Why are his own constituents voting against him like this? Makes you wonder. Mind you, this is the third time that Paul has lost his own district in a primary race.

And why would it happen any other way, when third-party runs (#1) are essentially doomed to failure for obvious reasons, so they effectively never take off in the first place, and when your candidacy (#s 2 and 3) are blackballed in the media (as verified by outside sources) and actively worked against by your party itself, and alleged inevitability is heaped upon certain contenders?

I can tell you're enjoying yourself, and I'm sorry for that. The deck was actively stacked against Paul each time - denials or arguments to the contrary won't change that as we've got plenty of independent and neutral confirmation, and any fair eye can see it - and the entire thing is bad theater that merely supports the status quo.

Romney, our presumed nominee...who doesn't offer any serious or fundamental change on pretty much any topic, has no understanding of economics on the national level, is assured to put this country further in debt, and merely continues the ludicrous foreign policy and blustering of Bush - and by extension Obama, since he effectively continued all the same things Bush started and only changed his pet issues to appeal to the liberal base - which is exactly what Romney will do as well, changing essentially nothing of substance.

Great job on the independent thought there, America.

Romney will get the nomination it's over it has always been between Romney and Obama, Paul and his supporters just need to face the reality, and if Paul couldn't carry his own state he had no chance against Obama.

Paul supporters don't have to like it,or agree with it, but that is the way it is.

Actually Romney couldn't carry his own state, Ron Paul got 16 of the 19 delegates. And since the delegate count is what matters, Ron Paul could also win the majority of delegates in Texas as well.

RP is playing the delegate game. And it may win out for him in the end. Or at least I hope it does.

How can it play out for him? I mean, I want the guy to win, but if he loses every single primary, but then steals all the delegates and wins the convention, how does that look to the public? How will he get any respect and any voters to the polls when it will look like nobody's vote mattered?

He needed both. He can't just ignore the popular vote and win the delegates, because it will alienate the voters. They will feel like none of their votes mattered and he stole the nomination.

The only way the delegate strategy was a legitimate strategy was if he also won a few primaries and caucuses and had a legitimate argument for the nomination. Like this thread proves, he can't even win his home state. It wasn't even close.

He just needs the delegates even in primaries that Romney won RP still won delegates. But the MSM ignores this and just gives all the delegates to Romney. Also seeing in quite a few of these primaries how the votes were counted in secret we have no idea of who really won anything.

I understand the delegates are all that count, but what about PR? How will the population look upon Paul if he wins enough delegates to get the nomination, but he didn't have any decent support in the popular votes? Don't get me wrong, I think he is the best candidate, but I don't think anyone will vote for him if he steals the nomination. He needed to at least have a respectable showing in the primaries, but he didn't. He isn't even campaigning any longer. He skipped Florida, and Missouri, two states he had a decent shot at, but he totally ignored us, and isn't actively campaigning in Texas. He doesn't appear to want the nomination at all. It is a dirty strategy if it works, and it is a losing strategy if it doesn't work.

The Ron Paul cries of agony are being heard all across America.

Politico has it all shown very clearly on their chart.

Mitt Romney has crossed the finish line.

I thought you said we would all see in November?

Isn't there some last trick up the sleeve that we are all unaware of? Do I have you confused with someone else? I'm pretty sure you were telling us this was all part of the plan, and we would all see for ourselves on election day.

Well, this part of the process is over.

However, we may see some reorganizing on the dem side of the equation.

-------

The next important election is June 5, 2012.

When Walker wins the recall election in a landslide then we should see an

earthquake over at the DNC.

The truth will come out - why - Walker won.

VP Joe Biden is gone for sure. Maybe even more changes.

Yes, proving once again, that Ron Paul supporters do not know anything about politics other than what is happening with their candidate of choice. They pay very little attention to the democratic party. Real republicans don't see Ron Paul as a main threat so we focus more attention on Obama and his cronies. But 90% of paul people would vote for Obama.

Ron Paul will talk some sense into them at the convention.

Just be patient. Time is on our side.

Obama is self-destructing as we speak.

This economic stagnation must go.

Only a capitalist can get us there.

Just because we won't vote for Romney doesn't mean we will vote for Obama. Although, I must admit I did vote for Obama in 2008, and even with everything I know now, it was still a better choice than McCain/Palin.

I won't be voting for Obama or Romney in 2012. I might vote 3rd party like Johnson, or I might write in Paul, but the only thing I know for sure is that I'm taking the entire day off, voting early, and drinking the rest of the day! I want to celebrate and be drunk for what might be our last true election. When Obama or Romney are elected we are either going deeper into Socialism and big Government, or we are going deeper into Corporatism and big Government. Either way, after the election, we are probably going to attack Iran. Either way, after the election, the economy is going to tank, it is only falsely propped up now to get us through the election.

