Green 'Space' Slime Baffles Nature Experts

news.sky.com

A "weird" green slime said in folklore to appear at the same time as meteors hit Earth has been found in a birdlife park in Somerset. The RSPB have appealed for help in identifying the slime, which is said to be scattered on grass banks close to pools and lakes around Ham Wall Nature Reserve, near Glastonbury..

I find this a tad weird. I have never heard of a green 'space' slime that is said to appear around the time a meteor hits the Earth. Interesting tho that experts are said to be baffled as to what it is and say that there is records dating back to the 14th century which mention this 'astral jelly'

thoughts anyone?

I did a quick search for this story before posting, apologies if this is already posted.

Looks like someone did a huge sneeze to me, I do find it odd though that they only started finding this a week ago after Russia was hit by that meteor and how mythology / folklore states that it is present during or around the time of a meteor strike / shower...maybe something from the meteor reacts with oh I don't know I'm not even going to pretend I have an idea of what it is.

Many different theories ... and actual answers in many cases for Star Jelly.

It has historically been linked to meteor and meteorite occurrence.

I've read plenty of theories about life being seeded on earth by meteorites, ie, bacteria / protein pumps and organic material was first brought to earth from meteors.. Maybe this is the stuff?

Perhaps, as it lands in an already life filled world, it is quickly destroyed or integrated by other life, however... if it were to land on a life less earth, one with only the pre requisites of life, ie water and warmth, then it would survive and thrive.. and after 4 billion years.. man arises.

Lol.. god sperm>??? the earth is the ovary.

"One suggested it was neither animal nor plant, and another that it didn't contain DNA, although it does give the appearance of something 'living'

yeah it is weird. I do find it funny that it has inspired the movie 'The Blob' from the 1950's

Collect it and throw that stuff on EBAY!!

Gotta be worth some money.....

Why aren't tests done on it already like they do to the rock shards from the meteor itself? Something hidden in this goo?

Looks like a lot of birds pooped all at once , like they were scared and lost their sh** when the sound wave hit. ...but, on a scientific note....that's the stuff that made us through time and evolution.

Well I for one would'nt fancy picking it up, eewww.

On the wiki page it states on one report from the 50's of the slime that " When they tried to pick it up, it dissolved into an "odorless, sticky scum."

Ok, well I am officially intrigued now...there was a wildlife photogapher that caught
some pics of a very "ghost rocket" looking UFO right before this happened,
over the Avalon Marshes. Is this connected somehow?

Was UFO Spotted Over Avalon Marshes Similar To Meteor Fireball In Russia
thanks Snaffers

Its appearance has coincided with a meteor strike in Russia and the harmless fly-by of an asteroid at a record distance from Earth last week.

The public are being warned not to touch the mystery substance, and to inform nature reserve staff if they spot any.

Really?
