I am not a Republican so you can just stop playing that card right now. The fed it self has estimated a complete recession at 99%.

Your perception of my intent couldn't be more wrong and just serves to prove my point in that there are way too many people who think there is an actual difference between Mitt and Obama. The country is already governed by socialism, that is not arguable, it is also governed by corporatism and lobbyist. Those are the forces that drive this country. Period.

Period? Not really....Lobbiests are pawns. Corporatist's are owners and CEOS are Executives. There is the top 14% that own business, and the 1% who own conglomerates of many business's and industries. Government is mandated and run by the 1% and the .0001 part of the 1% and the Bankers. They manage to get politicians to push bills and amendments through for them under the auspices of helping us all. What killed the economy long term and damaged our middle class was tax redistribution under Reagan and tax exceptions under Bush. Both of those took a great deal of what the wealthy were paying and spread it out among the poor or simply released the debt.

We are far from socialist. That would indicate an equality that is not present in this Republic. We are an Oligarchy more like Mexico with a vastly unequal government that caters to a few rich old money Americans....Approximately 400 families to be exact. I think they have organized and call themselves the Heritage Foundation.

America was founded on quite sound principals and the Constitution is a living document. As long as you don't insert loopholes to cater to the very rich it will work to advance the peoples will. You have to make it work the way it is supposed to and not weaken or the regulations placed on the banking industry.

And it doesn't help to listen to random doomsayers saying "We're socialist" because we have social programs at all. Entitlement? We give measly few benefits, and few of us have mandatory heath care yet. A socialist government means my heath care would already be free. Socialist? Tell that to the Socialists. Why don't you go to the Socialist Party website and see how Obama fares with them? LOL

Afraid you're delusional, no offense.
Show me where I called you a Republican.

What you call entitlements are leveling of the playing field.

This is how socialist we are:

My wife and I are 25 year old college students with two children, living on financial aid, student loans, and a very small business we were able to start with money from student loans. We do not have health insurance. Last week I had to go the ER because I had a terrible tooth ache and my whole face was swollen. The doc says that I have something called an abscessed tooth and that he can prescribe me antibiotics as a temporary solution but that I have to go to a dentist about it or the infection is going to spread to my brain and kill me...

Now according to the U.S government I don't qualify for any kind of insurance. Unlike what to me seems to be the majority of Americans my age, my parents are unable to help me in any way. The "poor people dentist" is not currently taking applicants for any reason. I have no choice but to go to a dentist that is going to cost far more than I can afford to pay. Or die and leave my wife behind with two children and no help. Now don't take this the wrong way, I'm not trying to whine about the situation or anything like that, I'm just proving a point. (Honestly, I'm not afraid to die, I suffer from major depression and hell I see it as a relief from the stupidity that is this whole world) But I don't want to leave my family behind to fend for themselves and do realize that maybe when (if) life does improve, that the depression might go away and I'll see things a bit differently.

The whole point is that America IS NOT A SOCIALIST COUNTRY! Because if it was, I would not be told to f*ck off and fend for myself. Not that that's a problem, I'm fine with that and don't expect others to put me up, I just wish that there was a job available for someone who always works harder than and constantly outperforms the offspring of the middle and upper class in a college setting that would allow for me to afford for my family to "survive."

To claim that America is a socialist country and that all of the poor have a free pass for everything is one of the most moronic statements that someone who claims to understand government could make...

????? Are you serious? You must be living in a high taxed township/county. It all depends on what kind of home you are referring to. Many states and counties have homes that range from 10K to 50K. Lets be realistic now. It may not be all fancy but it does house a small family with bedrooms, kitchen, living room, garage, basement and bathrooms.

Yeah I known plenty servers/bartenders in NJ they pay $2.03/hr (when I applied) and they're lucky to take $250 home at the end of the week in one of the highest priced states on the planet. That's why I was wondering My friend worked three jobs just to pay her bills which didn't include mortgage because her family gave her her home, and they pay the taxes or did that was just for her electric/phone/water garbage etc bills...I'm moving to Chicago down here in Fl it's stil 2.45 and hour for server and the tips are emaciated (also know a person who serves here). That's why I asked but two incomes helps too. I would assume.
Jersey (east coast) and west coast real estate is definitely expensive. You should check out the real estate market in some of the hard hit areas which even during a prosperous economy, the home value is much much lower (ample of land not many people). Heck you can buy foreclosed properties in suburban Detroit for less than a grand (ofcourse in a crappy neighborhood) but its still a house which you can fix it on your own or pay for it. ATS had several threads on those as well

GE hasn't paid any taxes because they haven't made any money. People don't espouse socialism because they are lazy. It's because they don't feel they should always have to compete over resources that are abundantly available.
