The trick is to match the men with the system or change the System to match the men.


You dont try to ask a man who has optimised his Personal Skillset to the max to rise up the Ranks to the NHL level of competition to not use his OPTIMAL STRENGTHS at work in the NHL...you cannot ask him to work with one hand tied behind his back or with an eye-patch covering one side of his vision.


Players do NOT rise to the NHL level through the Ranks by becoming WELL ROUNDED ABLE TO EXECUTE EVERYMAN PLAYS AT THE NHL LEVEL...............no way man.............they rise up because they are SPECIALISTS ON THEIR TEAMS....they have found ways to get the AVERAGE AHL EVERYMAN DUTIES DONE AND THEN THEY EXPLOIT THEIR PERSONAL TOOLBOXS TO EXCEL........but first.....they learn to get the AHL level EveryMan duties or gruntwork done...and they CAN MANAGE TO DO THIS BY AND LARGE OR COME EXTREMELY CLOSE TO THAT LEVEL SO THAT THEIR UNDERLYING ELITE SKILLS CAN CHEAT FOR THEM AND COMPENSATE ALLOWING THEM TO EXECUTE AHL LEVEL EVERYMAN DUTIES.....only then once they have found ways to get ALL OF THE DIFFERENT LITTLE DETAILS OR EVERYMAN DUTIES WELL ROUNDED AHLER WOULD DO they can begin to push harder in areas they have found personal strengths in meaning they can now expand their wheelhouses...and ADD MORE AND MORE FLAIR AND SKILL WITHOUT LOSING ABILITY TO EXECUTE THOSE RITICAL EVERYMAN DUTIES.

It is negligent and derelict to expect ANYONE to graduate to the NHL level without being given a constant and consistant opportunity to apply their OPTIMAL STRENGTHS and be supported by their entire team and System in doing so.What this boils down to is that each of them NEED to be able to solve every single problem on the ice they encounter IN THEIR OWN SPECIFIC WAYS PLAYING EVERY TIME TO THEIR OWN OPTIMAL SPECIFIC STRENGTHS.....full stop....

To a man the Players who seamlessly transition from the AHL to the NHL and BRING THEIR ELITE LEVEL RESULTS AND PRODUCTION WITH THEM are given EVERY OPPORTUNITY TO OPTIMISE THEMSELVES.....this means they are allowed to express the CREATIVITY ON THE ICE FROM WITHIN THE SYTSEM REQUIREMENTS to OPTIMSE THEIR PERSONAL STRENGTHS so they can execute EVERYMAN AVERAGE NHL DUTIES which they MUST DO BEFORE THEY CAN TRANSLATE THEIR STATISTICAL AND GAME IMPACTS TO THE NHL LEVELS. The System must have BUILT IN BUFFER ZONES that allow for Players to be creative and engage in high risk manouvers to optimise themselves when needed where trust becomes a core value pillar not a crutch.....STRUCTURED NHL SYSTEMS DEPENDANT ON NUMBERS AND STATS FOR SELF-EVALUATIONS AND DECISION MAKING ARE A KILLING GROUND FOR PLAYERS WHO HAVE TO BE CREATIVE OR CHEAT TO GET AVERAGE NHL DUTIES EXECUTED....why do you think Vegas did so well initially and are still so good....lol..they started with a full stable of men who could execute average NHL duties without having to be creative to optimise themselves and cheating.The Vegas SYSTEM is NHS based and requires NO MORE THAN NHL AVERAGE ABILITIES BEING CONSTANTLY AND CONSISTANTLY EXECUTED WITH NO ONE HAVING TO GET CREATIVE TO OPTIMISE THEMSELVES....because of the Players they got who all had these qualities their Management TARGETTED IN THE WAYS I EXPLAIN EXACTLY(Vegas is an NHS Team) came in one full group the SYSTEM their Coach used COULD INCLUDE A BIT MORE STRUCTURE and a bit LESS CREATIVITY...reducing risk incrementally...and producing a statistically tighter defense.....a regular NHL Team converting to an NHS Team would have to find this EveryMan average impact Vegas inherited in small steps replacing Players one by one by one....losing skill players who are elite in the process but having better System or winning results despite the losses....tactically losing elite skill but winning more in the short -medium term because of better SYSTEM FITS REDUCING OVERALL ON-ICE RISK HENCE REDUCING MISTAKES HENCE INCREASING WINS BY PROXY.

