Sandy, Mitt's momentum died the second Sandy became the top story.

Disasters are always great for the President.

Ron Paul, A lot of support could have gone toward the Republican candidate Mitt Romney but didn't, because Ron Paul never endorsed anyone but himself,

Watch from 2:40

Ron Paul had an opportunity many times to support the man that would cut off foreign aid, cut off the promised billions going to Egypt, guess who is the exact opposite of Ron Paul? Obama, yet Ron Paul fans obviously voted and favored Obama to the man that was politically closer to Ron Paul, Mitt Romney.

It's your own fault Ron Paul people, as for Sandy, that was a freak storm, and I don't blame anyone for that, but the youth demographic, the Ron Paul base would have helped a lot, it looks like out of touch urban big city America remain in power,

Think the modern great depression has hit in the past 4 years? Think again, like out of touch Sam Jackson suggests, in his 2nd term Obama is going to do some crazy ****.

Obama supporters are drunk on the kool-aid, no doubt, but the only supporters more out of touch I would say are those selfish enough to throw their vote away & not vote, and still support someone as selfish as Ron Paul, do you honestly think Ron Paul isn't a millionaire from the t-shirts you've purchased from him? He is a pipe dream, you smoked it and he is laughing all the way to the bank. That last interview with Jay Leno proves how mindless the audience was, Ron Paul only cares about 1 thing, himself.

Can't say I agree or disagree with you, I place the blame for this election on the big two parties.

Ron Paul has the best, most consistent voting record of an person in the US electorate, he is not even on the same planet as Mitt Romney!

Romney is a loser, he lost in 08 because he was not the person we wanted, wh would we like the loser any more this time?

Listen to those cheers that man gets.

Ron Paul and his followers didnt make Romney lose.

Romney made Romney lose.

If any arguement can be made- it would be that Romney made Paul lose by cheating his way to the GOP nominee.

Most Ron Paul supporters I know wouldnt vote for Obama if it was the last thing they ever did.

Romney lost to Obama. thats sad. Ron Paul would have SMOKED Obama, so its too bad the GOP had to resort to cheating , or maybe this country would be celebrating a republican win right now.

Blame the Romney campaign for not getting the vote out.

Ron Paul ran a campaign to make his family richer. He was a nepotist and set up a bright future for his son.

Ron Paul claims to be against ear-marks yet requests them
Ron Paul claims to be against wars but voted for the invasion of Afghanistan
Ron Paul claims to be a libertarian but is against gay marriage
Ron Paul received millions from Bilderberg steering committee member Peter Theil.

Agree.

RP or GJ didn't take enough votes away from Romney to make him lose anyway.

That "sandy" excuse was already expected from both sides.

If Romney had won it would have been because of sandy also.

Obama won because Mitt wouldn't tell the electorate what his specific plans were for America, wouldn't release his tax returns to show transparency, and kept changing position every 5 minutes on almost every issue.

Most voters say Hurricane Sandy had almost no impact on their voting decision. Ron Paul wasn't an influential part of the campaign process for at least six months before the election.

Romney was already losing Ohio before Hurricane Sandy came ashore. The fact that Obama was in the headlines for 5 days leading up to the election was a moot point. If Romney couldn't convince the electorate to vote for him after six years of campaigning (yes, I'm including the 2008 candidacy as well), 5 extra days really isn't going to make a difference.

Even if Romney won Ohio, he still would have lost. Obama would currently be at 283 EC votes, awaiting results from Florida.

Romney lost in every major swing state that he was "hoping" to win, due to just not being honest and above board with the American people.

FOX NEWS has been touting "Sandy" and "Chris Christie" as reasons for Romney losing for about a week now.

The Republicans are going to be throwing Chris Christie under the bus for the approving statements he gave to the media about Obama's assistance for storm relief. It's too bad, he would have been a leading contender in 2016 but now looks as though the Republicans are going to be making him the fall guy for all Mitt's failings.

Romney swung too far to the right to win the candidacy, and was never able to swing back to the center far enough or early enough to convince the average American that a President Romney was a good idea.

Moderate Mitt might have stood a chance. Far Right Mitt NEVER had a chance.

The idea that you can win elections without telling people your plans and without talking to the press is laughable.

Blaming their loss on a hurricane and Ron Paul. Typical right wing denial.

The Republicans Bet Everything, and Obama Won It All

Great article on why the Republicans lost.

The GOP never recovered the public trust. Beginning with their policies that ushered in an era of corporate malfeasance and offshoring, then refusing to accept the consequences of their policies and blocking every attempt to repeal bad policies and put into place sound ones. The GOP didn't lose to Obama, they lost because NO ONE TRUSTS THEM anymore.

Too many people saw Romney but heard Bush.

It's only been 4yrs since bush totally raped the American pubic and mindset, Obama was always going to win.

What I hate about the process, is the house, senate and congress.

Its in the republicans best interests to totally destroy ANYTHING Obama tries to put in place, be it good or bad.

So in 4yrs they can chuck on Bill Oreilly to say '' In 4yrs what has this president achieved? NOTHING! ''

Its a flawed system!

Romney lost because every time he opened his mouth he stuck his foot in it clear to his fricking knee. The guy was so inept at being a polished politician it was just unreal. Romney was the Republican equivalent of John Kerry.

I don't see it as Obama winning because of Ron Paul, rather the republicans lost because they did not listen to ron paul and his supporters who refused to vote for romney, so romney lost because of ron paul supporters, arguably plausible, but ron paul certainly had nothing to do with obama winning
he was most likely sitting at home with his family on election night. As far as conspiracy theories go, this one is a doozy to imagine ron paul somehow influencing the election from his lazyboy.

As for the storm, the media ignored the real consequences of the disaster and only in a screwed up world (like ours) could a president have a higher approval rating because citizens are running out of gas and basic supplies. Kind of like how bush's approval skyrocketed after 3000 americans died, either this is political chicanery or idiots voting, maybe both.

Based on what? Empty campaign rhetoric? C'mon man Ron Paul knows EXACTLY what Romney is all about and it is the same thing Obama is all about. THAT is why Ron Paul never endorsed Romney because he's been around long enough to know an establishment hack when he sees one. Romney is not one bit closer to Ron Paul than Obama and that's why there was no endorsement. Romney lost because he sucks and nobody liked him and rather than ignoring Ron Paul, the GOP should have NOMINATED him so today we would have a true conservative celebrating victory. Instead we get 4 more years of obummer, not because of Sandy or Ron Paul but because the GOP ignored the only winning chance they had--it was the GOP's own fault so today they can suck it.

Being excited about Obama is blatantly ignorant. Have you slept through the last 4 years? If Romney had won and some knucklehead was excited about it, that would be pretty stupid. But at least Romney would have not yet begun reversing promises and ushering in tyranny. Obama is 4 years into his reign of destruction and you get excited?? Are you doing it just to avoid a spot on the kill list or something??