So, I'm voting for Samual Adams, the beer not the founding father!

Exactly this, wondering what I am missing. I voted just before 7pm here in Texas, at 8:30, the news was reporting 2-3% votes in, but Huffpo declared Mittens the winner. How is this possible?

like the old saying goes.."it's not if your vote counts, it's who counts the votes. tabulation fraud by simple computer programs, was already proven years ago. also, look at florida, the REPUBLICAN governor just told 180,000 people that they have 30 days to come in and prove they are an american, or they are disqualified from voting. that averages out to 5,000 corrections a day...and only 13% of that 180,000 are white, while the population of florida is 68% white...they are being AL GORED!!...i think the DOJ should send in the national guard and have these nazi right-wingers arrested and charged with federal racketeering and vote tampering.

Romney has won, and no, Paul is not going to be able to turn this around at the convention. It's Romney folks, your GOP nominee!

I like how people always make this a game of who was right and who said what first.

Are you happy that Mitt Romney almost has it? Or is it just to spite Paul supporters?

Ya know rub it in a lil bit, put an emoticon laughing, and go about your day like it's a big game that the U.S. is most likely going to have a bought out corporate puppet ruining your country even further for the next 4 years?

People who think there was another viable option than Ron Paul for president, assuming that they like their country, are quite delusional.

It is okay though, the time will come for collapse and it won't be a big game anymore. I am one of those people that won't waste my breath saying "I told you so", as it all goes to crap, because that is just counter-productive, kind of like electing Mitt Romney or Obama.

It is a true sign of the times when an honest, hard working, law abiding, straight shooting patriot is made out to be a crazy radical.

Welcome to 1984 where up is down and right is wrong.

I agree, arrest all those dirty Democrats that signed up to register illegal aliens and dead people as voters!

I never understand why we want to demonize the people that are trying to fix the problems? If we are looking for federal racketeering and vote tampering, then why not hold everyone accountable?

I have seen first hand how the Democrats organize in this state. They drive around and pick people up in neighborhoods and at churches and schools, and they pressure people to get together and vote. You should see what happens to someone that tries to exercise their rights as a black republican in this town. It is almost impossible, you will get shunned out of church and school and your own family!

Requiring ID's at the voter booth should be standard. Since we are long past the horse and buggy days, shortening the amount of time the polls are open from 6 weeks to 2 weeks is plenty acceptable. Requiring someone to have any registration changes made at least 30 days in advance is plenty acceptable and necessary to ensure the proper information is there when the polls open. These things do not target any specific portion of the population except for the stupid, unorganized, whiny, or illegal portion. If your folks fall in that category, then that isn't our problem.

i know...let's follow the law...prove that those people are guilty of voter fraud first. that way the state can have them arrested and deported. instead they are given 30 days to come in for an interview and "show papers". they had all of 2011 to do this, and they could have given those citizens 6 months to come in...this is just republican bulls##t and you know it.

and for your information, a decorated bronze star medal winner from the battle of the bulge in WW2 has to go in and prove that he is an american. this shows that they didn't even check crap...BECAUSE THEY DON'T CARE IF THEY ARE WRONG, they care about eliminating as many non-republican votes as they can.

Oh, I'm sure it is not one-sided, and I'm sure Republicans have plenty of guilt to share, but this didn't hit the news until they decided to start cleaning it up. Here in Florida the legislature spent the majority of their session on redistricting and election law and pretty much ignored the more important issues that actually affect the citizens of their state.

It should be required to show ID when you register, and show it again when you vote. Absentee ballots should be sent out sparingly and they should be strictly accounted for. The polls should be opened and manned with added security features for early voting, and then there should be 1 day of actual election. Anyone caught voting more than once, or voting with a fake ID, or any other voter fraud should be considered TREASON!

Maybe Governor Scott has political motivations, I'm sure he probably does, but it doesn't change the fact that we need these stipulations, and we need to take voter fraud very seriously.

show proof that democrats signed up dead people and illegal aliens, or it's a lie. the republicans drive around and pick up their people too, and take them to the polls, so what?
i think they should have 180,000 white republicans, all over the age 0f 65, 30 days to come in and prove that they are citizens too....we'll have 3 people there to verify their documents

Is there a big problem with illegal elderly white immigrants? If there is, then by all means run them through the ringer and make sure they check out!

Have you been to Miami? There are more illegals than there are legals. You cannot function effectively in that town unless you speak Spanish.

I have to admit, I don't know the specifics of the 180,000 people who were asked to verify their status, but I'll check into it, and if it looks fishy, I'll admit it to you. Give me a few minutes.
