Have you been worrying about the upcoming doomsday prophecy and still don't have your bunker?
Well today is your lucky day!

They have your ready made missile silo converted into a bunker reduced!
It cost the taxpayers about 18 million to build.
The original price was $4.6 mil,but drastically reduced to only $750k.

www.missilebases.com...

Back in the late 1950's and early 1960's when the Cold War was hot, the U.S. government built hundreds of Atlas-F missile silos (for 18 Million each in 1961) to prepare the country for an attack that never came. Today, most of these silos lie abandoned and filled with water, monuments to governments wastefulness and a bygone era. But now, thanks to two entrepreneurial cousins, one of these silos located in beautiful Adirondack State Park is finding new life as a luxury home with its own private airport. Surely one of the most unique real estate properties you could own, the missile silo home sits on 20 acres (with 85 additional acres available) of manicured grounds, forest and trails. Above ground, it features a hangar and spacious open living room and fireplace with wrap around porch. Below ground, and accessible via stairs from above ground home in what was once the launch control center, now is a two level, 2300 sq.ft., 3 bedroom 2-1/2 bath with open living area and kitchen adjoined by a spiral staircase.

'Hey there sexy, wanna come check out my missile silo'... SLAP!

I wonder if this architecture would ever catch on, just imagine an entire world with buildings underground. Granted there are some safety issues, but those can be addressed.

that'll be the worst real estate investment in history. even donald trump would shake his head.

any known missile silo, active or other wise is a sure fire target. in nuclear war, you take no chances.

Here are the problems:
1. Silos are only cheap for a select few, most can't afford it.
2. The world isn't coming to an end.
3. Here's the fun one. Wait till the governments wants them back ha!

Yep,you are right.
North Korea still has the old maps and would aim straight for them.

I haven't looked at that site in ages!

Last time I saw it they wanted $2-2.5mil for the whole NY complex.

I wish I had that kind of money...

Wait, but... but if the world is ending... wouldn't these be going up in price?

I remember that one being for sale, many many years ago. If my memory is correct, it was originally priced around 7.5 mil then. It must have went down since then. Still, that is one heck of a reduction, though.

Maybe this means that there is a missile silo housing bubble to come?

If any of you guys have google earth, and are really interested as to how many of these sites had been built (in the states) in that era, there is a .kmz that lists most of them. It is a truly knock your socks off - change your underwear sort of experience.

KMZ link

There are a few decommissioned Titan I sites near my hometown, and one was open enough to be explored. People had been in there after it was "closed" off. Very cool, impressive and very dangerous at the same time. Not something that I would advise crawling around in, at least I was told that.

You are on to something there.
If the end was neigh, the prices would be going up.

This will be the beginning of the doomsday bunker bubble about to burst.
Conspiracy theorists and bankers have been in bed again for a very long time, haven't they.

It's probably because better more modern facilities are available for less;

link to their site; www.terravivos.com...

Sales for bunkers according to CNN are up %1000 and ABC says something similiar
