Heff, Very good post brother, I agree 100% with what you layed out. I never could understand why some posters say such crazy things assuming that nobody is listening or watching in this case. This thread is an excellent thread to offer some brief discussion about the internet kill switch and other related matters that such an ability could do to our ability to freely "use" the internet.

The use of an internet kill switch from a logical perspective, can have a valid justification if properly applied, but it also has a dark side and that is what I feel most worry about.

While the good or bad of such a kill switch can be a topic of much discussion, I also think that such a disclosure about a Internet Kill Switch should be seen in a larger, but different perspective, that I will briefly discuss.

On November 21, 2012 Obama signed a memorandum titled:

Presidential Memorandum -- National Insider Threat Policy and Minimum Standards for Executive Branch Insider Threat Programs, MEMORANDUM FOR THE HEADS OF EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENTS AND AGENCIES

This memorandum has gone silent in the media and because of the silence surrounding this memorandum a recent article I read, it helped me to see that what I was thinking was perhaps more accurate than I could imagine. It also began me thinking about the many other questions that I am certain many will immediately suspect and or discover once this memo gets some needed discussion.

This Internet Kill Switch is in my opinion part of a concerted effort to prepare for something very specific in nature that would require a Internet Kill switch in the first place. I feel the Internet Kill Switch is somehow related to this new Obama memo and such a kill switch would be needed, to be able to implement and act on "the selective threat" as described or alluded to in the Obama memo of 11-21-12.

We have seen in current events the removal of many Generals and Admirals that many suspect other motivations for their removal and as motivations go, consider for a moment that the Internet Kill Switch is needed to shut out the hidden enemy within the govt that Obama's memo points to. If this is so, then we must begin to see what else such a memo hides in its instruction to the Heads of State.

Couldn't agree more, but the ratio of people waking up compared to the number of people sitting in their proverbial Wall-E lounge chairs is discouraging. Something big would have to happen for the inmates as a whole to realize that the jailers and their illusions are weaksauce.

At any rate, I'm personally surprised that the internet has remained such a "wild west" for as long as it has. Ya sort of get the feeling that it was only a matter of time before they found a way to crack down on it. I mean, they've owned the rest of the media for a long, long time. The internet has to be quite the thorn in their side.

As gruesome and unkind a place as it can be, I still have hope. There's lots of really smart folks dedicated to the cause of internet freedom.

And it's time we fight back against this, to preserve our rights with not just the internet, but the rights that were born to us. Nobody is allowed to take them away, but if someone tries, we have to step up and go against it.

Doesn't matter, if they want to kill it all they have to do is declare Marshall law, end of story.

Besides who gives a flying f any more when we know they can download text, email, video, twitter, facebook, and practically your hard drive and are making more laws to make it easier, face it, we lost this war a long time ago.

The only real way to end it is for everyone in the entire world to drop their carriers and internet providers for 1-5 years so basically everything goes belly up and the industry guts itself. There is soooo much money invested in this that if everyone were to just say F THIS please end my contract when up and no renew thank you. No industry, no need for laws plus they would all be out of a job, for going along with what ever the government tells them to instead of standing up for its customers in court.

I mean seriously how can you make laws "forcing " a private company to hold a private persons records for 3-15 years. Either that or the company is in bed with the government or owned by it.

Many of the sites you mention are established by various intelligence agencies, too many to mention 'here' in order to entrap others to compromise them when/if desired for whatever reason one could 'think' of. For example, input a phrase such as "Mature pics" and whalla you get a cornucopia of sites to choose from. Most of the sites that come up first has pictures that are not "mature" though something entirely different. I take no issue with admiring the physical form, (no harm done) though some of these sites advertise/promote some very sick 'stuff' I'd rather not mention here.

Oh, I've seen it, not by intention as it's in your face whether you 'googled' it or not. So yes, there should be some censorship of the blasphemous content as any child can be and are exposed to it. This was also designed to take place in order to give reason to censor the internet and corrupt/depress humanity/society. Problem>Reaction>Solution. I enjoy a females 'form' as well as the psychology behind the face, strange topics, though should be understood. Sometimes the 'face' is different than the body, sometimes it's digitally altered to conceal the identity. Some pornographic subjects are willing while others are forced due to drugs/slavery/threats. There is a large difference between the two and are not often so obvious as the faces sometimes don't match the body as mentioned above.

Not crazy at all, just intelligent and I understand the thin red line one must dance on which Heff mentioned. With that being said though, do you have some kind of reading comprehension problem or something? Obviously you have not even read fully any of my posts. Someone giving their own opinion on what they believe will happen in the future in regards to policing the internet is just that, an opinion. They already do all those things. I get charged for using the internet. Censorship exists. They spy on whoever they want at will. (Though some people make it much easier).
