The NDAA legislation for 2013 points out that Iran is the biggest threat to US national security in 2013.

Not only that, policy is to prepare militarily for conflict. The legislation believes that sanctions and diplomatic efforts are not working and the answer now is to put a very big military presence around Iran.

Previous NDAA legislation has set policy aimed at peaceful negotiation.

docs.house.gov...

How is this not big news?

The war drums have been beating for years, but only now, do we have ACTUAL LEGISLATION through the NDAA that is telling us that war with Iran is being planned.

Will people only believe it when oil prices sky rocket and war is already underway?

If you turn the Iranian threat upside down you will find a tag that reads "Made in America...With Pride!"

Do I care or agree? Nope!

They say that about every Country they are about to attack. Then Years later it comes out that the Country they attacked wasn't really a threat blah blah blah!

They just say this kinda stuff to get the sheeple to see their side of the story. Obviously, as the US government puts it ... The US government is always the victim

I fully agree with that. It's them that are ruining this World ... Not so much these other Countries.

But obviously all the big boys eat from each other's pockets, therefore no one sees the problems that are within the government and the banks.

Iran is no threat to the US directly. No more than Afghanistan was. However,Iran could possibly be a threat to Israel, which is close enough for the US military to FEEL threatened.I don't believe much of what comes out of Washington these days.Nor do I care what they say.I am too busy digging a hole and stocking my armory.

It is not the biggest security threat, the US Gov is the biggest security threat to the USA.

And no I dont care, they're gonna bomb Iran eventually anyway no matter what anyone says, especially Iran.

I do believe Iran aspires to have nuclear weapons.. and they do spout a lot of dangerous rhetoric ( mostly the holy leaders ) .. so yeah I believe Iran is a big threat.. I also believe we'd be fools to ignore that threat.. diplomacy is NOT working.. it hasn't been working for a few years.. they ignore the UN, they ignore their own allies for pete's sake .. Russia offered to provide them nuclear fuel for their domestic needs.. Iran chose the dangerous option.. why would they do that? if it's purely for peaceful purposes then they could have had the fuel they needed without building these centrifuges .. The idea of a nuclear Iran is extremely disturbing to me..

Having said that.. I also think we'd be foolish to not be prepared for engagement.. however, I don't think that means we should go prop up a military around Iran because that is provocative .. it's one thing to have a plan of action, it's another to go sit outside their door waving our weapons

Eh? Your believing everything that the lying Zionist Government has told the lying Zionist controlled mainstream media to say.

Iran is no more a threat than anyone else is. Iran is not the problem here. Zionist US is the problem along with Zionist UK and the Zionist Scum of Is-Ra-El!!!

It would not even be an Israeli issue if they would stop victimizing Arabs and stealing their land. The *only* threat to the US ....... is our criminal "government".

It's a fact Russia offered fuel, it's a fact Iran refused and decided to build their own centrifuges, it's a fact the holy leadership in Iran has spouted dangerous rhetoric.. you can find clips of some of the stuff they say all over.. you can find clips of pretty much everything coming from the horses mouths.. so pardon me for respectfully disagreeing with you.. there's no reason Iran needed the capability to enrich uranium except that the Uranium Russia would have provided wouldn't have been enriched enough for weapons.. use some logic... 2+2 = 4

A friend of mine fled Iran during the protests and went to Turkey, then from Turkey to the US .. even she thinks Iran is dangerous.

The biggest threat I see that Iran poses to the US is not with nuclear weapons, but with not shutting up about 9/11 and how the whole Middle East war is one big lie. More people and countries are waking up to it. It is not the US population that have to worry about this, from what I see on these boards most of them support it getting reinvestigated. It is the people writing these rules and making the plans that are worried that enough support will build at the UN to take this matter seriously.

Maybe it's me and the way I word my posts but given this is a conspiracy site, surely people can try and appreciate some context and use some intelligence?

