Joseph Kony has been involved in these types of atrocities for a long time now and not just in Uganda. He is by far the biggest monster on the planet and has been getting away with it for far too long.
Saying this whole thing is a Psy-Op is not only disingenuous, it is actually rather disturbing. I suggest you actually look into Joseph Kony and the LRA.
If you do not like the Invisible Children thing then fine but to simply dismiss Kony is wrong on so many levels.

It appears Kony is a replacement bogeyman for Bin Laden.
To many high-flying people of questionable characters are involved in this now for my liking.

You're right it is wrong for one to be against this.
If you're against this then you must be FOR the abuse of children, right?
Hmm.. Kinda reminds me of SOPA/PIPA debate of child pornography on a whole new and much larger level.
The OP is right, it smells like a psy-op.
Thank you for reading this and doing further research about Invisible Children and Kony 2012. In response to this explosion of interest about the Kony 2012 film, there have been hundreds of thousands of comments in support of the arrest of Joseph Kony and the work of Invisible Children. However, there have also been a few pieces written that are putting out false or mis-leading information about these efforts. This statement is our official response to some of these articles and is a source for accurate information about Invisible Children’s mission, financials and approach to stopping LRA violence. Invisible Children’s mission is to stop LRA violence and support the war affected communities in Central Africa. These are the three ways we achieve that mission. Each is essential: 1) Document and make the world aware of the LRA. This includes making documentary films and touring these films around the world so that they are seen for free by millions of people. 2) Channeling the energy and awareness from informed viewers of IC films into large scale advocacy campaigns that have mobilized the international community to stop the LRA and protect civilians. 3) Operate programs on the ground in the LRA-affected areas to provide protection, rehabilitation and development assistance.
Calling for the death or arrest of one person on Youtube and creating a viral campaign to find him is a dangerous weapon. It's a WMD. What are we going to fill the power void with? A corrupt government? Al-Qaeda backed Islamist terrorists from Nigeria and Sudan?
