Don't the polls indicate he was the only president the public received less well than G.W. ?

I'm not sure where you're getting the idea that he's the idol of all democrats. He isn't. And frankly, it doesn't matter. No one wants to extend the presidency beyond 2 terms - Democrat or Republican.

Judging by his "landslide" victory in November? Unless, we were right about those Soros machines swapping out votes...

ok so you think that Jose Serrano is just a lone guy on this? Could be why his bill never gets any traction.
So you don't think an 83 to 90 percent approval rate among Democrats would get him at least a third term?

www.realclearpolitics.com...

If he is allowed to continue his rampage through Congress and signing Executive Orders to go around the Constitution on UN programs like Agenda 21, people might finally see what is going on and vote him out, at least the ones who still want liberty and private property and not the Communitarianism of Green Socialism.

But even if the general population of Democrats are not still enamored by him, I think the large numbers of Democratic Socialists in Congress still would like him to be in charge longer. But who says they are sane people?

It was a rhetorical question. He has already received the lowest approval rating of any president ever. It doesn't matter that he was re-elected after serving a first term. There are only a handful of presidents who didn't get re-elected. And perhaps it had something to do with the person he was running against. (Rhetorical sarcasm again - it does have to do with the fact that he ran against Romney and all GOP candidates were lunatics)

"Communism" "Green Socialism" "Democratic Socialists" BS buzzwords that mean nothing

I challenge you to define socialism without the use of a dictionary or wikipedia.

Indeed - the 22nd amendment was passed by Congress in 1947, and ratified by the states in 1951.

For about 170-180 years before then the US managed to exist without it, several Presidents tried to be elected for a 3rd term, but only Roosevelt succeeded - winning 4.

Clearly the post war government of the USA went against the wishes of the founding fathers and this is a modern nonsense!

8 pages and yet we still do not have any indication of how abolishing term limits equates to a dictatorship.

The title of this thread is something Hannity would say. Why is it that when Obama wants to do something, things which require congressional approval, he is considered a dictator?

Things like spending. The POTUS cannot spend anything without congressional approval. Debt ceiling debate equates the president wanting a blank checkbook. It goes on and on with the right. The lying has to stop sooner or later. If you don't support what the POTUS wants to do, then so be it. Why though, come to ATS and create ludicrous threads filled with lies?

We are supposed to deny ignorance, not lie and scare people with absurd statements.

That partisan left wing tripe and nowhere near the reality. I hope you realize this.

Yes Bush left the country in such good shape we lost nearly 1,000,000 jobs the month Obama
was sworn in

Such tripe

Some might look at that and say Bush left the nation in such bad shape ...Employers flushed their rolls as some parting shot of spite and a welcome to better times arrived as Obama was sworn in. Others would look at that as the reaction of business AS A RESULT of Obama winning the election.

To settle that question, I'd just point to the unemployment numbers that release in this month and again in February. I'll say that should tell a lot, as once can be a mystery for debate ... the second time ought to be an indication of pattern.

Time and numbers will show that very soon either way,.

Who is the 'they' here? Seems to me that it's one more single-sponsored piece of legislation that will die in committee. I dislike posts like these that seek to sensationalize to such a wild extent. It's as if the OP did not examine the actual facts in this story, and instead just made the conclusion he/she wanted to state and then finessed the facts (including but not limited to the onerous process by which an amendment to the Constitution is enacted).

I feel like a little Schoolhouse Rock could save a lot of threads.

And it's threads that deal in hyperbole that take time and resources away from material and important topics on ATS.

On a larger point -- regardless of what party is in power, how is a bill introducing a proposal to repeal a relatively recent amendment akin to the Reichstag fire??? If the people -- who vote on Constitutional Amendments want to do so, it's entirely within their rights. It's also within their rights to repeal amendments such as prohibition and its ultimate repeal.

Is it really that sinister and shocking that a member of congress would take a shot at passing a bill that serves his own party interests?

Thanks for saying what I was trying to say in a much more succinct and eloquent way. I can't imagine that some of these absurd-on-their-face threads are designed to create white noise to drown out more legitimate discussion. I guess I'm contributing to the noise by answering it, so Imma shut up now.

