*May to aggravate her knowing it upset her
*Maybe she blushed a lot
*Maybe she reminded him of someone else
*Maybe there was a chemical attraction
*Maybe she appeared innocent to him, and that excited him
Who knows why people do the stupid things they do

You could be one hundred percent correct, however everybody has decided that she is the victim. Why is he immediately guilty? I believe that there is a fair chance that she is shaking him down, espcially since this harassment supposedly continued way after she had left his employ. Where was the power structure at that point?

I have never told anyone this but I am a Libertarian

I'm a libertarian at heart, too. I subscribed to "Reason" magazine for years, but I have never seen a Libertarian Party candidate I would vote for. The Libertarian Party suffers from a rather slippery stance on certain vital issues. I think that libertarianism (small case"l") is a good underlying philosophy, but I am less enthusiastic about the Libertarian Party.

My point is that there are ten thousand things a person can do to avert unwanted attention and inappropriate behavior in the workplace short of filing a lawsuit. Honest people do this all the time. The snakes resort to the most vicious tactics. There are plenty of laws that cover assualt, battery, sexual assualt, and rape. Sexual harassment is a form of harassment in itself.

What do we know nothing. How do we know that they may have been having an affair, with both of their consent and she wants 15 minutes of fame. How do we know its not a "Disclosure" scenario. We don't.

Woman wants money and prestige, she's having an affair with a famed guy. Maybe O'Reilly wanted to call it off, and now she's pissed and wants revenge. How old is this anway? Two years, ago, four? All we know is that letters and tapes are out, which could've been from a myriad of scenarios.

For starters, I know nothing about this case. I do not make judgment calls on this type of stuff, never have. You have to have facts to make a judgment call........but that goes both ways. I was simply making an observation on some men's comments concerning sexual harassment...always an eye opener to personal character, and how some people feel you must be beautiful to be sexually harassed...I made no judgments as to whether he has done it, or if she is telling the truth or not...again, no facts!! I think there are plenty others in this thread that has done the judgment calling for everyone.

JediMaster...you very well could be correct, but once again like many others you assume that its the womans fault, and that the man is innocent. In these types of cases "assuming" is not a good thing to do, because it essentially comes off sounding like "she wanted it" or some other nonsense.

BTW - those commenting on this womans looks, um - what the hell does that have to do with anything? A woman has to look like a damn supermodel to be harrased? Pree much stated your outlook on what makes a "woman".

I'm just throwing more stuff to the table since the majority are forgetting to look at all sides. Maybe O'Reilly did do it, I don't know. I don't think he would.

Maybe she's exageratting the situation, maybe O'Reilly really is sleazy. We do not know anything now.

Scenarios are....

1. Both agreed to an intimate affair. O'Reilly wants out, she leaks everything for revenge. A "Fatal Attraction" like thing.

2. O'Reilly is guilty and she is right.

3. Its "Disclosure" all over again.

4. Its old stuff and she's brining it out because she is'nt doing well.

People this is sick, thank god I always being around people that respect each other, got forbid anything like those type of behavior you are talking about it will get you fired.

I always took it in the joking manner it was meant in. I am one of two guys in the lab the rest are women and I guess if I told on them they would get fired. I have worked there for about 10 years and they are a sweet bunch, while I have been off work for my apendix they have sent my family several hundred dollars they collected along with a nice card. I have walked more than one to their car because of boyfriend trouble and we all try to be there for each other. A little joking around at work never killed anyone. We do respect each other, lighten up a little.

My biggest gripe here, and also goes to my first scenario is why she did not stop him. Why did she let him go on? Did she want to do this, to gain money or was she intimatley involved. Personally I think they should play these tapes live, I do not trust written words.

Sexual harassment is a bogus charge. I used to work in a environment with mostly women and the way they conducted themselves in the workplace was disgraceful. If men acted toward them the way they acted toward the men, there would have been harassment suits galore.

It's all about power and revenge.
Grady, what can I say that hasnt been said about you before and not get kicked off ATS?
I'll bite my tongue.

I think many of us are in such situations. I have all women working for me and one male....the girls joke with him a lot, but nothing that would cause my company a sexual harassment charge. There is a difference between joking and sexual harassment....if one is uncomfortable to the point of having problems with it...the the other person shouldn't.....there's a line there, and I think most intelligent people know where that line is!

