After reading and posting to several WWIII scenarios I have to state that given the current and very soon future U.S. Military capabilities...the prospects for WWIII have decreased dramatically. The U.S. has for decades ben developing a replacement for Nuclear Weapons and has accomplished this feat.

Nuclear War was never a viable option for the U.S. or Russia and still is not. The Radiation alone would poison the World and the U.S. as well as the then Soviet Union searched for other methods. The Soviets...now Russians...concentrated their research on Particle Beams. The U.S. on Lasers. A Particle Beam does not have to worry about atmosphere and can burn right through clouds and water vapor that may reflect a Laser...but a Particle Beam is extremely dangerous to operate and many Russians died by being irradiated during Particle Beam Tests.

The U.S. worked on development of a Solid State Laser but it was not until recently that a Major Breakthrough was achieved. The U.S. developed a Laser that incorporated Radical Free Electrons and this Laser acted like a particle Beam in it was not effected by atmosphere and with further research determined that such a Laser could be Nuclear Powered. This Laser is now operational and will be installed on all carriers and Aegis Cruisers.

Such Power is reasoning enough that WWIII will never occur. Split Infinity

You still need man-power bud,and the US just doesn't have it
Regardless there wont be a ww3 or at least the type we are expecting..

Intersesting. Do you have any links so I may look into this?

Being former Military, I do know that most tech out there that is readily seen, also has a tech to counter it and a tech to counter that.

After reding this
www.aip.org...

Maybe your right

FEL technology is being evaluated by the US Navy as a good candidate for an anti aircraft and missile directed-energy weapon. Significant progress is being made in raising FEL power levels (the Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility's FEL has demonstrated over 14 kW)[17] and it should be possible to build compact multi-megawatt class FEL weapons.[18] On June 9, 2009 the Office of Naval Research announced it had awarded Raytheon a contract to develop a 100 kW experimental FEL.[19] On March 18, 2010 Boeing Directed Energy Systems announced the completion of an initial design for U.S. Naval use.[20] A prototype FEL system has since been demonstrated with a full-power prototype scheduled by 2018.[21]

The kid with the rifle in one hand and a flag in the other.

THAT proves you hold the ground. But we really haven't done that since WW2.

You are right and wrong at the same time.

You are right about US weapons technology, US has sacrificed long term economy over the
decades to build the most advanced military in the world

US even has air to space vehicles, this is a big secret, Russians and Chinese are catching up
but NO way close to US.

Now lets get to the part where you are wrong.

US and NATO all under the control of western central bankers, are not simply neighbors
looking at you across the street

They are working actively on world take over, country by country, one day they will push
China or Russia to respond by force,

Someone will fly one nuke

and then the world blows up with 5000 nukes flying left and right.

You realize in the last maybe 5 decades the military and high government officials have been building fallout underground bunkers for types of situations like this. They wouldn't have even started the idea of building nuclear weapons before having a safety measure to avoid the highest most catastrophic possibility that a nuclear weapon can muster. You bet they'll have and will fire those weapons, it all depends on who fires first. They're all prepared for the day when they all go under ground and leave the masses to get fried.

You lack facts to back up your claims.

How do you know about the Russians dying?

How do you know they were using particle beams?

How do you know any of this?

Got a source?

I doubt it.

And so what about a laser beam that is powered by nuclear energy? All the nuclear energy would be doing is turning water into steam to turn a turbine to generate electricity. Who cares that it's powered by Nuclear energy? It could be powered by coal as well, or diesel or petrol or gas, etc.

How does a nuclear powered laser beam end world war 3?

Gimme a break!

Gimme a SOURCE!

We are already installing the electromagnetic rail guns on our ships..That's just what they tell us we have..Imagine the stuff we DON'T know that's all ready to go..You are very correct about the particle beam..We've been developing that for a long, long time..The solid state laser is an ass beater plain and simple..

Isn't s particle beam weapon the same as laser? Irregardless of its power source?

The one thing you have missed, and I absolutely believe the most important is the unpredictability of insanity and psychopaths. Not the same but just as dangerous.

The World leaders, and yes this does include the US are absolutely lusting for power. And with this lust is a background of psychopathic behavior and tendencies.

All it takes is ONE mad man to push that button and I truly believe that the US has more than their fair share of psychopaths in power than any other Nation.

So if it isn't a smaller Nation wanting to push the button first, it's the US behind the scenes goading anyone to step up so they have the justification to launch.

For the US, it's all or nothing. And unfortunately, the money left over for the elite is more than enough to bury the innocent.

Peace

The Us had one test ship with a rail gun installed, but for testing purposes only. Rail gun tech is not efficient the Us figured that one destroyer one be needed for each rail gun.

That's what they want you to think, that it's still in it's developmental stage..They have been working on this for decades, along with the particle/laser weapons..Don't let the videos of the rail gun fool into thinking they need that big ass machine to generate the pulse they need to send those projectiles 20-30 miles down range

A particle beam destroys a target by disrupting its atomic and/or molecular structure..The laser super heats it's target causing it to incinerate instantly

You only need Man Power if you intend on occupying a country. The U.S. would not want to occupy China or Russia. All we have to do is render the attacking countries Weapons and Soldiers inert or Destroyed.

This is my point...any Country that would attempt an attack on the U.S. would have to either launch Nuclear Missiles or Bombers...which the U.S. could Vaporize with ease...or a Country attacking the U.S. would have to invade. Invasion of Troops on U.S. soil is all but impossible. First they would have to cross oceans that the U.S. Navy controls...and with the Power and size of the U.S. Navy being what it is...any attempt would fail.

Thanks

But it still makes me wonder, the power required to generate a FEL is definately on a carrier.

But wouldn't a Destroyer have to also be nuclear powered? The US doesn't have those in it's fleet to the best of my knowledge.

If you want to get technical and equate a World War as one that involves numerous nations in a single conflict, Gulf War I was World War III. The anti-Saddam coalition had more members than the original anti-Axis allies.

World War IV is being fought now. The various players in the Global War on Terrorism (pick a country and they are fighting a terrorist group) are all engaged in a conflict that was predicted by Colonel Boyd nearly 30-years ago called "Fourth Generation Warfare".

The next war is World War V.
