The average wage in the mines is $90 000, thats for working six months a year, 12 hour days. Unskilled, Tradies earn far more than that.

This is why America has no jobs and what we are seeing is the resurrection of legalised slavery. Corporate America ships your jobs over seas to pay Asian or African workers $2 a day. As always, it's profit over everything else. This is what happens when you vote for the puppets that corporate America pays for.

I've already stated unions have done good things in the past. I'm simply saying, here in the states at least, many of them have become drunk on their own power. It may be different down under.

Not to be a pest, but Gina Reinhart had a net worth of approximately $75 million when her father passed. Her, or the team her father left her, turned that into approximately $29.17 billion. Far more than inflation would cover.

Sure there MIGHT be other sociopaths who started with $75 mill and turned out poor.... but the point is, nobody WAS SMART ENOUGH TO FORCE AUSTRALIANS "compete" with $2 a day in a civil society just because they were in the right place and right time when China starts importing everything they can dig up. I mean really, Gina has these mines and they ask her for minerals -- and she has TWO choices, one which will be brilliant and genius, and the other choice will leave her merely rich. secondly ..whats with all the abuse about her weight?..im guessing we have many over weight members who im sure will be offended by the tasteless trash we have to read through on a daily basis which seems to be the norm now...
