Wall street has a lot of control and influence on global trade. There are also other exchanges around the world contributing to the issues of distribution of resources. North Korea along with many other nations are out of this loop in some ways and as a consequence do suffer from chronic malnutrition and other problems.

As for why the US gives to NK and not others, because they are well armed, organised and loyal and have been a major pain, the squeaky wheel gets the oil. There has also been a deep bond build over the years on the bodies of over a million, from all sides of the issues.

As for the governments threats, they feel insecure. There has been a lot of conflict and powerful global forces sweep through the region and holding the line has not been easy, but they have. This does very much get to the issues of banking and the trust that is required there to get out of this isolation so they can start fending for themselves better.

the kicker is that most of them are from australia! you know the country that fought the afghan war with us, iran etc.. and to this day buy our military goods and let us train them.. crazy ppl

Not their fault entirely. MSM globally is to be blamed. I speak to individuals overseas and majority of the times, the news is entirely different on MSM. Generally it is a distorted or biased viewpoint of a Journalist. Unfortunately many individuals follow the herd mentality and believe every single word typed/displayed on the net and in newspapers/magazines.

Isn't starvation against the Geneva convention?

Yes, so maybe someone should do something about the NK government who are starving the citizens so that they can further their "space" program.

Its only against the Geneva convention if you are warring with them, and we are not. So let them starve. Mayby they will eat their great leader when they get hungry enough.

These "nutcase" people in charge in N Korea just don't care. They got all their priorities wrong but they do it all the same. They went to the negotiation table with the US and got themselves a deal in food aid but decided to launch a rocket 2 months after the deal was inked. The US were wary because the N Koreans have always back out of their words in the past. These people are beyond helping...even China leaves them to their nonsensical antics. They are stubborn, proud and still haunted by shadows of the past. Iran is way easier to have dialogue with...imo