1. She's still employed by Fox.

2. If you read the lawsuit some of the things O'Reilly supposedly threatened were exactly what he would say. I could completely envision those things coming out of his mouth. If someone believes they can get away with anything it's Bill O'Reilly!

3. If he weren't such a pompous, overbearing jerk to everyone that disagrees with him people would be so quick to judge him. He's the type of guy you want to see fall.

4. However, some women do lie about very sensitive things. They lie about rape and harassment as it can be very lucrative. Hell, I've known girls that have lied about being pregnant just to get back at a guy - and more then once! It's the few women that do lie about things like this that make men and even some women suspiscious. If I met a girl at a bar, she came home with me, we consented to sex, and the next day she decided she shouldn't have and called the police, I would be arrested for rape and my reputation would be ruined no questions asked. In Oklahoma, if a man and a woman sleep with each other, both being equally very drunk, the man can be charged with rape because she was too drunk. It's reasons such as these why men distrust women on such matters, not because they're sexist.

5. If this comes out to be untrue, this woman should be sued and taken for all she's worth, then get a lengthy prison sentence. You shouldn't be able to ruin someone's reputation, and in this case potentially cost them millions, then be able to just fade into obscurity and be forgotten, at least not with your freedom.

I once had a client who "fingered" three men as the father of her child and subjected them to DNA testing before we gave up trying to prove paternity. She had no idea who the father was and neither did we.

I feel the same way about the Republicans, they are close but not quite right.

Thats why I like the Libertarians, I dont believe EVERYTHING the party stands for but they come MUCH MUCH closer to my beliefs than any other bunch. I am pretty much for freedom for everyone as long as you are of age and not harming anyone else.

GP? What does a woman getting 3 dna tests have to do with a woman being sexually harrassed? I swear, just because she isn't a Pamela Anderson doesn't mean she wasn't harrassed. if anything it gives a guy more of a reason, using your little excuse. "Why would I harrass her? She looks almost as bad as Ann Coulter." And sexual harrassment charges are all bogus? WTF kind of ignorance is this? No wonder you support Bush. Oh, since you do, look at Clinton! Was Monica a super model? NO! But did he get head from her? YES! So don't have to be a 5"5, 95lbs, 38dd to be harrassed.

Amuk, where you work? Can I work there? Lol. Yes, in an enviroment where people are comfortable with each other, as in Amuks case, it isn't SH. Especially among co workers, no true base of power. But still GP, what is wrong with you? Is it a mental disfunction? You think that black van outside your house isn't CIA but women just waiting to sue you for something? I have never seen a man hate/fear women so much.

A few things on what you said.

2. Do you know O'Reilly pesonally? No? Then how do you know what he would and would not say?

3. True, but that can go to some of the other scenarios where she is either lieing or had a consentual affair with him and now wants to bring him down.

Now like I said earlier, why did she let all of this go by? Ladies of ATS, if a co-worker harrased you like the way O'Reiolly did to her, supposedly, would'nt you go to your boss as soon as it started than let it mount up? And also why would he tell her such intimate things if she was just an aqauntince? With most people, they reveal their secrets from trust. They had to have something going on.

Plus hey, if a woman sleeps with her boss one day she can say it was rape the next. Same thing can go for guys but its a rareity.

After reading all this some thing pop up in my head:

Limbaugh...on Painkillers
Oreilly on Viagra!!!

Maybe the "Fair and Balanced" moto has another real meaning, who knows?

__________now seriously____________

Amuk you are so funny man!!!

The way I see it is that you go to work to...WORK Doh.... not for romance, not for sex etc., I always have worked with women and I can tell in one week time (tops) if there is chemistry between me and my coworkers, II always try to be friends with everyone and to listen. My personal life and my sex needs are never discused at work, mayb e opinions on some other stuff, I have never had ANY problem with women, and let me tell you people at work who think themselves like casanova or gigolo are alkways in trouble, fighting or fired. (WOMEN AND MEN ALIKE).

James (rabbit pancake head) and Pistol Pete I agree with a lot of things you said.

Since this trouble is so high profile and those involved are on power trips (most probably BILL) it reminds me of a good one:

___disclaimer_____sexist joke ahead______

women in suspicious outfit at the police precint-------

"officer I want to report I was raped!"

Officer: Yes Ma am when was that?

Woman: yesterday morning

Officer: ups thats is more than 24 hour ago why it took you so long to file this claim?

Woman: I did not know until his check bounced...!
