Also do they really know the long term effects of getting hit by such radiation.

WEAPONS THAT will lash rioters in Iraq with microwave beams will be deployed early next year, the Sunday Telegraph claimed.

The weapons use microwave tech which penetrates the skin to a depth of less than a millimetre and cause intolerable pain, the newspaper reports.

On the other uses of this ... I suppose if the beam can be directed it could be used as a remote power supply too.
