Every healthcare worker and Dr. I know has said the same thing your wife has said.

Well, that's funny, because every healthcare worker and dr. I know has said that the new healthcare act will not really affect them, except maybe to bring more business, because more people will have insurance.

OP, I couldn't agree more. My Wife is a Physicians Assistant in NY. She has come home multiple times and stated her concern for Obamacare. Obamacare will close her office the Doctors will not be able to afford to stay in business. So everyone here at ATS that really loves their local doctor and the lovely people that work for them, think twice in November.

Nice propaganda.

this map shows the ratio of doctors to patients around the world:

strangemaps.files.wordpress.com...

As you can clearly see many countries with socialised medicine have MORE doctors per patient than the US does.

Socialised medicine does NOT cause doctor shortages.

The main source of this outrageous lie is, guess what, the insurance industry.

Busted! Health Insurers Secretly Spent Huge To Defeat Health Care Reform While Pretending To Support Obamacare

So, why would AHIP try to secretly destroy a legislative scheme that would drive millions of new customers into their arms thanks to the mandated insurance provisions?

According to Neera Tanden, who served as the senior advisor for health reform at the Department of Health and Human Services and was a member of the Obama White House health reform team, it was all about the Medical Loss Ratio (MLR)—the provision of the ACA that not only requires the health insurance companies to spend 80 percent of your premium dollars on actual health care expenditures, but further requires that they refund to their customers any amounts they fail to spend as required by the MLR.

People on the right claiming Obamacare will destroy medicine mean, "Obamacare will eat into our profits".

A hospital on the east side of Cincinnati out in the country shut down because no one was paying their hospital bills. My brother in law an ER Doctor had to find a new job else where because he wasn't getting paid. The Urgent Care Center affiliated with the hospital also shut down. Now all those people who can pay have to drive a hour or more to Cincinnati for hospital care. Even the hospitals are really struggling in this recession/ inflationary time. The best thing is to exercise and take vitamins. Try not to get sick or hurt.

Doctors have a conscious just like everyone else. Even if all that was true they wouldn't care what the law is they are sworn in to help everybody in need. If a doctor see's a person that needs serious help and doesn't do anything about it, he can kiss his job goodbye.

No they don't they see dollar signs like everybody else. I also happen to know they will charge non insured people a lot more for the same procedures that would cost half that to an insurer. Please. nobody is buying that!

Besides, should the healthcare standards in America rely on strangers potentially being nice to strangers?

Seems pretty mush-brained to me.

) WTH!!! I was out on my A$$ at 18 and got no health coverage for myself until I WORKED. When and how do they expect our kids to grow up???

Well, I don't think the kid is forced to be on your insurance -- if they have a job that offers healthcare insurance, they can get it that way. I believe the rules just allow (not force) you to keep your kid on your insurance until age 26.

Agreed. Just more ignorance and dis-information.

Like I have time to read 4000 billion pages of this document for this "Health Plan reform" (I tried after 4 paragraphs I was falling asleep). Good it doesn't force me to, That's wonderful. I just had seen people online post that it does. I am glad it makes it possible but doesn't impose any more regulations in the 4000 billion pages. Excuse me for not knowing the 4000 billion page document...is it available on audiobooks?

You certainly have plenty of time to make stuff up about it.

Like I said I'm going by what I've read from people who say they've read it (I stress SAY) that they have . and by what I have heard in the media. As far as I can tell only two things are halfway decent in the document, the fact that they can't turn you down (but still can charge you more) for having a previous medical condition and the fact that some of the poeple who fall through the cracks may not anymore (but that is just an assumption it has not been proven yet). Either way the information I got was that essentially you would have to cover your child until they were 26 I didn't make it up. I'm sure someone did, but it wasn't me. Whatever. I have no time either to argue with a child.

No one in the media is claiming this ridiculous nonsense.

I just spent a few minutes and couldn't find a single other person claiming this.

You may think you heard it somewhere, and maybe you did, but if you did, you should've checked it before you repeated it.

Imagine what other lies your basing your vote on?

And then to defend your ignorance, by saying, "I'm too busy to learn if what I'm basing my vote on is true" is essentially suicidal.

If this is how you navigate life and the value you instil in your kids I'd say they have a lot bigger problems than health insurance.

Google: Obamacare children 26

See what you find. See just how hard it would be to learn the truth.

Then NEXT time your tempted to repeated some ludicrous claim, check it first.

You are spreading lies and making it harder to have an intelligent discussion.

[slaps forehead]

Your inability to see the differences between the two and make a nuanced decision is no surprise to me.

What you obviously don't understand is that, as the saying goes, "a non-vote is a vote in itself". In America, not voting doesn't remove you from the process, it simply randomises your input. Suicide via Russian Roulette. What a brave decision.

There are literally hundreds of differences between the two candidates, actual difference, not made up ones. Waiting for a perfect candidate (and I can only assume your gullible nature means your a Ron Paul supporter) will mean letting someone else make decisions for you for a long, long time. Then again, seeing the kind of thing you base decisions on, maybe that's a good choice.

This is sort of long, but certainly not "4000 billion pages". It provides a pretty comprehensive summary of the Healthcare Act. I would go by this before I believed all the conservative blogs, or individual comments on forums.

Nope not too long because when I have the ability to leave I will be.
There is NO DIFFERENCE between the two running both oligarc puppets.
If you cannot see that then oh well...too bad...I will have the money to flee America and very soon...I can assure you and I'll be watching while you all are flushed down the toilet, drowning in more war debt, unemployment and economic failure since 1929, I will pity you for being so naive, but it can't be said that you all weren't warned, I thought the point here was to deny ignorance? Well, it seems that is out the window....this whole election is nothing more than a ruse.

I assume you also don't know what an oligarc(h) is?

And there's literally hundreds of differences.

Your ignorance of those difference !=! there being no differences.

As for you "fleeing America," good luck, but you know, there's no western nation on earth that embraces ignorance more than America - you'll find that people actually expect you to not spout nonsense, wherever you go. And guess what, America is the MOST "capitalist" nation on earth as well; any where else you go is gonna tax you more (and give you more in return)... better get used to socialised medicine, post haste. How do I know? I've lived abroad, as an American for eight and a half years.

The thing is, you need to actually be more independent. Don't just believe what you hear. Learn to think for yourself and make hard decisions. Running away from your problems won't work.
