Basically the jist of it is this:

"You all need to work for the wages of the people on the Gulf Coast, and Mexico. And you need to work harder. I'm going to wear enormous pearls while I tell you how in debt YOU are. I love Australia, and already own enough money to feed my family for a hundred generations, but I'll outsource jobs to Africa and Asia if you don't start accepting your place as poor folk. Remember, we're actually in no real danger of economic collapse at the moment, but we might as well pretend we are until then. Oh, and let's not construct schools, hospitals, or shopping centers because they're expensive and peons who work in the hole don't need them anyways. China and West Africa say we're too expensive. Oh, and we need to build in the North where there are high amounts of poor people and low taxes and less regulations... because... uh... you know, I'm a billionaire, we don't like to pay taxes. Yeah taking food off of thousands of people's tables because your enormous conglomerate is dying and the only thing left to do is supplement it with millions of dollars of taxpayer money because it killed all of the small businesses because they couldn't compete with a corporation that shoves minimum wage down it's employees throats and therefore can supply cheaper but often much poorer quality goods is a much better alternative in the long run.

As long as it's your offspring suffering for it and not you.

I made it very clear in a previous post that I understood that what she said was taken out of context, so I am certainly not spreading lies. The point I'm making is that the greed of corporations owned by multi-billionaires somehow seem to justify thier endless greed in the name of "business" , profits and this whole nonsence of remaining "competitive".

No one has the right to make obscene amounts of money by screwing thier own countries and exploting poor people in other countries to work for $2 a day. She can spin it anyway she wants...in effect she is saying that because she is paying fair wages to her employees, in her country, the billions she is making aren't "enough" for her to remain profitable? She also made some "veiled" insults that in order to pursue her lastest project she claims will give Aussie's jobs, it will be neccesary to bring in outside labor because the cost and productivity would be hindered if she gave the jobs to Aussie's to build it ?

She's a mean vicious elitist, she's in lawsuits with 3 of her 4 children over money, she's vindictive to her father's widowed wife....but somehow she's a saint cause she is "forced" to keep her business in Australia, you can't move mines, she would if she could in a heartbeat. She has publically made nasty remarks that poor people are drunks and smokers...and you expect us to believe she cares about anything but herself...nope, I don't buy it from her and all the greedy bastards like her.......

I've already stated unions have done good things in the past. I'm simply saying, here in the states at least, many of them have become drunk on their own power. It may be different down under.

She on the top of a pyramid scheme and no she do not deserve the power and material things she has. Do you really think she is doing work for billions of dollars? Parasitism is an ugly thing and she will pay for it in the end. I feel sorry for the soul behind that ego/mind.

Nobody can do a 1000 times more work than a 40 hour normal working person that is efficent. There is not enought hours in the day for her to work and to be worth that much. I am not sure she have done any real work in her life and not spent all here time in more or less unproductive meetings or figured out ways to backstab people around her (like her family). I wanna see her work in a mine for a day or techniclly test and verify/create the tools they use or support the employes like in IT or even in a cafeteria.

Not to be a pest, but Gina Reinhart had a net worth of approximately $75 million when her father passed. Her, or the team her father left her, turned that into approximately $29.17 billion. Far more than inflation would cover.

She may say stupid things, but she may also be brilliant when it comes to her business'.

And a lottery winner turns $2 into $270 million if they win the jackpot!

Sure there MIGHT be other sociopaths who started with $75 mill and turned out poor.... but the point is, nobody WAS SMART ENOUGH TO FORCE AUSTRALIANS "compete" with $2 a day in a civil society just because they were in the right place and right time when China starts importing everything they can dig up. Yes, that's the part that just floors me, how can anyone believe they "deserve" billions of dollars for making a few phone calls and attending meetings...LOL...even in the video in this thread she couldn't be bothered to attend the meeting and made a video instead....wonder if she broke a sweat on that "snow job"... Like many of us, I have had daydreams about hitting the lottery, lol, and I'm only dreaming of millions, not billions, the best part of that fantasy is thinking about how I would share the money...sure I might build my dream house, which would be a modest farm, with an organic garden, and some animals...and my big luxury item would be a pool...lol...can't skinny dip in my condos pool...

Seriously though, it would mean nothing if I didn't help my daughter, family, friends, and rock thier worlds with opportunities I would be able to offer them. I would also dedicate time to some different charity projects, maybe start a commuity garden....now I'm no saint, and almost everyone I have talked to about this fantasy says the same thing basically...they would give alot away....that's how "normal" people think.

1. lower Australian wages in-line with African wages.

or

2. call for global action to pay all Africans a fair wage in-line with Australians.

seeing as though she is addressing Australians it sounds to me like she is asking Australians to accept less wages so companies can compete.

if that is the case then it is worth pointing out Australian workers are human beings too.
