Congratulations to those of us who voted for Johnson. But I still liken it to the "Charge of the Light Brigade."

We fought the good fight, knowing we would lose.

But isn't it a required 5% that is needed to recieve Federal funding?

Let's face it folks, without money to get the message out, there will be no 3rd Party.

Now is the time for the Liberatarians get start getting their message out over the next four years. Obama will even help out by trashing this country during his last term in office.

Don't give up the ship!

Dang 4% short of our goal... Oh well there is always 4 years from now (hopefully if our country still exists). What I'm really tired of hearing is all the people saying that a vote for Gary Johnson is a vote for Obama. NO NO NO NO! A vote for Gary Johnson is exactly that! A vote for Gary Johnson. The whole talking point that we are "stealing" votes from the Republican candidate is just a lie perpetuated back in 1992 by the Republican party because they lost. Now its repeated as fact. I can say that if Johnson wasn't on the ticket and all I had to choose from was Obama or Romney, I wouldn't vote and neither of those two crooks would get my vote. I'm sure its a matter of time before news stories (probably originating at Fox News) start circulating around saying that the reason they lost is because of the vote for Johnson. All this lie does is marginalize the independent vote and makes people believe that it is a waste of vote to vote independent. Oh well rant over.

Congratuatlions on getting to 1% Johnson. Hopefully someday the sheeple will wake up and stop buying into this rigged two party system and realize that they have more options then evil guy #1 and evil guy #2.

Absolutely, great post ! I was a Democrate in the past, so my vote for Gary Johnson didn't "hurt" Romney in the least...the only "hope" I can hold on to at this point, is that now that Obama does not need to depend on corporate backing to get re-elected he may actually do some of the things he promised to begin with.

Not likely, I know...this is the man that brought the NDAA to America, waged war without congressional support, has NOT brought our troops home...and when they finally get home, after being ordered to stay longer, thier friggin house is being fourclosed on, and many our an emotional and physical mess....I could go on....but we all get it......

I Love our beautiful Country....and I really am hoping to become a Grandma someday and show them how wonderful life and people can be...so that's why I will keep on trying.......

Any candidate that stands there and says he wants to balance the budget and cut military and medicare by 43% in his first year in office is batsh*t crazy. I'm all for balancing the budget, reducing military spending, and reducing medicare costs, but thinking that he can get it done in the first year is insane. All the more reason NOT to vote for the guy.

Not voting is wasting a vote.

If all the "I'm not voting" quitters would have tried for something else, like GJ maybe the numbers would have been higher. But since everyone knows everything all the time, what we got is what we get.

Even if it would've been just the 5%, it sends a stronger message than nothing at all.

Exactly, if Johnson wasn't on the ballot who's to say that we are GUARANTEED to vote for Romney? If anything we are stealing votes from BOTH candidates.

Words can't express my disappointment. 1 million is a joke of a number. I truly start to question whether most people even realize there are more than 2 parties. I mean I'd guess you'd never really know by watching the media coverage.

It's funny I didn't see Johnson get much or any air time on CNN before the election, but now after the election they gave him a lot of airtime to run off some of his views. amazing.

Of course, news outlets like CNN are bought by the main parties. They can't risk their candidate losing by airing some third party candidate coverage, but now that the election is over, they can air all they want about him since he has to wait another 4 years to run again. Also, by the time 4 years rolls along, CNN and other media outlets will start blackballing him again so the public can conveniently forget about him again.

Regarding the myth that the votes for Gary Johnson were somehow magically added to Obama's tally... what a load of bunk!
Besides, he only got a million votes-- Obama beat Romney by 2.5 million. Sending Johnson's supporters to Romney, which is hardly a guarantee, would have done nothing.

My husband and I voted for Gary Johnson yesterday, probably the only votes he got in this small, rural county. However, we could not, in good conscience, vote for either Obama or Romney. Both of them are just awful. Even seeing them on TV spouting off their BS made my stomach turn. Now we get 4 more years of somebody we know is a proven liar. How super for all of us.

We did not waste our votes. We voted our conscience, and did not play the numbers game. Those of you who did are complicit in this shell game to sucker in Americans to their eventual downgrade to banana republic status.
i did the exact same. change will not happen until we change the way we play the voting game.

I'm a registered Libertarian and a monthly donator to the party. Disappointed - but not shocked - that he didn't receive that coveted 5 percent. Lot of work to do for 2016. Go Gary.

Great point....and actually as I think more about this..it convinces more that Gary Johnson may have done better then we are being lead to believe....and now that he is no longer a "threat" ....TPTB are "humoring" and frankly insulting us by providing some passive/aggressive "steam valve" for many of us that are pretty damm angry, and understand what's going down .....

The very fact that Jill Stein and her running mate were arrested, handcuffef and detained for even showing up at the Presidential debates makes me sick. I think she is owed a public apology by both Obama and Romney, not inviting the 3rd party canidates was bad enough....these men have NO honor.

If nothing else it was worth my vote to say THANK-YOU for fighting against all odds, to those brave devoted patiots for America....nope, my vote wasn't wasted at all........

i had it in my mind that maybe some seats in Congress might change...

only 100.000.000 voters in the us?

out of a total population of 311.000.000?

Is that math right? Cause having only one third of total population voting is really weird...
