I just don't see disrupting a function of this website because you don't agree with it as being 'relaxing'.

The way this thread is being conducted, it's just a starring free-for-all to boost low ratings. Not how this website is intended to function.

Nor is it a place to spam cliche, status quo, or meaningless arguments. I think stars promote that, yes I can see what they were intended for and I wish it was like that, but unfortunately as we get more and more users and people become more and more bored, more and more lazy, half assed posts get more and more attention. I'm sorry for not agreeing with that "functionality" of the site.

I'm relatively new on here compared to some people,
and have only posted a few threads, but what's the big deal about stars??
Are they going to enhance your life in some way or what?
I personally don't give a monkeys if anyone gives a thread or a post of mine a star or not.
And no, this is not some kind of double bluff post in order to acquire afore mentioned STAR.

I think you will find that in the days after a thread/post is made that at least several mods have perused it and have made their own determination as to whether a post is on or off-topic nonsense. They are pretty good at making sure these types of trolls don't stay on ATS very long. Yes, you'll get some idiots that star silly posts, but I'm sure if you checked that post the next day it has been replaced with a nice big OFF TOPIC image, or something similar.

90% of the posters this happens to end up screwing up bigtime in that or another thread and getting themselves banned quick smart. I have seen it happen time and time again.

Hes right on that point but it isnt just more users, its that this site is caught the attention of the younger crowd, so when somebody posts some stupid one line quip, instead of something constructive, all the other immature kids think its hilarious and star it.
