That,indeed would be a good thing.
A return to what is real in the here and now.
But,you could still pretend,like when I was a kid and built forts.

How do you keep out the water and provide light and ventilation once the grid goes out and the generator is out of fuel?

Maybe solar?

Not bad. As long as there is no great flood, then a silo would be a bad place to be.

I think bunkers, if placed at a proper elevation above sea level and you had solar panels/wind generators, could save you from a variety of catastrophes but maybe not all ..Pole Shift or Earth Crust Displacement would be the ones most difficult to prepare for in my mind.
