This story really is very maddening.

With the sheer number of reports, complaints and so on, I am amazed that there has not been an independant watchdog organisation set up! Anyone would have thought that the TSA should be one of the most closely scrutinised organisations in the entire travel and tourism industry.

This entire country just needs to burn to its foundations and be rebuilt to its former glory. The TSA are nothing more than a bunch of minimum wage pond scum sucking terrorists*. If I ever have to fly for an emergency, I'll make sure to wear the dirtiest pair of jocks in the world, not shower for a full week, and then video tape the entire event. If the Fed wants the people to rise up and fight them, then so be it. I'll start by not showering before a rape...I mean pat down.

Every TSA supporter that I've ever debated with was in tears by the time I got done with them....including my own mother.....but not for the reasons you think. They were woken up from the stupor and false fear that they were living with for 11 years. Our country wasn't founded on giving up essential liberties for the sake of safety. Ask the German people, circa 1937, about that one.


TSA agents are one step up from cro magnon man....and that's being generous.

Like I said in the forum post about the boy in the body cast: It's the price of flying. Security procedures dictate anything out of the norm gets checked in addition to random checks. A wheel chair is not a norm when you factor in the number of people that travel without a wheel chair.

Unfortunate about the $300.

It is not the price of flying, it is the cost of hate. If the government didn't make people hate them so much, there wouldn't be anyone bothering to even consider attacking them, hence they wouldn't need personal security or airport security. Maybe if these @sshat politicians decided to get along with everyone domestically and internationally, there wouldn't be a problem.

I know people will say there's always some nut out there that's going to do damage, but can someone point out which "nuts" were not paid for by the government to generate false flags?

Follow the money. Although I'm sure this tyrannical mistreatment of Americans has far more implications than making money, it's a slap in the face, adding insult to injury.

Not only do they want to get us used to invasive procedures, losing our rights in the process, but they make a ton of cash too.

Michael Chertoff, while he was the Head of Homeland Security under Bush, advocated and pushed for installation and implementation of these new full-body scanners at our airports. Once he was out of "public service", Chertoff's consulting company (Read: Lobbying Company) landed as a client (Surprise!), Rapiscan, the company that makes the scanners. He is now a much richer person, I'm sure. There are multiple links to info about Chertoff and the scanner company.

This crap has got to stop. TSA needs to profile, until proven otherwise. Period. Focus your energy on middle-eastern men between the age of 18 and 40. Once a wheelchair bound veteran blows up a plane, we'll talk. Until then, look for those that fit the description of who it's been all along, and will continue to be. Personally, I'd make it mandatory to eat a bacon sandwich before getting on a flight. Problem solved.

I am hearing lots of good ideas on here. The TSA has become the new NAZI Regime, but for our own protection. Yeah, whatever.

The ONLY way to hurt TSA and the airlines, is in the pocket book. A few people not flying won’t hurt their bottom line. But I guarantee you, if people UNITED, chose a NO-FLY WEEK, EVERYWHERE, and everyone that possibly could avoid flying did, it would kill them. They WOULD listen. So who wants to set this up???

How about July 1-7th, 2011? I'll bet a 100 people on ATS alone couldn't follow through on a boycott, in ANY one week stretch, let alone the rest of the US. And that my friends, is the problem. No unity, we're all just a divided bunch of ineffective complainers.

A passenger screener at Philadelphia International Airport is facing charges that he distributed more than 100 images of child pornography via Facebook, records show. Federal agents also allege that Transportation Safety Administration Officer Thomas Gordon Jr. of Philadelphia, who routinely searched airline passengers, uploaded explicit pictures of young girls to an Internet site on which he also posted a photograph of himself in his TSA uniform. Homeland Security agents arrested the TSA officer March 24, and he is being held without bail.

TSA agent arrested for dousing pilot with hot coffee

The spat apparently began when 54-year-old American Airlines pilot Steven Trivett was leaving JFK's Terminal 8 and overheard the screeners' conversation. The Post's sources say Trivett admonished the screeners, suggesting they behave more professionally while in uniform. Trivett also told the screeners he thought they should "not use profanity or the n-word" while on the job, one of the Post's sources said. That's when things escalated, according to the Post. One screener allegedly cursed at the pilot and told him to "mind his own business." When the pilot tried to grab at the ID badge of 30-year-old TSA officer Lateisha El, she pushed him and threw a full cup of hot coffee on him, according to the Post's unnamed sources. The pilot was not seriously injured. El now faces harassment and misdemeanor assault charges, the the Post says.

