks up there with "6 Million Jews died in the holocaust" and "Saddam's WMD's".

So no evidence then, just a bunch more speculation, innuendo and maybe's.... hardly anything that would stand up in a court of law, and from MSM and corporatist sources who bear a brudge!
Now, though, backing for the US version of events has come from an unlikely, if arguably well-informed source - an alleged Venezuelan drug lord who claims that dozens of "top level" figures in the Chavez government, including ministers, generals and judges, were on his payroll.

When you single handedly control all the levers of power in a nation, its not too difficult to siphon off a bit here and bit there to leave yourself a golden parachute when the day comes you are run out of office. It happened with Pinochet and the Castro brothers and Chavez certainly seemed like he was cut from the same cloth.

Even if Chavez was just a sock puppet he probably shared profits from an estimated $14.195 billion black market, the United Nations claims that Venezuela is now the source of more than half the coc aine seized at sea en route to Europe. .
One of the top Venezuelan coc aine traffickers testified that government officials were on his payroll.

All this hypocracy makes me want to spew . . .
Chavez takes a few billion from the people and stashes it and he's villified in every 'free world' media outlet.
Meanwhile, our political leaders siphon trillions from the people, send it to the rich folk under the guise of 'bailouts' and they're saviors of the friggin' universe.

Meanwhile, a Spanish judge has found that Chavez’s regime is linked to two terrorist groups, ETA in Spain and the FARC in Colombia. When Walid Makled, a drug lord with family roots in the Palestinian territories, was arrested in Colombia, he admitted to paying some $40 million to the Chavistas. He is also suspected of financing terror plots.