Hitch is trying to produce a hybrid NHS impact..its a good idea but he is wayyy out of his League...this is NHS style cutting edge hockey and Hitch is only a neophyte student trying hard....but people overlook what he is doing when I do not...Hitch has made it clear from day one that AS LONG AS YOU DO WHAT HE WANTS DEFENSIVELY AND ARE ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE PUCK HE DOESNT CARE WHAT YOU DO OFFENSIVELY.....he has tried to express both structure and creativity...its how he planned on solving the Oilers prooblems from day one....Eakins brought a cool d-zone exit he could not make fly because his SYSTEM WAS ALL STRUCTURE ...TMac came in and his San Jose Model was able to seamlessly implement Eakins high speed d-zone exit thru the n-zone but the Oilers were NOT BUILT TO SUPPORT THIS PENETRATION IN THE O-ZONE WITH THEIR ENTIRE FORWARD GROUP BEING ILL-FITTING AND UNABLE TO EXECUTE AS THE SAN JOSE MODEL REQUIRED.... TMac needed a WHOLESALE FORWARD GROUP CHANGE meaning only Draisaitl fit his needs...Jumbo=Leon...and you COULD BUILD A SAN JOSE MODEL THAT WOULD WIN IN TODAYS NHL WITH LEON. TMac needed an all-in Heavy Hockey change to find sucess and the Oilers could not do it for him....they let him down .


Now we have Hitch who has kept Eakins d-zone exit and has kept TMacs n-zone transitions but who has FAILED TO CONSISTANTLY MATE THESE 2 IMPACTS UP WITH AN NHL LEVEL OFFENSE(his win streak ended when the NHL figured out his simple tactic he could not expand upon enough to keep feedin them their lunches )....so basiclly where Tmac needed to go all-in on heavy hockey to execute the San Jose Model optimally Hitch has to go all-in on stronger quicker/faster players who are a single weight class below heavy hockey and who can excute NHL AVERAGE DUTIES with ABSOLUTION ON EVERY PLAY... to execute his St.Louis/Dalls/Hitch Model optimally...this need Hitch has is as devestating to the Roster in terms of changes needed before Hitch can produce OPTIMAL RESULTS as TMacs needs were....basilly Hitch needs them to explode the core and rebuild with different players.

By quicker and faster I mean NOT ONLY FOOTSPEED FOR SOME IT IS FOOTSPEED BUT FOR OTHERS IT CAN BE BULLISH SIZE AND ABILITY TO TAKE REAL ESTATE AT WILL...negating the need for as much speed.I mean quicker and faster and STRONGER ON AVERAGE so they can execute Hitches Systems needs taking LESS RISK and winning MORE SMALL BATTLES.

Hitch is going to fail because they will NOT BLOW UP THE CORE...Hitch needs only one of Connor or Leon....T-mac only needed Leon.......the Oilers need to lose one of them to go all-in for Hitches System needs....and they will NEVER GIVE UP A TANDEM OF NHL ELITE CENTERS RECOGNISED AS SUCH BY THE ENTIRE NHL.....never....so Hitch is doomed....unless he can get some Systems help from SOMEONE LIKE MOMA2 who can show him how to us the current roster to execute his System requirements with no big moves.

The Oilers long incredibly sordid history of destroying elite skilled young high end high pick players is epic to say the least.

It is because they have bounced from Systems that are expressed via structure and Systems that are expressed via creativity.….each Head Coach applies his System differently...and he must have the exact manpower strengths he needs....so every single time you change your Head Coach you RE-SET the inhouse tangible valuations of your entire asset stable...and this creates a MASSIVE DISPARITY BETWEEN INHOUSE VALUAES AND LEAGUE MARKET VALUES....your need change so drastically that you are forced to make what are considered against the grain trades ALL THE TIME...its like a stop-start-stop-start stuttered way to try to do business....Chiapet got caught in this transition....whoever has to make a massive trade to satisfy Hitches System needs soon will again be caught having to make against the grain trades and lose massive value....it is what it is...Hitch and the new G.M need to optimise what they have without making any changes because the next ones will be CORE BREAKING.....the Oilers are stating they will not lose trades anymore and will not sell out the future and this is because they are sensing they have been having to trade against the grain for so long all they can now do is lose value in massive doses as they give up elite assets one by one and get picked clean by the League.