TSA screener arrested for swiping $5K from passenger

A TSA screener was busted for allegedly stealing $5,000 from a passenger who was going through a security checkpoint, the latest in a string of snafus by the federal agency at the city's three airports, authorities said. Alexandra Schmid, 31, of Brooklyn, was arrested after she was caught on surveillance cameras at Terminal 4 stealing the money from a Bangladeshi national, Port Authority police said. The passenger had placed his jacket on the belt so it could be scanned. After it was scanned, the passenger complained that his money was missing. Port Authority police spokesman Al Della Fave said Schmid was caught on camera taking the money, placing it into a latex glove and then going to the bathroom with it. Schmid was later arrested by Officer Joseph Opramalla and taken into custody. Schmid, who has worked for the TSA for 4 1/2 years, has been charged with grand larceny. She is awaiting arraignment in Queens Criminal Court.

MIAMI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (WSVN) -- Police have arrested a TSA officer and his wife after authorities said they stole then tried to sell two iPads from a passenger's luggage. The victim, Steve, said he departed from Miami International Airport and traveled on a cross-country Christmas flight, when he discovered some very important items were missing from his luggage. "My gifts were outside the box, and we had gift wrapping torn everywhere," said Steve. Steve was missing two brand-new iPad 3Gs he had purchased for his brother and sister. Steve said he reluctantly packed the wrapped iPads in a brown bag, then he put the brown bag inside another suitcase and checked his luggage at the American Airlines counter. "I trusted the system, that they would take care of my bags," he said. However, Steve did not realize the electronics were gone until he arrived home in Los Angeles. "As I was re-wrapping the gifts, I opened up the iPad box," Steve said, "and I noticed that the iPads were missing." The iPad chargers remained in the boxes, however. Steve said, "You just don't go through someone else's luggage and take whatever you want to take. It's not like a free-for-all, you know?" On Thursday, Miami-Dade detectives arrested the alleged thief, TSA officer Michael Pujol, along with his wife Betsy. Pujol told police he slid the iPads inside a secret pocket in his uniform.

I agree. Not only that you cannot even call for a boycott or ask people to sign a petition on ATS as it is against the T&C.

I tried a few times to get people to boycott Exxon (as opposed to boycotting gasoline in general) Since Exxon recorded and boasted about record EVER profits during the start of the Iraqi 'war'... hitting them would send a real message...

No, I have not seen anything-exemplary professional when it comes to TSA. This has been a problem since their inception. Raise the wage and entry requirements but that cost money and it is passed on to the consumer. Israel has a great model but I do not think its practical with the number of passengers we are talking about that run through the US airports. Put TSA on baggage and use retired military or reserves to screen the passengers but, you will pay more for the ticket and that does not make us happy either. There is nothing wrong with profiling its effective law enforcement but some one wants to cry discrimination over that as well. This man was definitely wronged and treated with little to no respect. The only solution is pay more for the ticket and get some real professionals in to do the work. Looks like the terrorist won this one, on 9/11 our lives changed for ever

every day i read storys like this and lose more and more respect for my own kind we as humans are repulsive,for any human to be treated with the lack of respect that so many of us are shown on a daily basis is disqusting and repolsive....so many of us should be ashamed to be seen and heard by others.

ETA: It is too bad people don't use the power they so easily have to use, the power to say NO MORE. It would require no funds on their part and is simple abstinence of certain things for such a short time of inconvenience. Yes, we are a weak people.

Now you just hit the nail on the head, you can not give any type of power positions to this bunch of low life scum, I was recently flying out of atlanta international, and was informed that I and my luggage had been "selected" for a search, now out comes two Goons with no necks, if i had run into this pair in a alley i am certain my gun would have cocked it's self.

Long story short, when i arrived at my destination, when I began to unpack I found my laptop comp and a very expensive tape recorder misssing i realized it would be futile to complain to the airline as apparently this is a ongoing criminal enterprise.
