Thanks Marlow - unfortunately it did not link to a higher res. I did try some searches at the sources listed (Hearst Connecticut Newspapers & News-Times) to no avail. It does look like the front and rear plates are different though.

EDIT TO ADD: From searching for some of that credit info it was also posted at below link which is where the photographer works it seems...but still same link to low res image:

Member DestroyDestroyDestroy ran the picture through some filters to clarify the image and it would appear that the license plate does not match the******* seen on the black honda on the lowboy tow truck.

Well, back to
then lol. It'd be great to get a high res of it but I don't want to send the photographer a request...any volunteers? When I look at the low-res, I can convince my mind that all but the second to last digit matches. When I look at the above image, I can force a 7 and maybe a Y to match.

edit: that's a pretty good filter it seems...did he state what program he used? I tried several things in Photoshop and it looked garbage, but I'm not an expert in it either.

PLEASE ALL READ THIS:

No Newtown conspiracy

Chris Rodia of Norwalk said he has been threatened after it was falsely reported in blogging that he was a possible second suspect in the Newtown shootings. Rodia's car was pulled over by police in Greenwich on the morning of the shootings.

I think you can not increase the sharpness of the license plate at the back of the car more and more and more and compare it then with the 872-YEO. What DestroyDestroyDestroy should do is to take a picture of the front plate, then decrease the resolution and after that apply the filters again and see if he will come up with the original 872-YEO. I doubt this will be the case.
It is the same when you take a random english text, translate it into chinese and then translate it back to english, this will not bring the original english text back.
which results in (with Google translate)
"This is the same as when you put a random English text, translated into Chinese, then translated back to English, which will put the original English text."

"No Newtown conspiracy"

www.ctpost.com...

Not so fast!!

First off, Greenwich is about 70 miles from Newtown. Would any radio transmission from that area have been picked up by a police scanner in Newtown/Sandy Hook? I doubt it.

Secondly, from the link:
"I was with my niece driving my mother's sage green Nissan," the 43-year-old Norwalk resident said."

But the vehicle in question was a black Honda, which still has a license plate that is traced back to him.

"Greenwich Detective Vincent O'Banner remembers pulling Rodia over in that city around the time of the Newtown shootings. "I do remember that," he said. "I gave him a verbal warning." "

So why did the vehicle end up on the back of a tow vehicle if all the guy got was a verbal warning? And detectives now pull people over just to give warnings?

"The car confiscated at the scene, the black Honda with that license plate, belongs to a relative of Lanza's and not to Rodia, he said."

I thought it belonged to the mother? Now it's some other relative?

Fuhgeddibout it, the case is still all over the map. Things are even screwier than they were before.

Yes Newtown Conspiracy!!!!

Here's yet another odd report:

www.courant.com...
An administrative worker at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has been placed on a paid leave pending an investigation of a Dec.16 incident in which she allowed her husband, who is not an authorized employee of the office, to view the body of mass killer Adam Lanza two days after the Newtown school massacre.
Sources said that Jean Henry, a processing technician at the Farmington facility, and her husband entered the refrigerated room in which bodies are kept...

My gut feeling is that this is a contrived event to reinforce the theory that a guy named Adam Lanza actually died in the incident. Which, don't get me wrong, might have happened, but I haven't seen any evidence to that effect.

Hi all. I have a question:

On that tape, R's name can be heard shortly after a police officer calls in the license plate, 872-YEO, as the "possible suspect vehicle."

Does this plate number belong to R? Or the other license plate called in?

It must be the other license plate, because that Black Honda with 872-YEO was towed away from the scene.

At 10:01 The other license plate was called in a motor vehicle stop. At 10:06 they call in the 872-YEO license plate and then his name comes back over the radio. So I guess in the above article they failed to mention that his was another license plate called in.

A member, ratboy, said after looking it up though, that this first plate was a Porsche regarding to a VEIN Nr? Sorry not sure if I said that correctly. In the article he states it was a green honda.

Very good points, radio transmissions from other towns around Newtown would have been cluttering up the airwaves before one from Greenwich. The fact that it was necessary to write a news article disputing some random blogger means many people are questioning, you'd think they would just ignore it if it weren't doing damage to the OS. This could be good sign.

So from reading the article, do you think they refer to the other license plate? If so, maybe Ratboy can look that up again as it was a Porsche, just to confirm.

The car towed away from the scene with [snipped] was referred to as N.Lanza's,that A.Lanza stole this morning. It is black and not green. Now its a relatives. Misreporting from the MSM?

Here is the timeline again

(LINK)

The car confiscated at the scene, the black Honda with that license plate, belongs to a relative of Lanza's and not to Rodia, he said.

Is his name not tied to any license plate in those recordings? I will go listen again. Did his name just come up when they issued him a warning?

You can hear it in recording 4.and I ask you is it coming back to the license plate or not?

Okay, it seems we are no longer allowed to post the number or images of the license plate. Luckily, I still have the original posting open in a browser tab, so I see that there was the real plate number in the posting instead of *******

I distance myself from the video title, however I nonetheless included the video here, because I couldn't find another one with this very important message of Lt. Vance which seems to bear fruit.

Uhm.. try again on your distances, in order for Greenwich CT to be 70 miles from Newtown CT (they are actually about 5-6 miles away from each other) Newtown would have to be in the North-East section where Thompson and Putnam are..

Sorry dude...Fairfield County ONLY contains the extreme south-west corner of the state and both Newtown and Greenwich (as well as Stamford, Bridgeport and a few other small towns) are...

Ok, the 70 miles was an incorrect figure, but so is 5 miles. More like 25 miles, by my map.

--------------

This is an interesting article that hints that this investigation may yet ensnare others:

www.courant.com...
...Danbury State's Attorney Stephen J. Sedensky said he will continue to work with local, state and federal agencies on the criminal probe and decide, when the final report is done, if there will be any arrests. ...investigators are trying to determine if anyone knew Lanza had planned the assault.

So if anyone will be arrested it will be members of Lanza's social milieu; though the police have not even acknowledged that such a group exists. I think there is also a possibility that not ALL of the weapons found were legally acquired.

It's far from 25 miles away..the Merritt runs through there and it's about 7 1/2 minutes from the Newtown exit to the Greenwich exit.. (speed limit is 55, strictly adhered to)

Google earth says it is 45 miles from Newtown to Greenwich.

they can say it all they want I drive it every day, it's 7 1/2 minutes from exit to exit.. Hartford would be like 100 miles by that estimation, and it's not.. Hartford is exactly 43.7 miles form Newtown on the Merritt Parkway. The first Greenwich exit is 60.2 miles from Hartford on the Merritt Parkway...

Do the math, it's not an extra 45 miles from Newtown's exit (which admittedly is on the far lower corner of Newtown) to the upper corner of Greenwich, Google Earth also doesn't take into account that there are numerous small towns all along the way in there that are actually part of either Newtown or Greenwich.. (Cos Cob comes to mind) Most of our larger towns have smaller towns embedded in them, and Google tends to claim the are all separate entities when they are not..

A very good example of this phenomenon can be found North of Hartford in a town called Windsor...

there is Windsor the Town including the towns of : Windsor Center, Wilson, Day Hill, Rainbow, Hayden Station and Poquonock.

It's kind of like saying Mystic CT is a real town, when in fact it's part of Groton..
