Here was my bug out kit for the big day,

I had only 7 miles to reach my home but estimated it would take me 24/36 hours to get there, This was my basic "Get me out of dodge" (Belfast city) basic gear.

Great pack. Here are some things that I can't see from the picture that you might want to include for the biggest time you may need it

Rope
6" buck knife
Folding shovel tool
Baggie of dryer lint for starting fires
Bottled water
Can opener
Compass

Cheers

I'm concerned about showing my preparedness area online, for reasons obvious to researchers.

I wish I had a good bug out bag prepped, but I knew I wouldn't need one yet, "the Force" said I wouldn't, but I do have a basement full of food to last 2 people almost 8 months. I also have enough ammo to take down 300 Walkers, if I'm a good shot.

Picture: 15 bins full of food in a dirt floor basement.

That's an awesome picture I never took.

Huh?

I didn't "picture" anything except what I planted in imagination.

I don't have a B.O.B. prepared, I have a bunker basement prepared.
I can handle almost anything except a solar flare. I also can;t take on a bus load of ppl whining about needing an extra cigarette. Those herds can be worse than a Walking Dead mob, stay away from bus stations.

Welp, there's my problem, I didn't pay enough attention to the poster. Forget I said anything!

Before teasing, what do you offer to the topic?

Offer something substantial, image or description, or don't.
Kind of trolling otherwise, no?

You are a worthy adversary on many topics, just saying.
ETA- water is something you take in moderate amounts in a bag, it's abundant most places plotted out.

Reminds me off an old joke, drneville.

I loved the way she grouned and moaned
And the silent whispers she made
and the tears in her eyes where priceless.

DUCT TAPE, I LOVE IT !!!

Is that what you meant.

Thanks for the replys guys

I would replace your box-cutters with a knife. You aren't trying to commit suicide or cut boxes, so, an upgrade couldn't hurt. And you can probably find one with a very comparable weight.
Also the blade is not going to last on anything serious(I am thinking branches, bushes, animals, etc.) so you'd have to carry a pack of extra razors, which is just un-needed weight. I will try to post my BOB in a few days. Can never hurt to go through it and check what I need to add and possibly take out.

England has some very restricted rules on knives, but i would recommend the spyderco UK pen knives, they don't have a locking blade so there for legal in your country, cheap and good quality blades

Foxhoundone,

Is that a LOWE-ALPINE hat I see there? Could you tell me more about that? They make some excellent gear. I use a pac-lite goretex shell from them and it is an A+ piece of kit. It can fold up and be kept in my pocket, but it is not flimsy, it's a substantial bad weather shell.

drneville,

Is that a spyderco knife in your EDC? What model is that?

LOWE ALPINE, Simply top drawer gear, M/C especially for wind chill factoring you will be warm as toast,
Ok the box cutter knife is a bit basic but will keep me going till i reach somwhere for better upgrading so to speak.
Another item worth remembering to pruck on your travels is the old type car jack the scissor type great for forcing window bars at the back off shops and malls.

As you know knifes are very restricted in the UK so im reluctant to carry one, anyways got me hammer it should hurt when thrown properly.

Make sure to post more BOBs its good to see differant designs.
And again thanks for posting guys.

Please help me on a few things ..

Why the tin snips ?
Why the ball peen hammer ?
Why that large flashlight ( when you have an LED light ) ?
Why the large scissors ?
Why the security lock ?
Why the adjustable wrench with a cheesy plastic clip ?
Why the 4 pack baked beans ?

Just wondering why these items are a must have in a bob.

JD.
