Wow...you people really have no idea of what you talk about... It is the same with all the liberals and leftists claiming Che Guevara was a good man who fought for the people...

You are so clueless it is not even funny.

GOOD RIDDANCE, that man was a cancer to not only this world but to Venezuelans...

Didn't any of you understand what he meant when he said fidel castro was not only his ally but his mentor, and that all Venezuelans should follow on the footsteps of Cuba?...

I find it ironic, hilarious and sad at the same time that when people like you see for example the Venezualan students who would form protests, and the millions of Venezuelans who took to the streets to protest AGAINST Chavez, leftists ALWAYS claim that "the CIA is behind those people, they are CIA paid puppeteers"...

Chavez stiffled free speech in Venezuela...any and every tv, and radio station was either nationalized with the pro-Chavez propaganda, or it was shut-down...

He made himself a dictator even by forcing his rule on the people claiming "it is what the people wanted" even though it went against the Constitution of Venezuela...

Heck he even changed the Constitution of Venezuela to become a dictatorship...

Not only that but Venezuela has only become WORSE since the dictatorship of Chavez took power...

Every one of you who saw this man as an idol should be ashamed at not only your ignorance of who and what this man really was, but your ignorance at the real plight of Venezuelans...

oh, and btw, castro used the same tactics of giving some "free oil" and free stuff to some people for example in the U.S. meanwhile fking starving the Cuban people... I was born and raised in Cuba, and in fact one of my uncles was one of the Cuban doctors who was sent to Venezuela, he lost his wife because he couldn't be in Cuba and was sent time and again to Venezuela, and I have had contact with him.

But fools always fall for lies, and decepit, more so when they come with "free gifts" from devils such as Chavez and castro...

Apparently, you abandoned logic and reason thinking people are protesting against a dead guy.

Read it again please, protest--against--a dead person, sounds silly right?

Couldn't have said it better. Sure he nationalized the oil industry. Guess who got the money...Chavez.
People think this clown is good is laughable.

Chavez was worth around 2 billion from nationalizing and keeping most of the money for himself instead of the corporations.

Ironic that these pro-chavez people always try to make up excuses for why there have been so massive protests of Venezuelans against Chavez and his regime...

Either they claim "oh, it is a CIA sting" or "they are rich oil kids and only white"...

Just take a look at these pictures of one of the many antiChavez protests in Venezuela, but of course, all these students and people are "paid disinfo CIA agents..."

More pictures of antichavez protesters here...

I have been accused of the same thing by ignorant people for telling the truth about Cuba, and not the lies liberals and leftists LOVE to believe...

you are sharing some pictures of anti-chavez demonstrations in 2010 with us.

Does that mean you've finally come to realize he was not a strict dictator like they try to portray him?

I'm giving you a star my friend.

Apparently, your superior intellect also overlooked logic and reason by missing what is clearly inferred by what I said.

Obviously, people are not protesting a dead man.

People are protesting a Chavez regime which is still in power, and a Chavez legacy which is still in place. Both this regime and legacy are branded with the Chavez image and name.

Now that the man Chavez is gone, people want change. So they protest in the hopes they can somehow make some contribution toward this change now that it seems possible.

Protesting this "Chavez brand" would be relevant considering the upcoming elections. Does that make sense? He is gone, there will be elections, so now there is hope for change.

And what I said about the protests/tanks/troops was NOT taken from what I read in the media. To the contrary, I was explaining a first-hand account from a Venezuelan living in Caracas, across from the military academy where all this is taking place.

Thank you for saying what I have been thinking about this site! So many supposed "Ron Paul supporters" and "libertarians" who really support the exact opposite of what it means to be any of those things! I am 100% sure that Ron Paul doesn't support the type of socialistic 14 year rule that Chavez had.

Well if Ron Paul had got into power, Im sure he would have been more for opening up trade with Venezuela and Cuba than trying to overthrow their government to fit an Americas agenda. I think that's why people on the left like Ron Paul. Because he is a pragmatist and not an imperialist. He doesn't see every country as a possible threat but a trading opportunity
. Ron Paul obviously doesn't support the socialist policies of Chavez, but he probably doesn't agree with the regimes in many countries. Doesn't mean he wants to around the world changing those regimes.

To be fair seeing your avatar tells us exactly why you do not like Chavez I do not expect you to understand that he was wanted by his people (the majority) and voted in everytime.
You may have fallen for the US propagander against anything socialist but many in the world are thriving under socialism or aspects of it.
Also this 2 billion thing I would love to see proof because I have only seen western media say it is true.

Oh and dictator? After the failed coup he let many of the people involved back into government and then to prove that he is fair and square asked for international help to make sure the next elections were free and fair.

No, I meant what I said. And what I said is very simple to understand. I can imagine most people wouldn't think I am claiming people are protesting "Chavez - the dead man." It doesn’t make any rational sense. Why on Earth would you think that’s what I said??

I only explained it to you because you seemed confused.

There are no pictures and there are no links. As I explained, this is what I was told from a first-hand account from an in-law in Caracas.

Perhaps you aren't as aware of the situation in Caracas as you think you are. The account comes from someone who is poor. And poor down there is far different than poor in many western countries. Not everyone can afford even the cheapest of digital cameras; much less have access to the internet. Also, in most of Caracas, pulling out a camera would certainly draw the unwanted attention of someone with a gun who wants your digital camera. its not a very good idea to let anyone see you with one of you have one.

So, I guess, you'll just have to consider what I said as a possibility and find your own means of verification, or dismiss it altogether as some guy on some forum on some website saying something you don’t think is true.

How about you for once cut the "i know everything, you dont know anything" attitude that you seem to use in every post you write ? 'Seriously, it doesent make you an expert on socialism or Hugo Chavez just because you were born and raised on Cuba.

Read a book, deny ignorance ffs. I mean, reading your posts is like listening to Glenn Beck talking about socialism.

I find it interesting that you were not able to see an apparent common-sense truth by yourself. That is, even though a leader may try to stiffle free speech, it doesnt mean there won't be protests. duh! In fact, there may be even more protesting when oppressed people who are fed up with their oppressive government.

Take 5min and google some of the more notorious examples of nations who stifle or have stiffled free speech.

Look, I found just one of numerous examples of protests in the Soviet Union long before it became Mother Russia.
en.wikipedia.org...

I'm sure you can find more all by yourself.

Here is proof that your story is 100% completely fabricated. A lie.

Not only are there no protests around the city but there is literally no room for protests. Hundreds of thousands of Venezuelan people are on the streets in Caracas, to attend a funeral that is.

Experience makes him much more qualified than those who merely speculate on what is or isn't socialism.

When you experience something you come to know all of its nuances. Certainly, someone who experiences life under a socialist dictator would know what a socialist dictator looks like despite pretences.

It is Ayn Rand's experience that makes her books so wildly popular, is it not? Is she not considered an authoritative source on communism by many people since she grew up under a communist regime?
