Now in this one it appears that something else tries to hit it in some of those frames? You see it? Looks like it missed. They trying to shoot these things down?

No. That's called lens flare. Notice how it moves at the same rate as the meteor and the opposite direction - typical characteristics of lens flare.

Wait I'm laughing, I live in the suburbs of Philadelphia and for the past few years we see hundreds of these things in the sky many times a day. I didn't think they were meteors but shooting stars in the daylight. I even thought they were a new kind of jet plane. These objects stream across the skies a lot of the time leaving massive tails. The issue is that I don't think that they are planes..they seem to appear out of no where and then disappear into no where. They aren't meteors because many of them are heading up, yes heading up, at a 120 degree angle, but then they seem to first appear in the middle of the sky. ? We see hundreds of them in a year in very close proximity to each other. They seem too slow to be meteors and are usually too close together to be any sort of airplane. I don't know what they are. Plus if you live in the suburbs of Philadelphia you will see these things all the time and no one even comments about them...they leave a lot of writing in the skies that is usually pretty amazing. I don't know what they are...the kids would joke it's superman or a shooting star.

Ahh, Houston...We got a problem you ain't talking about? Cause I'm really starting to wonder now. I sure as heck hope this all isn't a prelude of what's to come...

Or is this normal, everyday stuff? I can't remember ever getting so many reports of these, in such a short period of time. Maybe it's just that there are more people looking, and more youtube-aware people looking up with videos cameras. Maybe it's ALWAYS been this way, and we just haven't heard about it so much like this.

Umm yeah. MAYBE.

FWIW, the number of "fireballs" reported to the American Meteor Society has gone up every year since 2005. BUT that's probably more due to easier access and more awareness, and not actually more fireballs. BUT 2012 saw 2173 reported - so far in 2013 there's been 441 reported, which projects out to over 3500 for the year. Not saying it means anything because there's a lot of variables in that data, but is interesting..

If these are planes, then they're certainly not commercial planes. And if they are, then that air-traffic controller should be fired!

Really? Good grief. How many stars did you get for that post? Do you have any understanding of how upper air routes function and how separation works? Will you be posting on these videos that the ATC controllers should be fired?
Come on guy and girls - Deny Ignorance - Please.

Are these aircraft flying too close? No!

I contacted the person that filmed the trails. The time was approximately 1:30 pm (18:30 UTC) (Eastern Standard Time = UTC / GMT difference -5 hours)

From the YT upload

There were no planes or jets seen!!! Maybe human space waste but what seems to be an afternoon meteor shower (but not speeding up?) seen from Philadelphia suburbs on February 18th, 2013. These are headed south, similar to the Russian meteor but opposite to that of the 2012 DA14 asteroid.

At the time of the filming you can see a cluster of aircraft using upper air route J75. See link to Sky Vector showing the routes around Philadelphia. The cluster of aircraft passing through during 1330 EST (1830 UTC) and producing contrails is likely to be what was filmed? Flight Radar 24 has limitations and not every aircraft is recorded.

Click on following link and zoom in on the map. These aircraft are using upper air route J75 at the time of the sighting. These are probably some of the aircraft producing the contrails as they utilise J75? Considering the amount of air traffic at the time in the area there is no way that pilots, crew and passengers are not going to miss claims of 'meteors' in the sky.