People said eventually they would get shot down later, and they haven't. Honestly, Obama has nothing to lose right now, and the idea of him getting impeached is ludacris.

NDAA, NDRP, The extension of the Patriot Act, an agenda is being pushed.

All you can do is enjoy the ride.

I agree. None of these people do. This is what all of them have been waiting for. An American public so dumbed down and bewildered it takes very little effort on their part to get tacit approval they need for anything they want.

Make no mistake. Whatever happens, what we are seeing right now is analogous to a predator stalking it's prey. It's hard to say exactly what they want without being an insider but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to intuit that whatever it is ain't good.

You gotta be kidding me, but then again foreigners don't know much about america to begin with.

Voting for either a democrat or republican has become a sick and dangerous joke on the population.

I will never, never, never, never vote for either!!!!!!!! There are other choices to make like green party, libertarian party or constitution party. I am leaning towards the constitution party because it makes the most sense of all. We need to end corporate imperialism, stop israeli aggression, stop illegal immigration, close down at least 50% of our foreign military bases and cut down the military budget accordingly, encourage balanced tariffs, stop assaulting the second amendment, curtaill wall street greed, allow for ufo&alien disclosure, stop borrowing insane amounts of money and try to balance the budget, hit the billionares with confiscatory taxes(40% or higher) to allow for redistribution, prop up small and medium business at the expense of big business, stop big pharma from making people sick, go after masons if need be.

Forget mainstream politics. THEY ARE CONTROLLED!

This US Rep, a democrat- of course- is trying once again to bestow kingdom on the usurper.

www.popvox.com...

H.J.Res. 15: Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to repeal the twenty-second article of amendment, thereby removing the limitation on the number of terms an individual may serve as President.

Remove the term limits, hack the voting machines (completed), and you too can have perpetual rule, even in America. Amerika. The end.

NOT going to happen...the people wouldn't allow it and this US Representative should be pulled from office immediately. I will be honest though, I'm afraid for my own well-being and the well-being of my family, had I commented how I'd like to.

In a sick way, I would like to see this Bill Pass, just for the Enjoyment of seeing GOP supporters Squirm.

Deep down they all Love Obama, they are just too Shy to Admit it.

No. Deep down there is nothing, nothing that I love about Obama the bomber.

Nothing.

You and yours are more than welcome to admire certain qualities (at least I'm assuming there MUST be some affable qualities in there somewhere given the sheer scope of his fandom) about Obama while blithely dismissing his imperialistic, tyrannical, destructive tendencies. That's your business.

There are those who have very clear, logical, and unmistakable reasons to despise the man. Anyone who pays attention to his foreign policy while ALSO claiming to care about peace/human rights requires a level of cognitive dissonance than I didn't realize was possible in the human mind.

This isn't about partisan politics. Or race. Or entitlement spending. Or guns. Or religion.

The man is a monster. Period.

The problem is NOT the term limit. The problem is the lack of coverage of small parties and the NEED for parties to relly on financial contributions to survive and get elected. If a president and vp were good then I would have no problem with him/her getting rellected constantly.

People are looking in the wrong direction. It is a distraction.

Yeah I had a reply all set up for this. Exactly how you stated in a sense. Even if we abolish the 22nd Amendment it doesn't equate to a dictatorship. The Federal setup is designed to be in direct contradiction of it along with the separated powers doctrine. In every scenario, it doesn't lead to one:

President declares himself a dictator; states go against him and Congress oust him.
President declares himself a dictator with military support; States march on him to oust him....

Just won't happen. People are just ill-informed and uneducated and listen to too much Left/Right media....

hahaha that's exactly how they want you to think. Obama was Bush 2.0.

Bush screwed us, Obama is trying to finish us off. There is no difference between the two other than skin color.

If Bill Clinton wanted to be POTUS again all he has to do is run....the term limits only apply to more than two terms in a row not that you can never be POTUS again after you serve your two terms....so if they wanted Clinton in office he can again take office.