I'm not saying Iran is a threat to America.

The point of the thread is that certain lobby's have pushed their agenda that far that America is now making legislation to tackle Iran militarily next year.

The reason I'm asking if people care is because this war will lead to oil shortages, so it will affect you at home directly. Not only that, but Iran has some strong allies, this isn't going to be another Iraq war where only the people in Iraq suffer, this will affect us at home.

It seems people don't appreciate just how bad this could get when they start dropping bombs on Iran.

The war drums have been beating for years, but now we have legislation to actually prepare for the war, it speaks for itself really.

The title of this thread is,
"The US believes Iran is THE biggest threat to national security going into 2013- do you care?"
Answer: No it is not and no I don't.
The media keeps saying so but I am not seeing it that way.

Surely people could at least read my thread though and appreciate context?

The first 7 or so replies prob never even read the thread LOL

EDIT- To reiterate, the point of the thread is not if Iran is a threat- people are completely missing the point.

I give up.

I read, I just don't like the thread title, it is seeing things like this that get the non thinker to believe.
How about, a thread titled, "US manufactures Iranian threat so they can decimate yet another country for it's terrorist outpost in israel".

To underscore the personal meaning of events of international scope, I offer three scenarios on a small scale. These events don't involve countries and entire peoples. The players are a few individuals, and the setting is a single neighborhood.

It's your neighborhood, and you're one of the players.

Situation One:

Several of Sam's friends are viciously murdered. Sam says he knows who did it, and he can prove it. Most people, including Sam, think that the suspected murderer is hiding in Tom's house. Sam demands that Tom surrender the alleged killer. Tom responds that he'd be happy to do so; Tom requests only that Sam show him the evidence that the suspected killer is, in fact, guilty. Sam insists he has the evidence, so Tom can't imagine why the request would be problematic.

Sam refuses Tom's offer and repeats his demand that Tom surrender the supposedly guilty man without conditions. Tom says again that he'd be glad to comply with Sam's demand; he only asks that Sam offer the evidence that Sam says he has. This back-and-forth continues; neither Sam nor Tom will alter his position. In frustration, Tom finally declares: "Look, I'll do everything you demand. You say you have evidence proving he's guilty. So show it to me. Then you can have him. You can have everything you say you want."

At that point, Sam yells: "THIS MEANS WAR!!" Sam means it. He kills Tom and his entire family, destroys Tom's house, murders several of his neighbors and wrecks much of the neighborhood.

Seeming Madness: The Suffocating Unreality that Kills

How would you describe Sam's behavior? Note that, in all of these scenarios, Sam's victim repeatedly assures Sam that he can have whatever Sam says he wants. Every time, despite the fact that Sam can have everything he says he wants -- and despite the further fact that Sam gets everything he says he wants -- Sam's only response is: "THIS MEANS WAR!!"

We can certainly conclude that what Sam says he wants is not what he actually wants. The scenarios compel a further conclusion, an especially terrible one: what Sam actually wants can be achieved in only one way -- the destruction of his victim. And as I've indicated, the destruction always encompasses more than just a single victim: other people are destroyed as well.

It is tempting to say that Sam is a homicidal maniac. In one sense, that's true, and I will not argue the point. But the full truth is far worse: what if Sam isn't "just" a homicidal maniac? What if he knows exactly what he wants and has set in motion a plan to achieve it? Note this: so far, Sam's plan has worked.

****
For this is the view of the ruling class: "America is God. God's Will be done."

What they want is dominion over the world. They intend to have it. In pursuit of this aim, as they believe the necessity arises, they will destroy anyone and anything that stands in their way. To describe their behavior as insane is to miss the much more critical point, and to minimize the far greater danger. They know exactly what they're doing. They're hoping that you do not. To date, far too many people oblige them.

Don't help them in their pursuit of brutality, oppression, murder and vast destruction. I state again: they know exactly what they're doing. Be sure you judge them accordingly.
